Mzbel speaks about the NDC.

Ghanaian female artiste, Mzbel speaks about how the party she supported have abandoned her. Furthermore, she stated that she ‘sacrificed’ her career to support the former president John Mahama and his NDC. However, the party abandoned her after the quad accident.

Also, she said she rejected by the NDC and John Mahama. Therefore, she took to her Facebook page and lamented over how hurtful the very political party (NDC) she supported are.

“For the love of my political party NDC, I offended a lot of people, jeopardised my career and was verbally abused, but that didn’t deter me to keep fighting for what I believed in.

It’s sad that I’m temporarily stuck in bed now due to a minor accident and not even a phone call or text message from any of the people I genuinely supported, to wish me well… And the amazing fact is that Honourable Tina Mensah, mother for my constituency, the woman I strongly campaigned against rather visited me yesterday when she heard about the accident.

I am learning my lessons and I’d also want to appreciate madam MP for the love and care, even though we were on different sides, God bless you… You are just too real ??*Teary Eyes*

Stonebwoy smokes the peace pipe.

Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy buries his differences with his Record Label, Zylofon Music.

Furthermore, over the past months, the artiste has had issues with the label. Therefore, on several occasions he asked business and individuals to contact his management, Bhim Nation.

However, in a recent post on his Instagram page, the artiste shared a photo of himself and the CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah. In the caption, he stated that there was peace.

Moreover, he asked his fans and followers to drop all forms of negativity. Also, they should support the growing brand that has come to change the face of music in Ghana.

Super OD laid to rest.

Over the weekend, comedian, Super OD was buried. Furthermore, the funeral was at his hometown.

He passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Furthermore, the comedian died at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital in the Central Region. Moreover, this was after a few days he complained he was not feeling well.

His laying-in state was on Friday 18th May, 2018. On the following day, the funeral rites was at Agona Abodom Funeral Grounds.

Lastly, there was a thanksgiving service at the Central Presbyterian Church at Agona Abodom.

He rose to the prime of his acting career in the 1970s. Furthermore, he gained prominence in the 1990s for his comic roles in Ghanaian series, Akan Drama on Ghana Television.

The actor was part of the Oppong Drama Group which later became known as Osofo Dadzie Group.

 

Former President John Dramani Mahama joined hundreds of mourners. Also, other mourners included Nana Ampadu, Osofo Dadzie and others.

The funeral held at Agona Abodom in the Central Region attracted droves of people from far and near.

92-year old movie producer and actor, Frimpong Manso aka Osofo Dadzie expresses dissatisfaction with the current crop of actors and actresses. Furthermore, this is about their reluctance about not coming to them for advice.

The veteran producer was once the producer of GTV’s popular drama show ‘Akan Drama’. Moreover, he made these statements in an interview on Adom TV. Also, he stated that they are the pioneers in the movie industry. However, these modern once doesn’t approach them for any advice.

Therefore, he advised that their doors are always open for the young ones to enter for their advice.

Former President shows generosity to family of late comedian.

Former Ghanaian President and flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama was at the funeral of Super OD. Furthermore, the comedian’s real name was Asonaba Kweku Darko.

Moreover, he gifted an amount of Ten thousand Ghana Cedis to the late Super OD’s family.

The final funeral rights of the late comedian, “Super OD” was at his hometown Sweduro-Abodom. This is in the Central Region of Ghana over the weekend.

However, the former President, was accompanied by NDC Central Regional Chairman, Mr. Allotey Jacobs. Also, Mr. Kofi Adams, the Deputy General Secretary for NDC, the former Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah and others.

Moreover, according to Mr. Allotey Jacobs, the former president was highly welcomed by the people of Abodom and most people who stormed the grounds.

Veteran Ghanaian Highlife musician, Nana Kwame Ampadu talks about Super OD. Furthermore, he stated that the late comedian and actor, Asonaba Kwaku Darko must be honoured with a monument.

He made these statements in an interview on Adom TV with Maame Nhyira. Moreover, the musician stated that such a man like Super OD used to take away sorrows and sadness of people with his comedies. Therefore, he needs a monument in his honour.

“He deserves a monument in the country; he trained many actors and his movies touched a lot of hearts.”

Also, Nana Ampadu urged movie actors to watch their ways of life.

“We should be aware that movies touch hearts than political talks. We are celebrities and need to watch our ways. There are things about us that don’t even deserve to be on social media.”

Fuse has education on his mind.

Afro-pop singer, Fuse ODG secured a land at Akosombo in the Eastern Region. This is to build a senior high school and university.

Furthermore, he told NBA player, Luol Deng about his plans. Moreover, he stated that he wants to expand his school, Wood World Mission at Akosombo.

Also, during his interaction with the player, he revealed that the short-term plan for the school is to construct a senior high school.

Furthermore, the manager of the player asked if he would erect a university. He replied “yes, that is the long-term plan.” Also, he pledged to introduce them to the CEO of Ashehi University

Fuse added that most of the children who started the school about years ago will be completing Junior High School in few years. Therefore, they needed to continue to the Senior High School hence his idea to raise building for education at the secondary level.

During the visit to the school, Fuse ODG took Luol Deng and his team to the plot of land allocated for the SHS and university.

He pledged to help the musician with the school.

UK-based afro-Pop singer, Fuse ODG appeals to Ghanaians to appreciate the power and value of their music.

Furthermore, he said they have to stop overhyping the Black Entertainment Television, (BET) awards.

Moreover, his remarks come after no Ghanaian musician received a BET Awards nomination.

He made these statements on Starr Drive. Also, he said the BET awards should not be the measurement of the success of Ghanaian Music.

“I don’t think BET should be the measurement of success or how great our music is. Some of the greatest Musicians never received an award, Bob Marley is one of the greatest musicians but he never received an award. I think we need to stop praising these platforms and start building our own platforms and reward our artists.

BET is not here and they don’t understand what goes on here in Ghana, they are not real, they don’t respect Africa in the first place. They are not here helping us build schools, they are not here helping us build our economy. The only time they are jumping at Africa is because of the Black Panther movie, Ghana has influenced African music worldwide and BET is not going to be the measurement as to how influential Ghanaian music is.” 

 

Singer, Raquel talks about being a celebrity. Furthermore, she stated that the celebrity life isn’t as exciting. She stated that the glamour and attention seem very exciting and can easily lead to envy, However, it isn’t all about a colourful celebrity lifestyle.

If thousands of people can talk about what I do in my life, then I should take advantage of that to drive a positive agenda and that is what I have done these years, to use my music to spread the message of love in my songs.”

“I think there is room for everyone to shine so there’s no need to compete with one another. My works may not be public now but I have been working behind the scenes to become a better artiste.

For instance, I have been taking lessons in voice coaching and stage crafting for more than seven months now and it is all to help me be a better artiste and my fans can testify when I drop my new album soon.”
