Music Is No Longer Paying Like It Used To – Mzbel

Songstress, Mzbel has stated that music is no longer paying as it used to. Something she has attributed to the difficulty in promoting songs in modern times.

She also revealed that she no longer releases albums because it has become difficult to sell them due to technology.

The ‘Legelege’ singer stated that formerly, a musician could make money even before the release of his/her music.

But in modern times, musicians have to struggle even after the release of their music.

She also decried the negative effects of piracy of songs, a situation she lamented has affected the sale of albums.

Mzbel noted that people are able to easily access songs online hence, they tend not to purchase CDs.

“Ghanaians are not buying CDs. People are downloading our songs and so we are unable to make money. Speaking for myself, I now release singles because the sale of an album is difficult due to technology,” she said.

Asked how she’s faring after more than a decade in the music industry, she revealed that she’s not doing so bad. However, she isn’t taken music as seriously as she did in the past.

“not so bad. It’s okay. I do music once in a while. After fourteen years, I cannot take music as a world cup because you’ve seen it all, you’ve done it all. So I will release a song once a while,” she stated.

When asked why she has relaxed in promoting her songs she said,

whether you promote your songs or not, you will not make money like in the past. In the past, you will make money even if you don’t promote it because people will buy the rights even before the songs are released. I am currently moving from one station to the other promoting my new song. It was not like that in the past.’’

Mzbel, born, Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, was speaking in an interview with Prince Kwesi Dadzie aka Mr. Handsome on GH Entertainment on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.

‘I Have Made A Lot Of Money From Music’ – KK Fosu brags

Ghanaian Highlife Artiste, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu states that the music industry pays. Furthermore, this is contrary to what some people think.

He made these statements to Melvina Frimpong Manso on Suncity Radio’s Showbiz 971 in Sunyani.

KK Fosu asserted that musicians need to learn a lot in order to make it.

“It is funny when people say music doesn’t pay. People hate the truth in Ghana. And many people do not want to learn. The Ghanaian music industry is moving forward. The killing of talents is our problem. We have so many talents but we need to treat them well.

I have made a lot. Music has helped me. If I say music has not helped me then I will be a liar. I have been able to take care of my wife and children all because of music and I have travelled a lot. I have been on so many stages.”

Moreover, the highlife singer is from a family of singers. Therefore, he said he put more seriousness on his work.

“I am music. I am from a family which are talented. My dad was a very powerful treble singer in a bad. All members of my family are singers. God has been the backbone of anything that I do. If you have the talent, you won’t go and learn. It is good to have the talent. I don’t play when I am doing music.”

However, apart from music, he revealed that he is also into football management.

“I went outside the country. I went into football management and manage footballers; I have footballers outside the country. I nurture them. I am doing some courses on football management. You cannot do one thing at a time…so now I am back to do music fully. I have players in Europe, Asia. My investment in football will make me one of the richest artistes in Ghana in the next five (5) to ten (10) years. I started doing this in 2002. Ask Sly Tetteh and he will testify. I kept this from the public eye.”

We have people who by nature they behave like men although they are women (and vice versa) and so if you should give birth to such a person, will you kill them?

He will only commend my efforts but never gave me a pesewa,” she said.

He urged all Ghanaians to join them as they intercede for the country to help curb this pressing issue.

5 Common Mascara Mistakes To Avoid

Who doesn’t dream of having gorgeous, luscious lashes? From long and spidery fashionable ones… to thick and sexy voluptuous ones, you can bat some pretty suckers in no time at all if you take good care of them and not fall victim to committing some must-know mascara errors!

1. You pump WAY too much.

Pumping the mascara wand each time you are ready to apply is not the way to go. Doing this (which most people do) injects air into the tube which inevitably dries out your product more rapidly. A dry mascara will give you a clumpy mess – not the look you want surely. Instead, take your time to simply twist your mascara wand back and forth or take it into a circular type of motion to get some product onto the wand.

2. You habitually apply to the top lashes first.

When you apply to the top lashes first, you will usually end up with black dots on the lids and under the eyes as you look down to apply to bottom lashes as a second step; again, a common habit of most beauty fanatics. Start with the lower lashes as you tilt your head forward. Next, look straight ahead as you apply to the upper ones in a zig-zag motion.

3. You don’t know when to throw it out.

Six months is usually the max for keeping mascara hanging around. Using it for more than that can put you at risk for an eye infection in due time. And for goodness sakes… don’t share your mascara with ANYONE! This is a simple way to keep your eyes and eyelashes healthy looking at all times.

4. You neglect to wipe your brush.

Did you know your mascara brush can pick up plenty of bacteria daily? Yep, it’s true. Best way to handle this problem is to gently wipe the brush with a tissue each time before you apply mascara to your lashes. This will also help you to obtain a clump-free application.

5. You use an eyelash curler after mascara application.

A huge no-no here! Doing this will not only break your precious lashes, it will also yank them out from the roots. Gently curl your delicate eyelashes from root to tip, and please take your time. Once they are curled to perfection you can finally apply your favorite mascara. Don’t rush the process!

Makeup application takes time and know-how… but it’s worth it. You can have the most beautiful looking eyes with amazing lashes by not neglecting them and simply giving them some TLC!
