Stop Consulting ‘Mallams’ – Nana Tornado Warns Delay

Nana Tornado has some words for Delay.

Actor Emile Wood, known as Nana Tonardo made some serious and damning allegations against his former employer. This is Delay known privately as Deloris Frimpong Manso.

Furthermore, the actor was on the Celebrity Ride with Zionfelix show.

Moreover, he told Zionfelix that Delay is ‘mad’. This was after they asked him whether it was Delay who made him who he is now.

Furthermore, the father of one heated up when the conversation about delay was on going. He went to the extent of reigning insults on her. According to him, the TV Presenter was dying out of frustration.

Also, in his allegations, Tonardo claimed he had visited about 5 churches. He claimed all pastors told him Delay is visiting various ‘juju’ men in a bid to bring him down but all have failed.

Therefore, he says if she doesn’t not stop visiting these “mallams”, the end result for her will be madness.

Also, the host asked whether he regrets choosing Delay over Afia Schwarzenegger years back when the latter said goodbye to the TV series. Nana Tornado revealed that he really feels sad, repentant, disappointed over his decision to stay away from Afia Schwarzenegger.

Moreover, he said this was due to Delay’s selfishness to keep him all to herself. Therefore, she asked him to choose between her  and Afia.

Charter House Replies Pataapa Over VGMA Snub

Charter House addresses Pataapa.

Head of Communication at Charter House, George Quaye dismissed claims by Pataapa. Furthermore, it was about whether or not the organisers of this year’s VGMA had a say in the award of the Most Popular Song of the Year category.

Moreover, his comment comes on the back of allegation by Patapaa. His song ‘One corner’ hit song was tipped to win the award. However, he didn’t win it/

Patapaa accused Charter House of taking “stupid money” to overlook him.

He reacted to Patapaa’s allegation on the Executive Breakfast Show on Class91.3FM.

George Quaye’s reaction to Pataapa’s claims

“It is unfortunate for Patapaa to suggest that there have been some kind of financial influence, that who influenced who? That the person influenced the public or the person influenced the academy or the person influenced the board because I don’t know who on the board anybody can influence, it’s not possible.

So at which point did who influence who? The only way you can influence the public is to probably buy credit for people to vote for you, that is about the only way you can influence anyone but aside that, I don’t know.”

A section of Ghanaians took to social media to criticise Charter House for not awarding the Most Popular Song of the Year to Patapaa’s one corner song. However, Mr Quaye quizzed “did you vote”?

Peeved Patapaa Accuses VGMA Board Of Taking “Stupid Money” To Rob Him

One award that has sparked uproar on social media at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards  (VGMAs) 2018 is the most popular song of the year.

Many expected Patapaa Amisty to win the award with his ‘One Corner’ song based on how long the song trended for. As well as how it went viral across the country and beyond.

However, they were disappointed when the award landed in the hands of Tamale based artiste, Fancy Gadam with his ‘Total Cheat’ song.

In the course of the event, Patapaa Amisty was reported to have stormed out of the events grounds when he lost to Fancy Gadam.

Peeved, he went om to accuse Chatter House, organizers of the awards of taking money to rob him of his award.

According to him, he completely deserved to win the Most Popular song category, insisting his ‘one corner’ single was more popular than any other song in the year under review.

“They [VGMA board] have to stop those things they’ve been doing. If someone deserves an award, you have to give it to him based on his output. They don’t have to take any stupid money to give an award to an undeserving artiste,” the singer said.

“If you look from the inside, most of the people were even shouting that the award should come to me, Patapaa,” he added.

“Most of the fans were not happy that they have the award to Fancy Gadam, but all the same they tomorrow they will hear from me on air.” He said

The 2018 VGMA came off last Saturday at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The late dancehall star, Ebony Reigns posthumously scooped the flagship Artiste of the Year award. She becomes the first female and perhaps the youngest artiste to win the awards since its inception.

Gender Ministry Slams Moesha Boduong

The Ministry of Gender and Social Protection slams Moesha Boduong. Furthermore, this is for her comments on CNN. Moreover, this angered a major section of the Ghanaian populace for the past few days.

Furthermore, the minister, Otiko Djaba, slammed Moesha for her statements. This is because it painted all Ghanaian women in a manner quite objectionable on the world stage.

However, the Ministry said Moesha’s comments inaccurately portray the actions of millions of hardworking Ghanaian women.

Read full statement from the Gender Ministry

RE: MINISTRY OF GENDER, CHILDREN & SOCIAL PROTECTION CONDEMNS & DISASSOCIATES GHANAIAN WOMEN FROM MOESHA BODUONG’S INTERVIEW ON CNN

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has monitored the comments made by Ms. Moesha Boduong, a Ghanaian actress, on CNN with dismay and dissatisfaction. We wish to dissociate Ghanaian women from the comments of Ms. Moesha Boduong. Ms. Moesha has the right to discuss her lifestyle on any platform. However, she doesn’t represent the multitudes of hardworking Ghanaian women putting in 10 – 18 hours a day in the fields, markets and offices across Ghana, to put food on the table, find shelter for their children and guide their families through the turbulence of life to the extraordinary vision of “A Ghana Beyond Aid”, which is within our reach.

In the face of the giant strides that women from all walks of life in Ghana are making to assert their independence, re-discover their pride and assert their self-esteem, the sweeping generalizations made by Ms. Moesha on international prime time television have invariably done great damage to Ghanaian womanhood, apart from casting Ghanaian men as predatory, uncaring and rapacious. On behalf of Ghanaian women and men, the Ministry condemns Moesha’s statements and in particular her generalizations, which are unjustified.

More from the statement from the ministry

Our outrage situates in Ms. Moesha’s presumption to tar many Ghanaian women with this mercenary behavior. She made it worse by blaming her excessive, lavish lifestyle on the economy of Ghana. Ghana is a developing country. However, her citizens are striving hard to create an environment. The environment in which all citizens can achieve their aspirations with a measure of dignity and respect. Our economy cannot be blamed if a minute minority of Ghanaians decide to live opulent, flamboyant and amoral lifestyles without any discernible means of livelihood.

Indeed, Ghanaian women are considered the engine of growth in the informal sector because of their contributions, tenacity, creativity, sacrifice and hard work in the face of all their challenges. The various Government policies, legislation and poverty reduction interventions for females since independence to date are designed to transform their lives and protect them from various abuses. This is development in progress, as we better enforce laws to reduce inequalities and strengthen institutions for equity, access to eduction, financial and productive inclusion.

We wish to appeal to our international friends and partners, especially media organizations including CNN, to respect our structures and contact established national agencies like the Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection, Ministry of Culture and Information when they are producing programmes on Gender and Social Issues in Ghana. We have no desire to obstruct the freedom of these media organizations in their selection of subjects and resource persons, but we believe a view from the national representative body will provide a balanced story which will do justice to the subject matter.

The final part of the statement

Finally, we wish to caution publicity-hungry actresses and socialites that while it is within their right to bask in infamy and self-ridicule, they have no right to drag decent, hardworking Ghanaian women into their destructive obsession with notoriety and infamy at any price. Ghana is a respectable country with a great heritage and proud citizens. If any Ghanaian cannot lift high the flag of Ghana, the least he/she can do is not to soil the image nor smear the reputation of our motherland.

Thank you.

Signed

Otiko Afisah Djaba

Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection

Fancy Gadam Did Not Deserve To Win Most Popular Song Of The Year – Attractive Mustapha

The 19th edition of the Vodafone sponsored Ghana Music Awards came off on Saturday April 14 at the Accra International Conference Center.

Many Ghanaians and artistes seem to be happy with the turn of events. However, there are a few who have expressed their disappointment at the win of some artistes.

According to these people some artistes didn’t deserve to win yet they did. As usual, social media has been the complain house for many.

One of such people is the National Organizer of Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana Mustapha Nii-Okai Inusah known in showbiz circles as Attractive Mustapha.

Attractive Mustapha has categorically stated that ‘Total cheat’ did not deserve to win the most popular song of the year.

Tamale based musician, Fancy Gadam won the Most Popular song of the Year with his song ‘Total Cheat’ which features Sarkodie

The blogger believes that the rhythm in Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ song resonated well with music lovers. Not only that but it also enjoyed maximum airplay and became a household sound both in Ghana and internationally.

As a result, Attractive Mustapha maintained that Patapaa should have won that award. He added that even though he knows a section of the people think there is no substance in the lyrics.

He made these comments shortly after the awards on Accra-based Onua FM.

“Even if we use the audience at the event as a sample size, it is obvious that ‘one corner’ is more popular with them than total cheat. Considering the general reaction after the award was given to Fancy Gadam”, Editor of Attractivemustapha.com added

He added that some section of the general public may have also voted for Patapaa and the others alright.

However, he recommended that organizers should decide to make that category a decision by the board. According to him, they ahould adopt a methodology to come out with results that truly reflect who wins instead of 100% public votes.

Meanwhile, the most popular song of the year was won by the group,  Dobble with  ‘Christie’ last year.

Christiane Amanpour Is A Massive Hypocrite — Victoria Hammah

Victoria Hammah speaks about the Moesha situation.

Former NDC minister, Victoria Hammah wades into the Moesha Boduong saga. Furthermore, she completely blasted CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour.

Moreover, Hammah said Amanpour was a hypocrite. This is because she hails from a sexually immoral society like the U.S. However, she pretends that what Moesha said shocked her.

Also, according to Hammah, pornography is rampant in the U.S. Also, women and minorities face systemic discrimination which sometimes results in the kind of situation Moesha is in. Therefore, she can’t believe Amanpour would pretend what Moesha said is so new to her.

Read Victoria Hammah’s opinion piece below

The hypocritical moral narratives being thrown at actress and socialite Moesha Boduong for her candid and brutish honesty on Christiane Amanpour’s “Sex and Love’ across the world only reflect the ignorant reactionary elements of our society.

Did I see Christine Amanpour express surprise at Moesha Boduong’s position? This is even more hypocritical?

The US society is rooted in inequalities of not just gender but racial and even economic. The US has the largest p*rnography industry in the world contributing more than half to the global porn industry. It is undeniable that the porn industry does not only commodify and commercialize the woman’s body. However, it reinforces historical stereotypes of women as sex objects.

Sex for financial security is the result of an uneven distribution of resources. Sex for money is the consequence of poverty and nothing else.

The above raises the realities of inequalities in our societies steeped in the social divisions of labour underscored by “capitalist economic governance”.

Being a woman in itself is a historical challenge and especially being a woman in a society such as Ghana with staggering poverty will obviously perpetuate an asymmetrical sexual power relations.

The debate should be about how governments should create enabling environment and opportunities to eradicate poverty!

We should broaden the debate to include even more devastating social inequitable issues such as child prostitution, rising teenage pregnancies, rising youth unemployment, maternal mortality, lack of access to adequate health care etc.

More on the opinion piece

Even more importantly, we must eliminate social and cultural discriminatory practices and institutions that mitigate against women and other marginalized groups.

As well as implement affirmative policies across all socioeconomic structures of our society as an effective way to address inequalities.

In this case our collective enemy is Poverty not bold Moesha Boduong and the many ordinary Ghanaian women and men who have to subject themselves to indignity just to survive.

The Money I Made From My Daughter’s Funeral Is Very Small, I Want More – Ebony’s Father

Nana Opoku Kwarteng, father of the late dancehall star, Ebony Reigns has disclosed that he wishes he could get more of the money than he has received so far from his daughter’s funeral.

Mr. Opoku made this shocking revelation during an interview with Peace FM’s  Kwame Aboagye.

Akwasi Aboagye during the course of the interview asked him if he’s made enough after the funeral of her daughter.

However, Nana Opoku responded that the money he has so far made from Ebony’s funeral is not enough.

According to him, his daughter Ebony was priceless and that he wishes he could get more.

He added that his doors are still open for more.

“The money I got from Ebony‘s funeral is not worth it. My daughter is priceless. I wish I could get more than that all because my daughter is priceless so with that my doors are open for more.” Nana Opkou Kwarteng said.

He also added that he is waiting to receive some money from Bullet (Ebony’s manager). This he said is because he heard his daughter made some money from Youtube and other portals.

Some Ghanaians have however expressed their utmost disappointment in the bereaved father due to his comments. Many cannot fathom why he had to pass such comment after all the gargantuan donations during the funeral.

Moesha Boudong Apologizes To Ghanaians Over CNN Comments

Moesha apologizes to Ghanaians.

Controversial celebrity, Moesha Boudong apologized to Ghanaians. Furthermore, this was about her comments on CNN with Christiane Amanpour.

Moreover, in her interview she made a sweeping generalization. She said that the economy in Ghana is so bad that women can’t take care of themselves. Therefore, they depend on men to take care of them.

Also, Boudong took a lot of flak from all angles over that comment.

Furthermore, in an Instagram post, she said that she’s sorry for that comment.

Moesha Boudong’s apology to Ghanaians

Dear gh this is Moesha. I have been humbled by all that is going on and I have also learnt a lot in the last few days since the CNN video came out. Five (5) Most Beautiful Flowers In The World

Flowers are one of mother nature’s most beautiful creations. Did you know that Henry Beecher once said: “Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into?” Yet, every flower is a soul blossoming in nature! Indeed, our God is an artist ‘par excellence’, simply the best, and flowers are perhaps one of His best creations on the Earth.

For centuries, flowers have been idolized as objects of beauty by nearly every civilization in the world. To honor the beauty of flowers, we’ve picked the 20 most beautiful flowers from around the world.

We also created visuals with interesting facts about each flower, including its native origin, botanical name and popular colors. From classic flowers such as roses and peonies to exotic blooms such as the king protea and lotus flower, you’re bound to fall in love with at least one of these stunning blooms.

We bring to you five most beautiful flowers in the world today;

1. Bleeding Heart

You already know what a heart-shape represents – love. Now, imagine a plant in your garden with full of heart-shaped, pink-white colored flowers. Isn’t it wonderful? Of course, nobody can disagree. Because the bleeding heart is such a stunningly beautiful flower that can catch everyone’s attention.

This beautiful, spring-blooming bleeding heart flower grows well in moist, cool climate. On blooming, up to 20 heart-shaped flowers would open on each arching stem.

Bleeding heart can be found in pink, red, yellow and white colors. But pink outer petals with small white tips looks more attractive. When small water drop appears at the tip of the flower(in a moisture filled atmosphere) these flowers truly look like bleeding hearts as their name suggests.

2. Water Lilies

Probably the queen of all aquatic flowers in the world. To your surprise, there are 70 different types of water lilies in the world. They grow only in still, shallow freshwater ecosystems like ponds. Besides the attention grabbing beauty, water lilies also aid in protecting the ecosystem the inhabit by balancing the water temperature and providing excellent habitat for fishes.

Apart from the eye-pleasing flowers, large leaves which float above the water surface are another noticeable thing about water lilies. They also have a long stem that attached to the bottom of the pond or lake in which the plant inhabit.

The pretty flowers open from spring to fall. Like leaves, flowers emerge out of the water surface. Each flower opens in the morning and close at the evening. Water lilies come in different colors including pink, white, yellow, orange, purple and blue.

3.Tulips

As a great flower lover, you must have heard about Keukenhof flower garden. Located in Netherlands, this large garden spread across a vast land of 32 hectares. On each spring this garden displays millions of tulips in full bloom. Just imagine you stand between that vast fields of tulips. You would definitely feel like heaven. Because tulip is such a beautiful flower that could instantly grab your attention.

There are more than 3000 varieties of tulips from 150 different species in the world. This diversity itself make it as one of the most popular and most cultivated flowers in the world.

The cup-shaped tulip flowers open on each spring. This showy flower comes in all shades of colors except pure blue. Normally, each stem of a tulip has only one flower. But some species of tulips have more than one flowers on a single stem. One sad fact about tulips are their short lifecycle, only open for 5-7 days.

4. Dahlia

Dahlia is always been so special among flower lover. The reason is its great variety in size and color. There are 42 different species of dahlias in the world.

This beautiful flower comes in both small and large sizes, ranging from 2 inches to 20 inches in diameter. Dahlia also varies in color, can be found almost any color except blue.

Dahlia is native to Mexico. But today it is wildly cultivated. The stunningly colorful flowers bloom between mid-summer and first frost. To promote blooming, you need to cut back the stem after first flowers fade away.

5. Rose Flower

Probably the most beautiful flower in the world. Humans have started to cultivate roses since 500 B.C. This pretty, pleasant-smelling flower has such a long time connection with us. Roses also symbolizes love, honor, faith, beauty, and passion.

Beauty is the main factor that makes roses so popular among both florists and flower lovers. There are 100+ different species of roses in the world. The truth is every species of rose has its own unique beauty.

Naturally grown roses only have five petals and five sepals. The only exception for it is Rosa Sericea – this species of rose has only 4 petals.

Roses can be found in different shades of red, yellow, pink, white and orange. Black and pure blue colored roses don’t exist. Regardless of the color roses appears so attractive. Even though, red roses are so special for us. Because it symbolizes true love.

Awards Can Never Change Me – Joe Mettle

We’re left with just some few hours for the biggest entertainment award show in Ghana, the 19th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMAs).

However, the current reigning champion, Gospel artiste, Joe Mettle has something to say about his status as an award’s winner.

According to the ‘Boo No Ni’  singer, winning an award can never change his attitude to the way he organizes himself and do things.

Many people believe that, awards have a way of influencing a person’s utmost behavior and appearance. Thus, being it personally or career-wise. These people are often believed to behave as if they are ‘all knowing’ and the best in all things.

But speaking on the Celebrity Ride with Zionfelix show, Joe Mettle said that perception does not work for him.

According to him winning an award rather serves as an encouragement, forcing him to do what he is doing better.

He further stated that he believes awards only helps to boost the brand of an artiste. But not to contribute to change in attitudes of the artiste’s personality of business dealings.

Short Bio on Joe Mettle

Born, Joseph Oscar Mettle, he is the first gospel artiste to win the Artiste of the year awards at the VGMAs. This was in 2017, at the 18th VGMAs.

Joe Mettle is once again in the league competing for the ultimate Artiste of The Year category with four others.

The Founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil has cautioned men to desist from ‘sponsoring’ women.

Pastor Mensah Otabil, in a series of tweets has sent words of caution and pieces of advice to Ghanaians.

According to the man of God, any man who spends his money on a woman he has no intention of marrying is ‘unwise’.

“It is not wise for a man to work hard just to give all his money to a woman he has no intention of marrying in the first place. To any man doing this, please, for your own sake, be wise”, reads one of his tweet.

He also wrote people end up becoming frustrated carbon copies when they spend their lives trying despearately to become what they are not.

“Those who spend their lives trying desperately to be what they are not, end up as frustrated carbon copies who get bypassed by the world”, he tweeted.

Last but not least, the infamous preacher also advised on the need for us to be independent.

“There is little that our generation can achieve if we do not break the spirit of dependency. We have what it takes to do great things. But it starts with us believing in our God-given potential”

Background

Pastor Otabil’s tweets can be linked with the actress Moesha Boduong’s interview on CNN.

The Ghanaian Socialite told CNN that the economy in Ghana is structured such that women are compelled to become the ‘mistresses’ of married men in order to make ends meet.

“Ghana our economy is such that you just need someone to take care of you because you can’t make enough money as a woman here,” she told Christiane Amanpour.

Her utterances has since sparked controversies among some Ghanaians. Some believe that she spoke the ‘bitter truth’. Others however also disagree with the fact that she made references to all ‘Ghanaian women’

The man of God, must have also read or heard about Moesha’s wild confession and in a series of tweets, shared his thoughts and some pieces of advise.

Pastor Mensah Otabil’s tweets below;

Risks Of Keto Diet

Everyone is on one diet or another.

The ketogenic diet, popularly known as keto is a low-carb diet. Furthermore, this turns the body into a fat-burning machine. It forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.

However, it was to treat refractory epilepsy especially in children. Now, in recent times the youth have latched on to the diet. Also, most are on social media exchanging meal plans and engaging in challenges.

Popular foods for those on keto are low-fat vegetable like cauliflower and broccoli, cheese, avocado, meat and eggs. Several people have testified to the efficacy of the diet in aiding in weight loss, health and performance.

However, health officials have warned the general public against jumping on the train. They explain that it could lead to life-threatening diseases like stroke, heartache, hypertension and high cholesterol.

Risks associated with keto diet

  • Kidney stones
  • Several vitamin and mineral deficiencies
  • Decreased bone mineral density
  • Gastrointestinal distress.

Also, while some fats can be healthy, there’s a risk that in following a high-fat diet, you’ll increase your intake of unhealthy trans and saturated fats. These “bad” fats are found in things like red meat, poultry skin, cheese, and butter and can lead to an increased risk of bad cholesterol and heart disease.
