God Didn’t Call Me To Be A Pastor – Ofori Amponsah

Veteran highlife musician, Samuel Ofori Amponsah has revealed that God did not call him to become a pastor.

According to ‘Mr. All 4 Real’, as he’s affectionately called, God called him but he probably was not asking him to become a pastor and have his own congregation.

Ofori Amponsah went forth and back few years ago from being a highlife artiste to a pastor.

After years of producing hits tracks, Ofori Amponsah took a break from secular music to set up a church and became a preacher of the gospel in 2014.

This however didn’t last as the ‘Alewa’ hitmaker came back just a year later to declare he was no longer a pastor.

This left many asking questions as to what he really wanted to do with his life.

But speaking on the recent episode of ‘The Delay Show’, Mr. All 4 Real has said that his call was not to become a pastor.

According to him, God might have called him for something else and not for pastoral work.

He also admitted that starting his church was a miscalculated step stemmed from the circumstances he was going through as of that time.

He continued that at that point in his life, he needed people to pray with because he was going through a ‘messy’ divorce.

Ofori Amponsah used the opportunity to apologize to his fans who have also been confused about the musicians unstable decisions.

My Dad ‘Threw’ Me Out Of The House When I decided To Pursue Music — Rex Omar

Veteran musician, Rex Omar disclosed that his father threw him out of the house. This was because he decided to pursue music instead of law.

Furthermore, Rex added that his father, a medical doctor, wanted him to pursue Law.

Rex Omar said this in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM. Moreover, the father’s reason for throwing him out was pursuing music would make him irresponsible. .

Rex Omar used his experience as a lesson to the youth out there to follow their dreams said:

“My father wanted me to become a lawyer, go to secondary school he’ll push me to go to law school eventually. Therefore, the best thing for me was that, from Form four, I went to do my music.

So actually he sacked me from home because he wanted me to go to school to become a lawyer and I wanted to do music. He said ‘show me one person who has done music in Ghana and is living a comfortable life, then I’ll allow you.

But I couldn’t. When I was in school I was crack, I know that if I’d gone to secondary school I wouldn’t have been the musician that I am. He would have pushed me to do law and it would have been a disaster.”

Also, he was asked if he regrets pursuing music. He answered:

“Never, I’m too happy, I’m happy I followed my heart. I was happy to have proven my daddy wrong because he said I did music I wouldn’t be responsible, I’ll be a marijuana smoker, but I proved him wrong.”

If I Don’t Qualify To Lead MUSIGA, Then The Vetting C’ttee Doesn’t Also Qualify – Appietus

Renowned  Sound Engineer cum music producer, Appietus has expressed discontentment at Rex Omar’s opinion about his ability to lead the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

Rex Omar is the Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) and a one-time board member of MUSIGA

He had stated in an interview last week that the dynamics of MUSIGA were beyond the capabilities of the sound engineer.

Appietus on the other hand had made known his intentions of contesting the MUSIGA top post for the second time.

But his brother-in-law thinks otherwise. Rex made this comment in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty last week.

According to him, Appietus was his brother–in- law alright. However, he was yet to convince him (Rex) that he had the competency to take over from Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour).

Background

“I know Appietus very well if you care to know.  Appietus is my brother-in-law.  So under normal circumstance, I would promote him to be the head of MUSIGA,” he said.

Adding that: “I am yet to be convinced by Appietus that, he knows the ins and outs of MUSIGA as to be able to take it to a level where Obour has left it or take it higher.”

Appietus, who is obviously unhappy with these comments from his brother-in-law, referred to him as “playing with my intelligence.”

According to Appietus, this wouldn’t be his first time vying for the position. He was there few years back and the vetting committee found him competent enough to be voted for. Hence Mr. Owusu Marfo(Rex Omar)  did not have any basis for his assertions.

“This is not the first time I am going to go [as] a candidate. I’ve been there, I’ve been vetted, and I was excellent. So if he’s saying he feels I don’t qualify, then it means all the people on the panel who vetted me don’t qualify,” he argued.

Appietus( Appiah Dankwah) also queried Rex’s complaints that MUSIGA lacks enough revenue because its members barely paid their dues.

“What is so attractive at MUSIGA, at the moment, that will make someone go and pay his dues?”

Patapaa’s manager confirmed the split on Accra-based Happy FM when in an interviewed with Dr. Cann.

According to him, Patapaa mostly cancels booked interviews and shows minutes before scheduled time with no tangible reason which makes working with him extremely difficult.

Patapaa’s manager speaks;

“He mostly cancels booked interviews and shows as they’re fast approaching with no tangible reason to support his excuse. This has become consistent and I can’t bear with his recalcitrant attitude anymore. I’ve to let him go”, he said.

Known as the controversial type, many had predicted the split months before it had even happened. Many Ghanaians had predicted things to go bizarre for the artistes if he didn’t change from his recalcitrant nature. Well, even the name Patapaa says it all.

Shatta Wale Needs Prayers – Bullet

CEO of Rufftown records, Ricky Nana Agyeman, aka Bullet says dancehall star, Shatta Wale needs help and prayers.

According to him, Shatta Wale needs help and prayers because whatever is happening to him is not good.

Shatta Wale lashed out on Bullet in the wake of Ebony’s tribute concert controversies.

Few days ago, Bullet made a complaint that some artistes were demanding money before they perform at her oncoming musical tribute concert.

Although Bullet didn’t mention any artiste’s name, a section of Ghanaians said they suspect that Shatta was the one making the demands. When the news broke out, Bullet in a series of interviews clarified that Shatta Wale wasn’t the one demanding the money. He even went as far as adding that Wale cannot do that.

Meanwhile Shatta Wale, who’s currently out of the country took to Facebook on Friday(March 16) to lash out at Bullet, calling him a fool. He again called into Peace FM’s Entertainment Review program on (March 17)to throw jabs at Bullet and also called the upcoming Ebony Tribute concert useless.

In reacting to his comments, Bullet said he has observed that Shatta Wale needs help and prayers. He queried why a greater section of the public thought it was Shatta Wale making the demands and not  any other artiste? He noted that, Shatta Wale insulting him is no news at all to him. This he explained is because, if he’s able to insult many big men in the society and even threaten to burn down churches then who is he(Bullet) that Shatta Wale wouldn’t insult?

Bullet speaks;

“He needs help, he needs prayers. We need to pray for him, whatever is happening to him is not good” he said.

He added that “Shatta Wale claims God brought him from the streets. From the streets if God has really blessed you, is that the way to talk?. You should be an inspiration to the youth. You should be an inspiration to the ghetto youth. Whatever you say as someone who’s been blessed from the ghetto should be inspirational.” Bullet noted.

Shatta Wale Slams Bullet Over Ebony’s Tribute Concert, Calls Him A ‘Fool’

Controversial Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has slammed at Bullet over his facebook comment on Ebony’s tribute concert.
In a post on Facebook, Bullet had expressed that some artistes are demanding for money before they perform at Ebony’s tribute concert.

Bullet wrote:

“Some of our Ghanaian artistes are very hypocrite, you came to Ebony’s one week observation because the numbers were there and again it was being telecast live on air so some of you came there to use the platform. “Now you’re asking me to pay you for her tribute concert. I thought you loved her as you claimed on stage at her one week. This is pure hypocrisy. Big thanx to every artistes who has decided to support us. We are grateful.”

However, a great number of  Facebook users at the comment section have linked Shatta Wale to the one. Although Bullet didn’t and has still refused to mention any artistes name.

Again. Bullet had granted a series of interviews, including one on Zylofon FM, that Shatta Wale is not the one Demanding for money.

Shatta Wale, as usual, took to Facebook to lash out at Bullet.  He denied charging to perform at a tribute concert where people would be attending to mourn the dead.

He again added in his post that he was sure Bullet was the one spreading the rumours and that if it is Bullet spreading the rumours, then he is a ‘’fool’’.

Shatta Wale’s Post Below;

“How can I charge to go and perform at a funeral ..where is the happiness and enjoyment at the particular place and time ..Bullet if you are the one spreading rumors like this which I kno u can ….then u fool waaa this Friday..This is not the first time I am hearing this form your camp .. Zylofon is my pride if you kno like go burn the sea .. #champioooon #Zylofon #bossbaker #SM #Storm#SolashEnt #Asuoden #LBE Z 4 #ZYLOFON #ZYLOFONMEDIA #ZYLOFONMUSIC #ZYLOFONSHATTAS.”

It was over the deteriorating nature of the movie industry. However, it never saw the light of day all because her colleagues never supported her course.

Also, she added that only a few colleagues such as Kweku Elliot, Majid Michel, Kafui Danku and others supported. She attributed the failure of that campaign to lack of unity in the movie industry.

Yvonne Nelson’s statement on campaign

“I thought I could get my colleagues together to gather signatures. However, some wondered why is it only Yvonne Nelson always coming up with such ideas so I fell back a little. I will say kudos to Kafui Danku, Kweku Elliot, Majid Michel and Lucky Lawson. They were very supportive. However, I realised the industry was not ready for that, just because we are not united”.

Furthermore, they asked if she had given up the campaign. She replied;

“The project is still there but I realised it would be very difficult, we are not united. I sent emails out, left forms at various points but like I said, people just didn’t want to do it because they thought someone wanted to be popular that is why she was doing it, but if I wanted to see the president to have a talk I believe I could, but I was trying to get all of us involved but it is quite difficult”.
