I’m Passionate About Talent Not Certificates – Uncle Ebo Whyte

“…figures come easy to me and letters too so it becomes easy for me [to follow my passion]. I am older than most computers in Ghana. I have a terrible handwriting but what has that got to do with anything. Now I can hardly write with ink because I am used to computers,” he said.

Uncle Ebo is set to stage his latest play, ‘Special Delivery’ at the National Theatre on March 31, April 1 and April 8. The play will show at 4 pm and 8 pm each day.

Shatta Wale Didn’t Demand Money To Perform At Ebony’s Tribute Concert- Bullet

It looks like this time round, Ghanaians have had the wrong perception about the SM King, Shatta Wale.

Bullet, Manager of the late Ebony Reigns in a Facebook post yesterday made some allegations against some artistes.

According to Bullet, some artistes want to be paid before they perform at Ebony’s tribute concert.

Though he didn’t mention any artiste’s name, some people claimed they suspected no one but Shatta Wale.

For this, many at the comment section of Bullet’s post alleged that the ‘Freedom’ hitmaker was part.

However, Bullet in an interview today on Hitz FM said that his post has nothing to do with the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker.

According to him, Shatta Wale didn’t demand money to perform at Ebony’s tribute and can never do that.

“It is not Shatta Wale. He cannot do that,” Bullet said.

He however promised to name and shame those involved after the burial the late songstress.

Ghanaians Suspect Shatta Wale To Be The One Demanding Money Before Performing At Ebony’s Tribute Concert

We earlier brought you reports on the impending tribute concert for the late Ebony Reigns. The tribute concert, according to organizers is intended at raising money for her impending funeral.

Posters for the concert were released yesterday and we brought you all the stories about it that one too.

We however followed up with a story that the Manager of the late Ebony Reigns, Bullet was lashing out on some artistes who according to him are hypocrites.

Bullet in a Facebook post said some musicians  are requesting money before they perform at the concert. Meanwhile, according to Bullet, these same artistes claim they loved Ebony.

Billed to perform at the concert are some top artistes in the country from all the music genres.

Some of the confirmed artistes include; Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Samini, Yaa Pono, VVIP, R2Bees, Kofi Kinaata, Feli Nuna, Ras Kuuku, Brella, Danny Beatz  and Bosheba.

However, conspicuously missing in the list which was printed on the official poster was the SM King, Shatta Wale. Perhaps, for this reason, many Ghanaians believe that Bullet’s subtle Facebook post was directed to him.

So, even though the CEO of RuffTown record didn’t mention any artiste’s name in his post, a lot of Ghanaians are speculating and mentioning Shatta Wale to be part of the said hypocrites.

The final funeral rites and burial service for the late Ebony will be held on March 24 at the forecourt of the State House in Accra. This will be the next day after the vigil of tribute concert.

Below are some screen shots of the comments;

Most Ghanaian Artistes Are Hyped; They’ve No Money – Rex Omar

Rex Omar thinks most artistes are hypocrites.

Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Association (GHAMRO) Rex Omar says about 95% of Ghanaian artiste have no money.

Moreover, according to him, most of them are just hyped to look good in the eyes of the public. However, in reality they have no money. Furthermore, he added that very few of them can boast of GHC100,000 in their bank accounts.

He made these statements to Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr Chat.

Furthermore he stated that he”ll never allow his children to do music for a living in Ghana. This is because creative arts in this country doesn’t pay.

Also, the hitmaker admonished musicians not to rely solely on the proceeds they make from their music. But, they should venture into other business activities to keep them going.

Rex Omar about most Ghanaian musicians

“I’ll advice any up and coming musician that until you start to making big money from music do something to support it on the side, otherwise you’ll get the name with no money to support it. Popularity with no money is a curse. As soon as you’re given a creative arts mind in this country if you don’t get somebody to advise you to do something in support, trust me, you’ll have a big name with nothing to support. Most of our artistes are just hyped they have no money, I can say 95% of Ghanaian artistes have no money. Very few of them will have GHC100,000 in their account. Yet, hype, hype … it’s showbiz so they have to show that they’re okay but at the end of the day they have nothing.”

Furthermore, Samira spoke on the theme “Driving economic change in Africa in the 21st Century: Ghana at the forefront.”

The US-Ghana Chambers of Commerce held the lectures.

Parts of the Second Lady’s Lecture at University of Pennsylvania

“To the young generation of Africans, it is your time to shine. Africa needs a new crop of leaders who will ensure that public interest is the underlying principle in government decision making.

Agenda 2063 and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals will not happen by themselves. We need dynamic and effective leadership to make it happen.

For the new leaders, the way to transforming the Ghanaian society would be through better leadership. Theirs is a vision of greater access and better education for all children, greater access to health, water and sanitation, inclusive growth, sound management of the economy and a better environment for the private sector to thrive and to create jobs.

For them to chart a new course for Ghana means a paradigm shift away from raw material export economy. They know that despite all the wealth of natural resources – from gold, cocoa, oil and gas – Ghana faces the risk of being trapped in its Lower Middle Income Country (LMIC) status if we do not push our productive capacities as a nation, if we do not make growth inclusive, if we do not give all our children access to quality education to develop their natural talents and if we do not give women fair and equal opportunities in all spheres of our socio- economic and political society.”

Furthermore, he disclosed that the matter was on their agenda for discussion. However, they lost its administrator, Rev Fiifi Khan Agyakwa. But, they had already delegated one of their officials to handle it.
