Elder Mireku Urges Gospel Musicians To Be Humble

Elder Mireku has words for the gospel musicians.

Veteran gospel musician, Elder Dr K. Mireku advises the current crop of contemporary gospel musicians. Furthermore, he says they have to be humble and live a life of righteousness in order to excel in the music ministry.

Moreover, he gave this advice when he joined Brother Emmanuel Arthur in a praise and worship programme.

Elder Mireku’s charge to gospel musicians

Also, he charged gospel singers to set themselves apart. Furthermore, this was in order to be used by God.

Moreover, he assured them that they will see the provision of God in their ministries. This is irrespective of the challenges they might encounter in the ministry. He used himself as a living testimony of God’s faithfulness to His children.

Other gospel musicians who ministered at the programme were Braa Kwaku, Eunice Coffie, Mark Glover Vigbedor, Paa Sammy, Alexandra Aboagye, Esther Addo, O. B. Nartey of Vision 1 Live Worship fame and Emmanuel Moore.

‘Altar Experience’ is the brainchild of Brother Emmanuel Arthur. He started it in 2017.

The aim of the program is to bring together gospel singers to lead God’s flock to the altar through praise and worship songs.

I Didn’t Abandon My Son – Father of Nana Aba Anamoah’s Son Speaks

Awards-winning broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah and her son have been trending for days now. As we reported earlier, Nana Aba shared of photo of herself and her son on IG days ago. The photo won the admiration and comments from most of her followers.

However, the post was taken down yesterday and the reason was that a man, claiming to be the boy’s father has popped up.

Well, as usual, when Ghanaians heard of this news, they didn’t take it lightly with the man at all.

He was lambasted for the fact that he had to impregnate Nana Aba at a tender age and later elope without taking charge of his fatherly responsibilities.

At least, that’s the story we all knew as was told by Nana Aba sometime ago. She once admitted in 2016 that she got pregnant when she was in Senior High School and stated that she does not want to talk about the man.

However, reports further stated that the man after impregnating her abandoned her and the baby. Hence Nana Aba had to raise the boy, Paa Kow as a single parent. For this reason even the boy bears Nana Aba’s surname ‘Anamoah’

So when he finally popped out claiming to love his son, he received the criticism of his life.

The man, identified as Richard Brown, aka Osebo uploaded the image Nana Aba had shared. He captioned it “Daddy luvs u so much my son. God knows I really do son”. This brought him to the prying eyes of the media.

Richard Brown

Richard Brown followed it up another photo of the boy captioned “U r my blood and I luv u so much no matter what my son ??.”

But Nana never gave up and kept on ‘grinding’ for a better life for herself and her son. Now she is regarded as one of the top female journalists in the country if not the best and highly valued.

However, the saga has taken a new twist as the father has also come out with his version of the story. According to a report by Ghanacelebrities.com, Nana Aba’s story is far different from the real truth.

According to Ghanacelebrities.com, a source close to Mr Brown is pleading with Ghanaians to listen to both sides of the story first. Then they can go ahead and judge for themselves.

The source hinted that Richard Brown did not decide to just quit and leave his son without taking care of him. Rather, that was Nana Aba Anamoah’s decision to simply cut the father off even though the son loves him very much.

In his narration, he says that a long time ago Brown was taking care of Paa Kow when he was still a child. Thus; paying his school fees at the Silicon Valley school, taking care of him and paying occasional visits.

However, things fell apart when Nana Aba Anamoah travelled to the U.K sometime back and called Osebo for some money. But Osebo told Nana Aba that the time to pay his child’s school fees were due so he would settle that first. Then he would find some additional money and send to her later but that reportedly pissed off Nana Aba.

That was the moment the center couldn’t hold and she unloaded on Osebo that she does not even need anything from him. Adding that he can go to hell and should never contact either her or their son again.

From the information gathered from the source, that was the initial break between him[Osebo] and the son[Paa Kow]. Notwithstanding, he still made several efforts to make things right and continue to take care of the son but Nana Aba rebuffed them all.

He reportedly sent gifts through two intermediaries to be given to his son.  A worker at Metro TV whom Nana Aba knew and another friend.  But Nana Aba reportedly got pissed off anytime she became aware of these.

Osebo, the source and others then resorted to visiting Nana Aba’s home for a meeting with her parents. However, in full view of her parents, Nana Aba sacked them all claiming she wasn’t interested in solving issues with him.

The father, we also learned, on a few occasions managed to find ways to communicate with the son. But every time she[Nana Aba] found out, she blocked his number. Nana Aba herself however, had attested to this once when she appeared on the Delay Show.

After numerous attempts were all cut off by the mother, Osebo felt he had no choice but to step back. That led to him missing out on his son’s life but he never stopped loving him, the source said.

The source, added that he’s very appreciative to Nana Aba for caring for the boy and always giving him the best. Though he had been cut off from doing his

Though he’s stopped wading into her affairs, he appreciates everything Nana Aba has done taking care of Paa Kow all these years since it must not have been easy but he’s only interested in correcting the perception that he abandoned his own child.

Photos: Social Media Users Deny Rosemond Brown Interview On ‘The Delay Show’

Kumawood actree and video vixen, Rosemond Bron has been making headlines since 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards night.

The actress, during an interview with Joy News MzGee confirmed that she sleeps with ‘big men’ in exchange for real properties and not just renting of apartments.

After the awards night, she began to trend for all the wrong reasons. The first being the dress she wore for the event in which she appeared in braless.

Second being the fact that she allowed a man to kiss her, someone she later openly admitted to not knowing. The last and major one was she calling Moesha Boduong ‘cheap’. According to Rosemond, Moesha is cheap because she sleeps with ‘big men’ just for rent. However, she does so for real properties. Last but not least, she’s been heavily criticised for having a poor accent and not being able to fluently speak the ‘queen’s language’.

Many Ghanaians have since been on her throat, backlashing her for these reasons. Now One of Ghana’s top interviewer wanted to invite Rosemond to her show called ‘The Delay’ Show. This is considering the fact that she’s been given so much spotlight.

This is one of the biggest interviewing shows currently in Ghana, where the hostess, Deloris Frimpong Manso invites celebrities for interviews. She probes and asks all the questions others consider difficult or personal to ask in just a second. For this reason, many refer to her as ‘Ghana’s interview queen’.

Deloris Frimpong Manso, aka Delay, having heard so much about this young lady and mother of one decided to bring her on her show.

However, there’s a new approach before a celeb is interviewed on the show. Thus, before one makes an appearance on the show, you need to pass a vetting by the fans. That’s, the interviewer must get public endorsement before the interview deal can be established.

Unfortunately for Rosemond, the interview was cancelled by some social media users . As well as fans of the celebrated television hostess who failed to approve Delay’s move.

According to the fans, Rosemond Brown is not qualified to appear on the Delay Show. This, majority insisted is because she’s not a celebrity but any ordinary and hungry lady parading herself as ‘slay queen’, pro ‘ashawobrity’.

Hence, Delay in an Instagram post had to reply Rosemond Brown that she’s sorry to squash the interview as a result of discerning fans’ disapproval.

“Awww, I wanted to bring you on the show this weekend but the people are saying “no”. Sorry, darling. Another time.” She wrote.

However, the post has been taken down on Delay’s page, but below is the screenshot by kind courtesy FameBugs.

5 Health Benefits Of Music You Probably Did Not Know

Majority of the human populace listen to and love music. However, only few people know that it actually has health benefits.

Music is an abstract stimulus. While it is not essential for survival, it has persisted through many cultures and generations. It has the ability to bring pleasure to many individuals and affect their emotions.

Besides the basic entertainment music provides to consumers, researchers have found that music plays a huge role in the health on well being of people.

Listening to music increases dopamine, which helps reduce blood pressure. Music improves mental and athletic performance, helps with many aspects of mental health, and even reduces blood pressure.

Although music’s value is not related to an association with any physical reward, its value is still high. Music is its own reward.

Music is also used as therapy, involving musical interaction. Patients listen to music, play instruments, sing and write songs, or even discuss themes related to music.

However, its benefits are mostly dependent on the individual’s perception. Additionally, since it is not possible to have double-blind studies of music’s effects, the results of various trials may be biased.

There are many different types of music. Each different genre causes a different effect.

For example, critical listening of techno music causes a significant increase in heart rate, blood pressure, and stress hormones (like norepinephrine).

Meanwhile, slow tempo music may be beneficial to the heart. Classical music lowers blood pressure, heart rate, and tension.

Ghana can boast of several music genres from traditional music, to high life, afrobeats, hiplife, rap, among others.

Music is used at almost every event or gathering in Ghana. You probably use music in your daily activities, while you’re working, relaxing, biking or generally just living.

Below are five health benefits of music you probably never knew;

1. Eases pain

In studies of patients recovering from surgery, those who listened to music before, during, or after surgery had less pain and more overall satisfaction compared with patients who did not listen to music as part of their care.

2. Reduces stress

Research has shown that listening to ‘relaxing’ music (generally considered to have slow tempo, low pitch, and no lyrics) has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety in healthy people and in people undergoing medical procedures (e.g., surgery, dental, colonoscopy).

When you hear music to your liking, the brain actually releases a chemical called dopamine that has positive effects on mood. Listening to music you enjoy decreases levels of the stress hormone cortisol in your body, which counteracts the effects of chronic stress.

This is an important finding since stress causes 60% of all our illnesses and disease. One study showed that if people actively participated in making music by playing various percussion instruments and singing, their immune system was boosted even more than if they passively listened. To stay calm and healthy during a stressful day, turn on the radio. Be sure to sing along and tap your feet to the beat to get the maximum healing benefit.

3. Improves memory

Research has shown that the repetitive elements of rhythm and melody help our brains form patterns that enhance memory. In a study of stroke survivors, listening to music helped them experience more verbal memory, less confusion, and better focused attention.

It is common to see students use music while they study. For some people, they will be distracted, however, several people have argued and or testified that it is easier for them to recollect when they study with music. Music enjoyment elicits dopamine release. And dopamine release has been tied to motivation, which in turn is implicated in learning and memory.

4. Music helps you eat less

Do you have issues with your eating habit? Do you feel like you eat far beyond your “normal” food consumption, for reason such as panics, stress, emotional trauma, or other reasons? Then worry no more. Music can help you control your eating habits. Research has shown that softening the lighting and music while people ate led them to consume fewer calories and enjoy their meals more. If you’re looking for ways to curb your appetite, try dimming the lights and listening to soft music the next time you sit down for a meal, and you will be more aware of and mindful of fullness cues.

5. Soothes premature babies

Live music and lullabies may impact vital signs, improve feeding behaviors and sucking patterns in premature infants. It may as well increase prolonged periods of quiet–alert states.

Ghana Revenue Authority To Start Taxing Beggars And Hawkers

Beggars to pay taxes.

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) serves notice to street beggars. Furthermore, they plan to tax street beggars as part of moves to widen the tax net.

Also, the exercise will target individuals, especially women selling Dubai Wax prints and other imports.

The Principal Revenue Chief at the Small Tax Payer Office of the GRA spoke about how beggars harvest a lot of daily earnings that fall within the tax threshold.

Beggars and hawkers to pay taxes

“Those who carry things on their heads to sell (hawkers) be it cloth or consumables, we will tax them, how much more people who earn daily.

GRA taxes foreigners in town and by law the beggars fall within the taxable threshold.”

Furthermore, Alhaji Mohammed stressed that those begging as a form of business and a “hobby” should be ready to pay tax on their earnings.

However, Alhaji Yahaya acknowledged that the task was cumbersome. He added it was necessary to widen the tax net in order to pluck more revenue.

He said some of the beggars have assets and are making the “begging business” attractive.

“It is difficult to tax them but if they get the understanding that the income that they are earning, they are supposed to pay something to government it will help.”

8 Essential Elements That Should Never Be Missing From Your Relationship

Just as the saying that there are no roses without thorns, every relationship has its problems. The fact is, these are two very different people who have come together intending to be one. Of course, each one has a different up-bring, background, etc. Hence, there are diverse ways each one sees and understands a particular thing.

That notwithstanding, every relationship needs some vital attributes to keep it stronger, long lasting and more enjoyable for both partners. Some relationships are strong enough to last a lifetime, and it’s not attributed to luck or chance. It all depends on the continuous efforts from both parties and a desire to be together.

Just like you cannot do away with some particular ingredients when cooking some foods, there are certain qualities that should never be missing from a loving partnership. Once they are, it’s only a matter of time until things start to fall apart.

There is no single secret to a long lasting relationship. Instead, it’ll take the efforts plus some other factors from both parties involved to make things work.

Checkout these 7 essential elements every strong relationship should have;

1. Friendship

Friendship, is often the first step to every relationship. You become friends to know more about each other. Here, you get to share your problems, happiness, fears etc with each other. You also get to know some of the strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes about each other, not forgetting the temperaments as well. Hence, a lasting friendship often equals a strong relationship.

2. Teamwork

Don’t forget that, you are no longer single the moment you agree to enter into a relationship with someone. Hence, there are some decisions and choices you’ll have to consult your partner to make together. Your significant other is your partner in life and, therefore, your greatest support system. After all, two heads, they say are better than one. You’ll be much more successful by working with and not against each other.

3. Trust

This is one of the most important elements in every relationship. There are many people in relationships without trust for their partner. This is sometimes due to a past relationship where the other got disappointed perhaps because of too much trust. However, this shouldn’t deter you from trusting your new partner, both are not the same. If friendship is the foundation, distrust is what can seep in between the cracks and make it all crumble. It doesn’t matter if you and your partner check off all the other nine items on this list. Your relationship will not survive without trust. One person’s doubt is enough to drive the rest into the ground no matter how good things are.

3. Respect

Of course, mutual respect is one key element to a long lasting and stronger relationship. Every healthy relationship should be built upon mutual respect. Both parties should recognize each other as equals and should always be open to their partner’s thoughts, beliefs, concerns, and needs. Never consider yourself to be superior than your partner’s.

4. Intimacy

OK, don’t get it all wrong, intimacy is not only limited to sex. Although we all know that sex has become a necessity in a relationship and that it does play a crucial role in relationship success. However, it comes in layers, becoming more authentic and sweeter with time and care. Intimacy requires a deeper understanding of each other that’s far more significant than physical attraction. Don’t forget there are still strong and beautiful relationships out there surviving without sex. I mean, there are countless number of cases out there where relationships have lasted much longer without sex. Both parties will have to know how to define their intimacy and the things to add or subtract from it.

5. Affection

Hey love birds, the honeymoon will soon pass. And so will the phrase of not being able to keep your hands off each other naturally fade over time. But that shouldn’t mean that affection should be completely forgotten. Verbal and physical reminders, such as saying “I love you” and touching when speaking, reinforce your connection. That’s why communication is also an important ingredient. You can always play and tease each other. It’s very healthy for every relationship

6. Communication

Just as mentioned earlier, communication is key in every relationship. How do you settle your disagreements, petty quarrels and misunderstandings, all though communication. Sometimes, you don’t even need to talk, but your actions and gestures will speak for you. Don’t ignore calls from your partner simply because you’re angry at them. Hey, this has cost a lot of good things in some relationships. Just pick up and listen to what they have to say. It could be a matter of life and death. COMMUNICATION IS KEY.

7. Honesty

The second either of you begins hiding things from each other, your relationship will begin to run off track. You should be able to share anything with your SO while receiving love and support in return. Secrets can become cancerous and snowball into further damage. You’ll always carry a sense of guilt as long as you keep things to yourself, and your and your partner’s dynamic is bound to be affected.

8. Support

Gone are the days where men were the ones to pay the bills and women to do the household chores. What’s wrong with a woman paying the bill or adding her money to it for her husband to pay? What about when a man extends a helping hand to his wife in the kitchen or with the chores? It spoils nothing. You should always be each other’s biggest cheerleader. Encourage your partner to go after what they want. Assure them that you’ll be by their side no matter the result. By being excited about each other’s achievements and celebrating even the little things, both parties benefit from a supportive relationship. Support and help each other in both times of good and bad.
