Kumi Guitar speaks about Nana Appiah Mensah.

Zylofon Media signee, Kumi Guitar doesn’t think the CEO is wasting money.

Kumi Guitar made these statements in an interview on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM with Sammy Forson.

Kumi Guitar stressed that channelling resources into the music business is a long time investment.

“He [Nana Appiah Mensah] knows that it is a long-term investment. He could have put his money into other investments that will yield him money every month.

Or probably six months or three months and he will be okay. He doesn’t need to come to the media for people to insult him like we do these days.” 

Furthermore, Kumi Guitar believes that his boss is not “stupid”. Therefore, he echoed the words of his mum concerning business.

“My mum will tell you that foolish men don’t make money. Anytime I go talk to her that Nana Appiah, the business is going this way, putting more money in, she tells me he knows what he is doing.” 

Also, the artiste is unhappy about how Ghanaians criticise and discourage Nana Appiah from investing in the creative arts industry.

“He won’t give up. He knows that we don’t appreciate anything Ghanaian. If he was a Nigerian doing this Zylofon thing, we will support as Ghanaians.” 

Shatta Wale makes his opinions known.

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale calls for the closure of 4syte TV. Furthermore, his reason is they don’t support Ghanaian musicians.

Moreover, according to him, the television station doesn’t promote Ghanaian culture. However, it concentrates on foreign music although the station is in Ghana.

Also, he indicated that the television station which is located in Ghana and should be used as a platform to promote Ghanaian music. This is rather than giving priority to musicians who are outside the shores of Ghana and even Africa.

Therefore, he called on authorities to close down the television station and rather get investors who will be willing to promote Ghana on their channel to takeover.

Kumawood producers open up about the crisis in the industry.

Kumawood movie producer and director, Samuel Nyamekye disclosed that telenovelas worried the industry. Furthermore, he stated that the emergence of telenovela ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ pushed the Kumawood producers to work harder.

He made these statements on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.

Moreover, Mr Nyamekye revealed that the telenovelas taught producers what Ghanaians crave for, with regard to movies.

Also, according to the renowned producer, the most important element that the Kumawood industry needs to catch up with to be at par with international standards is the quality of their movies.

Therefore, the producer doesn’t believe that the Kumawood industry is dead.

Moreover, he said all the Kumawood movie directors are ready to produce movies with higher video standards. This is to eradicate foreign telenovelas flooding television channels in the country.

Nonetheless, Mr Nyamekye pleaded with the government to support the movie industry financially to boost contents abroad.

Also, he urged various industry players to drop their ego and work hand-in-hand with producers. This is to achieve a higher purpose in the entertainment industry.

“The Kumkum Bhagya opened our eyes to know what Ghanaians want. We need the money from government to compete with the Telenovelas. Telenovelas aren’t the problem. We are trying to get the capital to improve our video qualities.

Quality i very important. We are making sure all the producers know. Now we are making them understand it’s not about the money. Now we are in for the TV series too. It won’t be a one day something but with time we would get the people”.

David Oscar says he never left.

Comedian and reggae artiste, David Oscar say he’s still a comedian. Moreover, he said that despite his focus on music, he will still perform as a comedian when given the platform.

Furthermore, according to the singer, reggae music has been his prime focus for some time now. However, he will still mount the stage to do comedy when given the chance. This is because he considers it as a business.

However, the music star dispelled the opinions that he is no longer a standup comedian. He termed that rhetoric as untrue.

David Oscar stated this in an interview with Lexis Bill on the Behind the Fame show on Joy FM.

“Yes it’s true I have focused on reggae music for some time now, but I will still perform as comedian anytime any day when I’m given the platform.

I don’t know why people think am no longer doing comedy, I still do it, and if anyone needs a comedian for their program, I’m still available.” 

Coded hits back at Leila Djansi.

4X4 member Coded slams filmaker Leila Djansi over recent comments she passed. Moreover, these comments are about how women should approach their relationships.

Furthermore, Djansi sparked outrage with her advice that no woman should cook or clean for a man she’s not married to.

Moreover, Coded commented on the advice. Coded said it’s nonsensical. Also, he stated that Djansi should not stay in America and pollute the minds of up and coming young ladies.

“I don’t think she is Ghanaian. She should come and stay here, grab a fine looking nice gentleman who she’s in love with. Then she should come and tell us again that she’s not going to cook and clean.

She’s in America and thinking like American, she shouldn’t think like American she should come to Ghana and think like an African, it’s wrong to say that. It’s wrong to say that rubbish. How can a whole producer like you, who people are looking up to, a lot of women are looking up to you, then you come and say this rubbish to us?” 

Dhat Gyal gets the support she needs.

Young, and upcoming music sensation, Dhat Gyal will get support to further her education.

Furthermore, she was in the news when she made an open appeal for support for her education.

Moreover, she explained that she had dreams of enjoying higher education. However, that dream ended when a car knocked down her mother and she died instantly.

Zylofon Arts Fund supporting Dhat Gyal

Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of the Zylofon heard the petition for support. Therefore, he decided to support.

Moreover, Zylofon Arts Fund is a fund geared at providing succor for ‘underground’ and major players within arts industry. Therefore, they offered the youngster a scholarship to cater to her education.

Also, the scholarship would include her secondary to university education and all the institutions would be of her choice.

Furthermore, Zylofon Arts Fund is keen on supporting her with her musical works.

The Zylofon Arts Fund was set up to support practitioners within the creative sector. It is to help in their respective projects with a start-up of $1 million. Also, it is with an interest-free rate for persons who access the fund.
