Stop Cyber Fraud – Donzy

Donzy advises the youth.

Hip-life musician, Elias Ewusi Essel, known is showbiz circles as Donzy Chaka, tells the youth to stay away from crime. Furthermore, he said they should stay away from cyber fraud. However, they should focus their energies on education.

According to him, cyber fraud is a problem for the youth.This is because most of them have a get-rich-quick attitude.

He made these statements on Class FM.

“Obviously, I know it’s not a good thing and it’s a bit of a problem for [us] the young guys, most of us the young guys always want to be rich as fast as we can.

For me, I’ll always condemn cybercrime because cybercrime is not a good thing and also the youth should concentrate on education and stay away from cybercrime. When you are caught, you’re a criminal and you know where it can lead you”.

We don’t concentrate on what we’re supposed to do in schools and other things, you see others getting the money quick and you want to do same, at the long run, if things did not go well, we start to blame people for our downfall, I’ll advise any young person who wants to get into cyberfraud to stay away from it”.

Furthermore, Donzy is currently promoting a new single titled ‘Who Is That Girl’. The song features Piesie, B4Bonah, Flyboy, Obra and Dr Cryme.

Trailer For Anas’ Upcoming GFA Exposé ‘Number 12’ Revealed

The days draw closer till the upcoming exposé of Anas.

Furthermore, Ghana football is at risk.

The new documentary, titled ‘Number 12’, debuts on June 6th at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas is back with a bang. Furthermore, the documentary will shock the entire nation as usual.

Also, fliers of the latest undercover expose are viral.

Moreover, “Number 12” will be screened in Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale. This is to give residents in these parts the opportunity to witness it.

Anas vowed to “name, shame and jail” corrupt people who commit atrocities and milk the country dry.

Moreover, Anas indicated people would flee the country. This was in order to avoid the shame and embarrassment coming their way. Therefore, he urged the security agencies to increase surveillance in the coming months ahead of the release of the documentary.

TV Africa expanded its roster as part of the re-branding efforts. Furthermore, this expansion included comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger.

Afia hosts a new program dubbed ‘Political Police’ on the channel. Moreover, ‘Political Police’ is a ‘comic, political fact checking show’.

Afia Schwarzenegger used to host a program on UTV. After, she left to Kasapa FM. For a while, there was speculation that she went back to UTV. However, it seems she has a new home now.

Afia is always showing different hair style. Furthermore, this time she went ahead and cut of all her hair. Now she sports a down cut hair.

We must say it looks good on her. We’re excited to see how she styles it.

No Ghanaian On Nomination List For BET Awards

BET releases the nominations list.

Furthermore, surprisingly no Ghanaian artist was on the list. Moreover, the only Ghanaian who made it to the list is 24-year-old rapper, Stormzy. He a Ghanaian UK-based musician. The English grime and hip-hop artist competes in the Best International Act category. He is there with Davido, Tiwa Savage, Fally Pupa, J Hus and many others.

BET merged this year’s Best International Act: Africa and U.K. Furthermore, this makes the competition very keen. Moreover, in past years, Ghana has been represented by musicians like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, MzVee, and D-Black. Therefore, it is a surprise to many when none of our top musicians made it to this year’s award.

AFRIMA 2018: African Union, Ghana Partner For Calendar Unveiling

On Monday, May 21, 2018, the African Union Commission (AUC) will unveil the 2018 all Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) annual calendar of programmes.

This will be done in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Ghana, and the International Committee of AFRIMA.

This would be done during a world media event and music conference scheduled for Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

This will however be the fifth edition of the AFRIMA since its inception. As part of the agenda for the Calendar Unveiling, a Courtesy Visit to His Excellency, the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The President, is set to receive African delegates and music stars attending the event from around Africa.

They include;

*the Head of Culture, African Union, Mrs. Angela Martins;

*President/Executive Producer, AFRIMA, Mr. Mike Dada;

*Director, Brand Communications, AFRIMA; Ms. Matlou Tsotetsi;

*AFRIMA Regional Director; Western Africa, Mr. Don Obilor,

*the Ghanaian-UK AFRIMA Juror, (representing UK-Diaspora) and BBC-1 show host, Ms. Rita Ray

*and the AFRIMA Country Director, Ghana, Mr. Francis Doku.

Also participating at the event are past AFRIMA nominees and winners, music professionals and executives, and creative/culture industry policy makers.

Members of the media industry and other award-winning recording artistes living in Ghana and in other African countries would also be present.

 

AFRIMA, Africa’s biggest music awards property, will roll out the 2018 calendar under the theme “Africa is Music”. The calendar features back-to-back events traversing several countries in the five regions of Africa.

Some of these planned events include music/culture conferences; country visits to converse with critical music/culture industry stakeholders. As well as high-octane music concerts tagged “Turn Up Africa” .

The objective of this is to connect fans and followers of African music with their favorite Africa music stars of the traditional and contemporary genres.

The All Africa Music Awards is a music property that recognizes and rewards the work and talent of a myriad of African artists from the old to the new generation of musicians.

 

Nayas Taken For Questioning After Assaulting Ernest Opoku

The police picked up Nayas.

Kumawood actress, Nayas assaulted Ernest Opoku. Furthermore, the incident happened at Adom FM‘s studios. The District Command of the Nima Police allegedly arrested her.

Moreover, the police charged her with unlawful entry after going to the premises of Adom FM to attack the musician.

According to police sources, she was also granted bail on Tuesday.

Furthermore, Nayas, born Gladys Mensah Boaku, allegedly entered the studios of the station during a live worship programme. She entered with canes to attack the musician.

The actress narrated her sexual encounter with the gospel musician to the media. Moreover, she stated that he engaged in an affair with her, which resulted in a pregnancy.

A video of the ‘nasty’ encounter circulated after.

In the video, several people gathered at the forecourt of The Multimedia Group trying to calm down Nayas.

A report by Myjoyonline indicated that Ernest Opoku and host of Adom FM’s Live Worship, Kwamena Idan, filed a formal complaint against Nayas at the Nima Police Station.

They filed the complaint and the police have commenced investigations into the issue.

Meanwhile, Ernest Opoku registered his displeasure with security personnel at The Multimedia Group.

I Don’t Want People’s Negative Criticisms To Affect Efya’s Potentials – Mother

Celebrated TV host and mother of songstress, Efya, Nana Adwoa Awindoor, has described as sad the seeming persistent criticisms of her daughter.

As a media person, Nana Adwoa is worried that Efya’s criticisms are deliberately concocted to defame the talented singer.

As a mother, Nana Adwoa says she does not want any of the negative comments to get to her daughter.

The host of the long-running ‘Greetings from Abroad’ was speaking with Edem Knight Tay. This was on the ‘Home Affairs Show’ last Saturday.

Efya has been in the news for allegedly dealing in drugs, which she has constantly denied. The ‘Little Things’ singer’s choice of costumes has also come under scrutiny.

But Nana Adwoa couldn’t fathom why artistes abroad are loved and adored by people across the world, including Ghanaians. Meanwhile these artistes do all sorts of crazy things and live all kinds of lifestyles. But the case is different when it involves an artiste from home.

“I don’t want such comments to disturb her ability to explore and grow in whatever she has chosen to do.” She said.

“I rather look at whatever is being said positively as a mother and guide her accordingly. We seem to be so excited about things when they are foreign but the moment it is local we all go gaga about it,” she added.

She further stated that she does sit her daughter down and talk to her. Adding that she knows the kind of upbringing she had.

“I am not saying I will allow her to walk around naked. My daughter knows the kind of upbringing she had and I sit her down to talk to her.

“I tell her let people appreciate your voice and other ability than to allow them to condemn you because of your outlook,” Nana Awindor said.

The Development Queen of Afigya-Kwabe District, Nana Adwoa Awindor believes her daughter deserves to be celebrated rather than condemned.

News Anchor Abena Owusu Nyamekye Joins Citi TV

Broadcast journalist, Abena Owusu Nyamekye joins Omni Media Limited. Furthermore, she is a young and enterprising news anchor.

Moreover, she will be working with the Citi TV and Citi FM family as news anchor.

Abena started her media career at the now defunct Radio Xtacy in Kumasi. She was a news anchor and reporter in 2008.

Furthermore, in 2012, Abena Joined Kapital Radio. This was another urban radio station in Kumasi as News Anchor/ Reporter. Later, she hosted the station’s Health Programme ‘Your Health.’

She later moved to Solid FM in 2014 (formerly KFM) where she served as the Head of News. Due to her versatility, Abena intermittently hosted the station’s mid-morning show and late night shows.

As a journalist, Abena is passionate about social and health-related issues. Through her social and health programme, she has supported children living with cancer by raising awareness and raising funds to support their treatment.

Before joining Citi FM and Citi TV, she had worked with GH One TV and Starr FM. She anchored and produced news progammes.

Rahim Banda Solicits For Help For ‘Back To School From The Street’ Campaign

Ghanaian actor, Rahim Banda executes the role given to him as Free SHS ambassador. Furthermore, he has his own campaign called “Back 2 School From The Street”. Therefore, he needs help to make this campaign a successful reality.

He made these statements to Zionfelix. Moreover, he sought the help of Zylofon Media and EIB Network.

Furthermore, he stated he submitted a proposal to Zylofon Cash. He stated that he requested billboards from the firm to propagate the “Back 2 School From The Street” message.

“I asked the organisation to help me secure billboards on the five major roads that join to Accra like Tema Motorway, Dodowa-Accra, Aburi-Accra, Kasoa-Accra, Nsawam-Accra. I want these billboards so that when you are entering Accra, you will definitley see our message we want to send to the public.”

Earlier in the year, the government unveiled the young actor as Free SHS ambassador. Moreover, he stated that he sent a proposal to EIB Network, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health. Others are Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Ministry of Gender, 3Music Networks and many other companies.

Also, he stated that Bola Ray promised to help his crusade to convince kids on the streets to be in the classroom. He continued that EIB sponsored the fight with all its media platforms in the country for free advertisement and interviews worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

The actor stressed that he is not taking money to push the campaign. However, he wants “people who are willing to support with logistics.”

The award-winning actor admitted that most street children are not brilliant. However, he added that “classroom does not mean you are learning from the books, technical and vocational schools are also available for them.”

Self-acclaimed Dancehall King Shatta Wale has thrown finally thrown more lights on his brouhaha with his Baby Mama, Michy.

shades at the mother of his son, Shatta Michy in a new post on social media.

The musician in a series of posts on Snapchat has denied ever laying a hand on Michy as she had claimed at the beginning of their controversies.

“I don’t beat girls, I haven’t touched you before and u lie to ppl that I pointed a gun at u, beat u up and all dem lies..What did I do wrong..Thot I was growing the family..” He wrote.

He further accused his former girlfriend of sleeping in different hotels with their son, Majesty.

Already, Michy has been accused by another lady of sleeping with men aside Shatta Wale, hence making her jump from one hotel to another.

Shatta Wale again in his post stated that Michy doesn’t respect neither him nor her own mother. According to him, she was disrespectful towards her mum when she tried to settle the problem they are facing in their relationship.

The ‘Gringo’ crooner added an audio to support his claims. In the audio, a woman, believed to be Michy’s mother was having a conversation with another woman. It seems she wanted to know the whereabouts of her daughter.

She claimed that Michy had left the house after insulting her in the area and even called her a ‘witch’. She however expressed tiredness as long as Michy’s case was concerned, adding that she has done her ‘best as a mother’. And that if Michy wants to mess up her life then that’s her problem.

“I’m very tired, I have done my best as a mother, if she wants to mess up, that’s her own problem, if she doesn’t respect her mother, that’s her life.” She said.

Shatta captioned the audio, ” You don’t respect your mother and you don’t respect your man too-Sleeping in hotels with Majesty .. ungrateful life..”

Be careful how you address and judge people especially if you’ve never interacted with them personally. The Price Of The Wedding Ring John Dumelo Gave His Wife Is Estimated To Cost Between GHC10K-GHC15K

Prolific Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo on Saturday tied the knot with his girlfriend, Gifty Mawunya, in a plush wedding ceremony in Accra.

The wedding ceremony is without doubts a lavish one which attracted a number of top Ghanaian and Nigerian celebrities.

It could so far be referred to as the biggest celebrity wedding of the year.

Ex-president John Dramani Mahama was also there to grace the memorable occasion.

Photos and videos of the wedding have flooded the various social media platforms. One notable among them is the ring John gave his wife.

The beautiful ring as spotted on Instagram is patterned with mini diamond prongs on it. The band of the ring also appears to be made of gold shank.

It is not clear the real price of such a beautiful diamond ring.  However, an article by Ghanafuo.com indicates that Dumelo’s ring to his wife, Gifty is estimated to cost between GHC10,000-GHC15,000.

According to them, the estimated price of the engagement ring was arrived at after countless research online. As well as after contacting some shops across the country.

Budding Ghanaian Songstress Petrah, has disclosed that she will never leave her record label for any other label

According to the  RnB singer, she loves her record label enough not to leave it for any other, not even for Zylofon Media.

Petrah made this revelation in an interview on Touchdown on Live 91.9fm, with host, Regina Van-Helver.

Asked how Petrah’s record label was treating her, she replied saying “Everything is going on smoothly, Manner Records for life”.

Regina further asked if she would like to join Zylofon Media, but she hurriedly answered, “No, I won’t go to Zylofon Media because I love my label”.

Petrah, known in real life as Petra Miriam Tetteh  is a Ghanaian RnB singer.

She is currently signed onto Manner Records and has worked with some top musicians both in and out of Ghana.

Rex Omar Says He Won’t Allow His Children Do Music For A Living

Veteran highlife musician, Rex Omar says he won’t allow his children to do music. Furthermore, he stated that there is no way he is allowing his children depend solely on music to make a living and meet ends.

Moreover, he said the new crop of musicians are just made to appear like they live on extravagance. However, all is not well. Also, beyond the facade they display they are broke musicians.

He made these statements on Cape FM’s Entertainment Xtra. Also, he advised rising musicians to look at other options at generating income. Furthermore, he discouraged them from depending on music exclusively because the industry does not pay well.

John Dumelo And Wife In Church For The First Time As Couple

Ghanaians witnessed what can be termed so far as the celebrity wedding of the year between actor, John Dumelo and his wife, Gifty Mawunya over the weekend.

The colorful and plush traditional marriage ceremony came off at Nkornu in Accra.

The new couple, have since been the talk of the nation, making headlines here and there.

Though not opened to the public, the ceremony was well attended by close friends and families of the couple.

Some top celebrities from Nigeria and Ghana also flooded the Lashibi residence of  Mawunya’s parents for the ceremony.

Former President, John Dramani Mahama, who happens to be a good friend of John Demelo was also there to grace the occasion.

Mawunya is the younger sister of actress Selassie Ibrahim and a bestie of actress Nadia Buari, who was also at the ceremony.

She’s also a trained lawyer who usually base in the UK. Reports have it that she also has some connections to the NDC and former President, John Dramani Mahama.

However, the couple after getting married last Saturday, were in church for the first time as couple.

They visited the Dominion Chapel to thank God for seeing them through a successful marriage.

With both clad in an all white outfit, the couple looked lovely and splendid. From their smiles alone, one could easily tell that they’re happy.

Meanwhile, it is not known if the couple would officially have a white wedding after the traditional ceremony.

However, looking at their plush traditional marriage, we’re sure their white wedding, if they decide to have one could as well be termed the Ghana ‘Royal Wedding’ of our time.

Social Media Trolls Nana Boroo For His Bleached Skin

Ghanaians have no chill towards Nana Boroo.

Hiplife artist, Nana Osei Bonsu popularly known as Nana Boroo was at John Dumelo’s wedding over the weekend. Furthermore, a picture of him and John circulated after the ceremony. Moreover, fans on social media troll the way he looks like in the picture.

This is because in the picture his skin looks lighter than ever. Therefore, this leads Ghanaians to conclude that his skin is bleached.

In an Instagram post, Boroo was in a picture with Mr Dumelo. However, there are a lot of funny comments by fans and followers under the picture.

Golden Movie Awards Africa 2018 Slated For June 2

The 2018 edition of the annual Golden Movie Awards Africa(GMAA) will come off on June 2, 2018.

With We are left with barely three weeks to the event. However, organizers have assured that all is in place for this event to be a successful one. According to them, the event will bring together film makers across the continent to celebrate and award deserving film makers.

Venue for the even is the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel. The red carpet starts at 4:00 pm while the show starts at 7:30pm.

Meanwhile the nomination announcement will be held in Cote d’Ivoire on the 20th of May 2018. The various categories of the qualified films will be announced on that day.

According to the “I Want To See You My Father” hitmaker, things were not easy for him when he started his musical career.

He added that, he was aware of the herculean task ahead of him, that’s why he came out with ‘Champion No Bi Easy’ some years ago.

“It wasn’t easy when I ventured into music. By God’s grace my life has changed,” he stated.

He also spoke about the new trend of the music industry, stating that everything is now all about online.

“The way things are done now is different; people don’t buy CDs any more. It is all about online. You won’t get money if you are not invited for shows or if you do not embark on musical tours.” King Ayisoba noted.

King Ayisoba also hinted that he will launch his next album in Sunyani on June 3, 2018.

Background

King Ayisoba born Albert Apoozore is a Ghanaian traditional musician known for his unique style of music alongside the Kologo.

He hails from Bongo Soe, in the Upper East Region of Ghana. King Ayisoba used to play and sing along with the late Terry Bonchaka, before Terry’s death.

In 2007, he won the ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Traditional Song of the Year’ awards at the Ghana Music Awards.

Some of his songs include, Wicked Leaders, Africa Needs Africa, Modern Ghanaians, Mbhee, and so many others.
