Huawei To Award King Promise, Other VGMA Nominees Despite Their Lose

Huawei Ghana has said they intend to reward several other musicians for their good works and contributions towrds Ghana Music. This according to them is despite their loss at the recently held Ghana Music Awards.

The company started with this initiative on April 21 by rewarding Patapaa Amisty.

They rewarded Patapaa Amisty the Most Popular Song of The Year at the just ended Music Magic Comedy (MMC) Live Concert.

Patapaa was awarded a Huawei smart phone as his price at the National Theatre.

Marketing Manager for Huawei Ghana, Dennis Laryea has disclosed that his outfit believes in creative persons so has decided to encourage them.

He continued that Patapaa’s award presented to him at the (MMC) event was the first of the several awards they will be giving to entertainers in the coming days.

When asked why they honoured only Patapaa leaving King Promise, Kumi Guitar and other musicians who also bagged nominations at the 19th edition of VGMAs but walked home with nothing,

Mr. Laryea told Zionfelix, host of the mid-morning show that plans are far advanced to give the ‘Selfish’ singer an award due to his good works as an artist.

This was when he was asked why they’ve rewarded only Patapaa. Meanwhile there were others like King Promise, Kumi Guitar etc. These artistes also bagged several nominations at the 19th edition of the VGMAs, yet walked empty handed.

“We would embark on this activity to recognize creative people who have done a lot but are not being rewarded. What we did with Patapaa is just the first of the many we will be doing in the coming days. And I think Ghanaians are welcoming it. Fortunately, on that night we honored Patapaa. We had King Promise performing so we had a long chat and I believe he will also be having his soon.” Dennies Laryea stated.

He also explained why the ‘One Corner’ hitmaker was surprised with the Most Popular Song Of The Year honors award.

Mr. Laryea revealed that; “We are all aware that Patapaa did a good job last year. We feel his song went very far. Huawei works with a lot of Chinese and they all love the song One Corner. So to motivate him, we felt like doing this for him to know that Ghanaians appreciate his talent.”

The Marketing Manager who was not willing to disclose items given to the musician only said Patapaa was presented a latest Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 phone adding that other products “are between the musician and our company.”

Huawei is a global leader in telecoms with a great range of products including mobile phones, tablets, wearables, broadband devices and home devices.

Ghanaians Should Shut Up About Nana Appiah Mensah’s Source Of Wealth – Bulldog

Head of A&R for music at Zylofon Media, Hanson Nana Asiamah, aka Bulldog has sounded a strong warning to Ghanaians who are questioning the source of his boss’ wealth.

Bulldog on Celebrity Fanzone last Saturday said he couldn’t fathom why Ghanaians keep asking for the source of Nana Appiah Mensah’s wealth.

As a result, he bluntly stated that “Ghanaians should shut up” when he was asked by co-host Chantelle Asante how his boss is funding his numerous business ventures. He added that since no one knows the source of wealth of other business owners out there, then Ghanaians should as well stop’ hating’ on Nana Appiah and allow him do his works.

“Why are people concerned with the source of the guy’s money? Ghanaians should shut up. I don’t know where your boss is making his money from. I never ask. People should just shut up. We live in a space where we hate.”

“You see Nana Appiah Mensah is doing something that a lot of people had the opportunity to do, people who own media houses and all that and they did not do. All of a sudden, the gentleman is here and doing a lot of good stuff and everybody wants to descend on him,” Bulldog stated.

He, however, revealed that his boss has been a gold dealer for the last six years, cautioning against unnecessary suspicions.

“My boss is a gold dealer and he is been doing this since 2012. We question people unnecessarily. Somebody is here to help. We keep doing this and people would fold up,” he argued.

Nana Appiah Mensah is the CEO of Zylofon Media. Aside this, he has other numerous businesses including Menzgold among others.

However, the business mogul has been confronted with the same question time without number by a section of Ghanaians; the source of his wealth.

Being so young, yet so rich and business minded, Ghanaians could only think of how he made his money and how he’s able to fund his numerous investments.

But Bulldog will have none of those, describing his boss as the ‘Jesus Christ’ of our time.

“Nana Appiah Mensah is the ‘Jesus Christ’ of our time. What he is doing 61 years of Ghana’s independence nobody has done it and after him nobody will come like him,” he said.

Stop Wasting Your Youthful Days On ‘Old Men’ – Mensah Otabil Admonishes Ghanaian Ladies

Dr. Mensah Otabil, has admonished the Ghanaian youth, especially women, to stop wasting their youthful days on ‘old men.’

The founder and general overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), has drawn the attention of the youth on some topical issues.

According to the outspoken preacher, it is prudent for the youth to make good use of their opportunities and potentials in times of abundance.

Preaching on the topic ‘Abundance’, Pastor Mensah Otabil said as there are years of abundance, so there will be years of scarcity.

Otabil’s sermon comes on the back of actress Moesha Boduong’s statement to the CNN on sex and love around the world.

The man of God has therefore cautioned young ladies to be ‘wise’ while in their youth so they don’t regret and hop from one church to the other to seek the face of God when no man is coming their way at old age.

The motivational speaker went on to use young beautiful lady analogy. He stated that a lot of ladies become very silly in their youth when they have abundance of beauty and make very silly mistakes about their future.

Abundance comes, maybe when you have abundance of beauty. …Sometimes you see an 18-year-old, 19-year-old, 20-year-old young lady going out with a 55-year-old man. You have abundance of beauty, but you are not harnessing your moment well because one of these days, you’ll be 35[-years-old] and at 35, you’d realise: ‘Wow, I wasted my time on that old man!’ Now every young man who should have married you, thinks you are old, used, and discarded. That’s when people [ladies] start going to church, worshipping, fasting and praying and hoping that God will turn things around.

Abundance becomes abundance of strength, abundance of beauty, abundance of job opportunities – when you have so much, people are giving you jobs or abundance of time, when you are young, you have so much time, or abundance of popularity. Don’t ever deceive yourself that the years of abundance will be forever. There will be a year of scarcity as predictable as the years of abundance are,” he warned.

Pastor Otabil also advised young people to use warily, whatever they have in abundance to cushion themselves against the days of scarcity.

Don’t be wasteful; don’t spend all your money on perishable and depreciating commodities. Spending money buying cars, buying clothes, which devalue over time, and not appreciate in value. Be wise,” he advised.

Bernard Aduse-Poku on homosexuality

Moreover, he continued that he would have hurriedly condemned the act. However, because he traveled outside Ghana his views changed. This is because the laws of America states that the sex life of a fellow should not be another person’s problem since it does not trample on his freedom.

Therefore, to him, he is straight so he has no problem with another human being who has decided to be a gay.

However, he made it clear that he would never think of changing his sex life to join homosexuals. Also, the host asked if he will allow his son to be gay if he wants to since he sees nothing wrong with the act. He replied that “my son can never tell me he wants to be gay”.

Also, he continued that he is an African. Therefore, he is nurturing his year old son with the African value. Therefore, this will prevent him from becoming gay in future.

Tramadol Facilitates My Bouts Of Sex, Makes Me High – Old Fadama Boys Share Their Experiences

Tramadol best known as ‘Tramol’ has become a household name among most Ghanaian youths due to its incessant abuse.

As its abusers will say, it gets them into another realm when they take it. Not even knowledge about the effects of the drug is not enough to deter them completely from taking it.

Ace broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah has been talking to some youths at Old Fadama, a suburb in Accra about the drug.

Most of these youth confirmed being addicted to Tramol, they also shared their struggles in overcoming this addiction.

This drug has kept the FDA and health experts on their toes for over a period now. This is due to the  devastating effects it is having on Ghanaians.

These guys also shared their stories on what the drug does for them despite knowing its numerous side effects. One of the guys, even after seeing a number of his friends die from seizures and the likes after taking as many as four sachets of the drug still takes it for pleasure.

That guy goes by the name, Kojo S.K, one of the ‘boys-boys’ who resides at Old Fadama. For him, he takes the Tramadol on a day he has a ‘match’ with his girlfriend and occasionally when he has some cash to spare and wants to hang out with friends.

According to Kojo S.K he can last as long as ” 3 to four hours non-stop” in his sexual bout with his girlfriend and he explained and it’s all ‘thanks’ to the energy Tramadol provides.

“I don’t just take the drug, I take it to boost my sexual escapades, I’m able to go three to four hours non-stop when I take the drug, it gives me energy. I’m 25 years old, I take it occasionally when I’m going to meet my girlfriend and or hang out with friends for fun…….I’ve seen a lot of my friends die as a result of this drug, some take as many as four sachets. Many of them have seizures and fall into the Korle Lagoon.”

“I don’t often take tramadol, but when I do I feel good and I sleep very well after my rounds” he noted.

That’s just one story, from the ‘hood boys’ in the area. ‘Horror’ as he identifies himself, on his part takes tramadol as a hustler to work through the day without feeling tired.

“I feel the drug Tramol, it gives me energy and without it, I’m unable to fight back when I’m bullied in the course of my job”, the 23-year-old hustler told GH One’s Nana Aba Anamoah on ‘State of Affairs’.

“2 doses of the 250mg tabs will get me through a day, carting goods for people. I feel down when I don’t take it but I’m re-energised when I take it. I ended up on the floor one time after taking it. I’ve read about it and I know I have to stop taking it but when I stop for about 5 days, I feel sick and cold, I only become all sorts of happy again after I take it”, he continued.

The source of my drugs he said, are “drug stores and the Abochi guys who sell….the pharmacists will sell for you just like they will sell paracetamol to you”, he narrated.

DJ Bro Joe is able to walk around 2 days without blinking an eye after taking the drug for his job (Disk Jockyeing).

“I was a shy person and I needed to take the drugs for boldness and energy to move the crowd, a friend introduced me to it but I realized that after taking the drug in the evening, I’m unable to sleep, sometimes for two whole days and it wasn’t helping me so I stopped”.

These guys, despite the so called ‘good works’ the drug does for them, expressed their fears for its side effects.

They called on government to take stringent measures to stop the import of the drug into the country and ban the sale of it on the market. The unavailability of the drug to purchase they believe will dissuade them and help them get over their dependence on it.

“Those bringing in the drugs, why are they not being prevented? And why is it accessible just anybody? Because it is being allowed, some people think it is normal to take just because you won’t see the immediate effect of the drug”, S.K. quizzed.

“I would wish that the sale of the drug is banned on the market so we don’t get access then only can we learn to control ourselves and stop taking it altogether. Once it’s available, its really hard to stop taking”, Horror stated.

What is Tramadol?

Tramadol is the generic name for a prescription pain reliever sold under the brand names Ultram, Conzip, Rybix ODT, and Ultram ER.

Doctors prescribe tramadol to treat moderate to severe pain in adults.

Tramadol comes as a tablet, and as an extended-release tablet or capsule to treat around-the-clock pain.

It’s in a class of pain drugs called opiate narcotic analgestics, which work by changing the way your brain responds to pain. It may increase levels of the neurotransmitters norepinepherine and serotonin.

The introduction of Tramadol, according to medical experts, functions like heroin. It can therefore cause psychotic problems as well as damage vital organs in the human body if abused.

Its use has raised much concerns as alarming figures of abuse and loss of lives have been recorded as a result of the drug.

Recent surveys have shown that the drug is being abused by some youth, as well as some market women, drivers and in some cases students.

Findings have shown that Tramadol abuse has killed more people than heroin and cocaine.

The Food and Drugs Authority and the health Ministry are making efforts to deal with the situation. Joint efforts with security agencies are also being made to arrest and bring to book persons dealing in the sale of Tramadol in various parts of the country.

The volume approved by the FDA to be sold is 50mg and 100mg. However, much as 250mg is being sold on the markets.

Moesha Boduong’s Full Interview With CNN’s Christiane Amanpour’s ‘Sex and Love Around the World’ Documentary

International Journalist, Christiane Amanpour’s documentary on ‘Sex and Love Around the World’ has been aired in full on CNN.

The interview made major headlines few days ago in the country when an excerpt with actress Moesha Boduong was aired.

In that part, Moesha was heard admitting she’s dating a married man because of the cumbersomeness of the Ghanaian economy.

According to Moesha, Ghana’s economy is so difficult that single women are compelled to date rich married men for survival.

This however, did not go down well with most Ghanaian celebrity women who descended heavily on her for tagging all of them as part of that act.

The interview, which obviously wasn’t centered on Ghana alone has that of the Ghanaian interviewees on its season 1 episode 6.

In that edition, Christine Amanpour also interviewed presiding Archbishop and General Overseer of the Action Chapel International (ACI), Nicholas Duncan-Williams.

If You’re So Fond Of Mentor Leave The VGMA And Go Compete In It — George Quaye

George Quaye fires back at Patience Nyarko.

Charterhouse Communications Manager George Quaye slams gospel singer Patience Nyarko. Furthermore, this was after she dissed the just ended VGMA’s. Moreover, she claimed she had been cheated.

Nyarko was unhappy about losing the Gospel Song of the Year award to Joe Mettle. Therefore, she said that even TV3’s Mentor was better than the VGMAs.

“I was clearly robbed… I think TV3’s Mentor programme is very credible than the VGMA.”

In response, George Quaye slammed her. Also, he asked her to enroll in ‘Mentor’ if she loved it so much.

George Quaye’s comments about Patience Nyarko

“It’s her opinion… I didn’t know Patience Nyarko was interested in participating in Mentor, may be TV3 should consider putting her on and I’m sure she would make a good contestant.”

TV3’s Mentor Credible Than VGMA – Patience Nyarko

VGMA brouhaha isn’t over.

Gospel songstress, Patience Nyarko discredits the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). Furthermore, she termed it as bogus and full of deception.

Patience alleged that she was robbed of the awards.

She made this statement on Power 97.9 FM.

Moreover, her song ‘Obi nnyane me’ was nominated to the best Gospel song of the year category. However, it lost the award to Joe Mettle’s ‘Boo noni’. Also, she did not win the Gospel Artiste of the year award.

However, in the interview Patience Nyarko said she was shortchanged.

“I was clearly robbed. ..I think TV3’s Mentor programme is very credible than the VGMA.

Gospel is not about awards but you know, the awards are to motivate. I am not depending on the awards though. I believe the hypocrisy has become too much and I will not keep quiet because as a Christian, you don’t have to keep things to yourself but voice it out.”

Moreover, according to her, ‘Di Asa’ on Atinka TV is credible than Charterhouse’s award scheme. She said in the past, she did not talk about her loss because he thought she was becoming better by the day and hoped her hit song, ‘Obi nnyane me’ would win an award.

Furthermore, they asked her if she would want to be part of the VGMA after discrediting the annual event. She replied

“I will speak but if Charterhouse thinks I have spoken out and for that matter they won’t nominate me again that’s fine.”

It looks like Patapaa is going to be enjoying from his past glories for a very long time.

His luck continues to shine despite losing out on the ‘Most Popular Song of the Year’ award at the recent  VGMAs.

The Swedru-based artiste’s ‘One Corner’ song lost to his Northern counterpart, Fancy Gadam’s ‘Total Cheat’.

This, however, is not the first time Mr. Eazi has shown interest in helping Patapaa. He made it known after this year’s Ghana Music Awards that he would lend a helping hand to him after his big lost.

8 Signs That Tell You Your Relationship Is One The ‘Red Line’

Things happen to all couples for better or for worse, but gauging where you two stand is an important aspect of maintaining a healthy relationship. In this article, we are going to move from lighthearted topics like maintaining and adding spice to a relationship, to the harsher side of how to dissect and analyze a rocky relationship.

1. You’re arguing constantly

When you do try to communicate about things, it turns into a fight. Even the small things seem difficult to talk about now. Conflicts escalate quickly and are frequent. They may even be happening in front of the kids. Consider this is a clear sign to get help.

2. You Two Can’t Agree On Anything

She wants red, you want blue. She likes bananas, you like melons. He likes action movies, you are a more romantic type. He likes video games, you like doing your nails. These differences are completely normal. I mean seriously, who wants to date someone who is exactly like you. The above is perfectly healthy in a relationship unless it really starts getting in the way, like being unable to decide where the money goes, or what to do for tonight. If there is a heated argument every time the two of you try to decide on what to do or how to do something because you have differing opinions, you have a problem.

3. You discover that your partner is keeping secrets

Secrets are toxic and create an atmosphere that breeds mistrust, anger and resentment. Maybe secrets are being kept about the way money is spent or how financial decisions are made. Perhaps it’s a secret about maintaining frequent contact with an ex-partner.

4. Lack Of Trust

This is one is a major signs that something is wrong. Relationships cannot prosper if both partners cannot trust each other in all manners, or at least come clean on matters they cannot trust the other on (and work on them!). Put together a list of everything you couldn’t trust your significant other with. If it starts to look like a long laundry/grocery list you might have a problem.

5. You’re giving each other the silent treatment frequently

You both have given up on trying to communicate with each other. There’s an issue and neither of you bother anymore to try to resolve it. You’ve reached the stage in your relationship where you’ve decided there’s no point in communicating about issues as they likely never get resolved. You don’t feel understood or heard so you’ve given up.

6. Presence Causes Negativity

Going even further into the extreme of rocky/doomed relationships. Being next to them, hearing their name, or even just thinking of them breaks your mood or bring about a feeling of negativity, anxiousness, or tension. The above feeling is totally natural if one of the partners is angry or annoyed. It will pass, you may attempt to wisely facilitate its departure if you will.

However if both of you are of clear mind/neutral emotion and still find the negativity/anxiety/tension when you are with or thinking of the other, you better sit down and think of the why. “She has a short fuse”, “He usually gets home drunk”, and “He always gets intrusive/defensive whenever I am without him” are all possible examples of negatives that linger after their occurrence. I cannot say it enough, be objective in figuring out the why and act upon it. If you cannot pardon or find ways to live with or fix the current issue, then your relationship might be running aground.

 7. No Forgiveness, Just Fighting

This one is a given. There are no breaks for happiness for the two of you, there is just fighting, bickering, and begrudgingly doing things together. With that said, I’m not talking about “Play Fighting” where both partners insult each other for the fun of it, I’m talking where there is a constant escalation of negativity between both parties. This is made extra worse every time something else from the past gets brought up (which it will) and the scenario leaps out of control and both parties gain nothing but anger from it.

My advice is to remain objective and to have both parties come forward and state their issues at the forefront and calmly discuss them. If things start to get heated or escalate; the conversation ends there and starts again on another day. Usually, as soon as one person gets heated or angered, almost all forms of communication become ineffective.

8. There Are More “Bad Times” Than “Good Times”

Think back on the last 30 times you were with your partner, did most of them end negatively or had more annoyance/sadness than general happiness? If not then your relationship might have entered a vicious cycle or pattern that needs to be broken if there is any chance for the two of you to survive. Look back onto the situations and find what is causing them. Your goal is to find the problem and work with your partner towards a solution together. Objectivity is key to avoid getting too personal.

6 Ways To Grow Beards Naturally And Faster

Throughout history, beards have symbolized power and masculinity. But, the problem with them is how long they take to grow. Some men are blessed with fast-growing facial hair, while others may struggle with slow-growing or patchy whiskers. The rate that your facial hair grows depends mostly on genetics, but if you are anxious for your beard to come in, there are a few tricks you can try to maximize growth rate and fullness.

Check them out below;

1. Certain vitamins and minerals help increase the speed at which facial hair grows. Include Vitamins A, B, C and E in your diet as they speed up the hair growth process.

2. Increase the amount of protein in your diet. The protein found in meat, fish, eggs and nuts will help the hair on your face grow quicker.

3. Refrain from shaping or trimming your hair very often. Groom your beard only after six weeks when it is full grown.

4. Eucalyptus helps promote facial hair growth, so use a moisturiser with eucalyptus as the main ingredient and massage it on your face to grow your beard faster.

5. Make sure you sleep well as this will help repair damaged skin cells and promote beard growth.

6. The popular logic that shaving every day makes beards grow faster is a myth. There is no scientific research to prove it.

So everyday the #sarkeffect #sarkeffect you guys dey talk no, only one nomination for a whole transformer. This is very bad.

This however didn’t go down well with some of his fans as well as those of Sarkodie. Most of them asked him to delete the post but the rapper stood by his comments. Adding that he had waited for years just to make a mark and here is what he got.

However, the ‘Transformer’ crooner has told MzGee at the just ended awards that, his tweet was totally misinterpreted.

According to him he “wasn’t necessarily saying that his management is not doing enough.”

He further clarified that, “I’m directing the arrow towards some people. When I do well, they attribute everything to Sark effect, but the moment something is wrong, they say the artiste is bad.”
