Eazzy Explains Her Abscence From The Music Scene

Eazzy is back.

Ghanaian music diva Mildred Ashong, popularly known as Eazzy, was off the music scene for a while. However, she said she was busy with other activities.

According to singer, she decided to turn her attention to other profitable ventures. This was when she realized that the attention on her had waned.

Eazzy on taking a back seat on music

“We have poor structures in this industry and that has been the bane of Ghanaian artistes because you don’t make enough when you aren’t on top.”

Moreover, she didn’t mention what she’s been up to. However, she stated that she knew she would not always be on top of the game, so she prepared for the hard times.

“The music business is all lucrative when you’re topping charts and enjoying the attention as a big artiste but the financial flow drops as soon you don’t get much spotlight. I prepared for such days and I’m happy it’s reaping off now when I’m not as big as I used to be.”

Also, she spoke about how Ebony changed her mind about the music game. This was in response to the perception that female artistes don’t stay on top for long because they don’t enjoy the same kind of attention as their male counterparts.

“The truth is that she gave the men very good competition because she was very talented and for that, she had massive support. I also remember how I enjoyed such patronage at the peak of my career so I think if you are good, you will get public backing irrespective of your gender.”

Sarkodie Keeps Rejecting My Proposals For A Collaboration – E.L

Ghanaian musician, Elorm Adablah, best known as EL says BET award winning rapper Sarkodie has refused to do a collaboration with him.

Sarkodie is arguably one of the hottest musicians whose feature goes a long way to help an artiste.

However, a few artistes, both in and outside Ghana have complained a couple of times about his refusal to feature them.

Nigerian super star, Yemi Alade made the same complaint last year.

Again, E.L is also saying the same thing. According to the ‘Aunty Martha’ hitmaker, Sarkodie has been rejecting his collaboration proposal for the past six months.

The former BBnz record label artiste shared this bitter experience on the ‘Starr Drive’ with host, Giovanni Caleb.

Giovanni in the course of the interview asked E.L about his relationship with some of his colleague artistes.

E.L posited that he relates well with everybody especially the likes of Stonebwoy, Edem, Shatta Wale. However for Sarkodie, he hasn’t been able to get in-touch with him for the past six months.

“I’ve been trying to do a collaboration with the Sarkodie yet all efforts have proved futile. He has not been responding to my text messages for the past six months”, E.L stated.

Background

E.L is an award winning Ghanaian Afrobeats musician and rapper.

He’s known for hit songs like Kaalu, Shelele, Auntie Martha, Koko among others.

Meanwhile, E.L and Sarkodie have some collaborations to their credit.

Be Brotherly And Trash Difference – Bright To 4×4

Bright has advice for 4×4.

Member of hiplife duo Buk Bak, Bright Bling Sparkles pleads with his protégés to trash their differences.

Firstly, Bright helped to form the group 4×4. According to him , the group is going through a phase. However, he is optimistic the group is still intact.

He made these comments to MzGee on Hitz FM.

Initially, it became an extension of Buk Bak back in the day, Bright about 4×4

“There will be ego clashes when we don’t necessarily agree on certain things. There is definitely going to be heated arguments along the line when we don’t agree on certain things but trust me it is based on mutual respect.

As artistes we have to trash out their differences if there are any differences.”

Moreover, he said he will support them individually regardless of whatever angle they decide to go with their music. However, he urged them to remember to be more brotherly than enemies.

“I will not bash them for deciding to go their separate ways or trying to do solo projects because I went through that experience.”

Also, he told Ghanaians to desist from fueling the seeming feud between Coded and Captain Planet.

“Sometimes the things people say will fuel issues further. People are feeding off negative energy and that will generate negativity in their work and that will cause them not to be focused.”

Ebony’s Funeral Likely To Be Postponed – Father Hints

The final funeral rites of the late dancehall star, Ebony is likely to undergo some changes.

During the one-week memorial commemoration of the late songstress, her family revealed March 17, as the day for her burial.

They however promised to later communicate the venue to the public at the appropriate time.

Considering the crowd that showed up at the memorial service, it is only wise that a bigger venue be chosen for her funeral.

As a result, her father, Nana Poku-Kwarteng, in an interview  last week revealed that the Black Stars Square had been chosen for her burial service.

However, it seems things may not go as planned for the venue.

Nana Poku-Kwarteng has again disclosed in a recent interview that the event may either be postponed or see a change in venue.

Speaking on Entertainment Review on Saturday, Ebony’s father said the venue had been booked by other bodies.

“The venue is the challenge. We earlier had the indication that we could hold it there but as it stands, it’s a little dicey. The Canadian High Commission has an event at the Forecourt of the State House on the very day. It had been booked way back. The Black Star Square had also been booked by Aglow International,” he stated.

The bereaved father and biggest fan of the late songstress admitted he may not have crosschecked well enough to know about the bookings.

He however urged all to exercise patience, adding that the public will be updated after a meeting with the Chief of Staff, today Monday March 5,2018.

“I announced the venue but maybe my homework was not well done or something. Let’s hold on. We are meeting the Chief of Staff on Monday to finalize issues. After that, we will brief the country about the development,” he noted.

Meanwhile,  Ebony’s friend, Franky Kuri was buried over the weekend.

I’m Not Given An Audience With The Minister – Grace Omaboe

Grace Omaboe is dissatisfied with how she’s being treated.

Veteran actress, Grace Omaboe doesn’t understand why the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture is giving her runaround.

Maame Dokono is exasperated because she was refused requests to meet the Minister for the sector, Hon Catherine Afeku. She stated that she wanted to share ideas with her.

Moreover, according to her, she was treated scornfully as though she’d gone to the Ministry to beg for money.

She said this to Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM.

Furthermore, she said try as she might, she’s been unsuccessful in meeting with authorities. Furthermore, her goal is to share ideas on how the theatre industry could be revived, adding that she doubts the Minister has passion for the theatre arts.

I doubt she has a passion for Theater Arts – Grace Omaboe about Catherine Afeku

“I’ve even gone to our Ministry, you go and the secretaries and the rest will tell you she’s busy, we’ll give you time, how many times do you want me to climb that staircase and come to you before you see me? But before coming to power we were all the same, somebody you were campaigning with. I went there and they refused to let me see her and I told those girls at the reception that I didn’t come there to beg for me, I came there because I had ideas. I told them I’m going and will never come there again. What do I want from them? I don’t think the people there have the passion for theatre. They should change.

Today you say you’re a Minister so if I come to see you I should be made to sit down for a long time, with officials of the Ministry bluffing me. Before we started the political campaign, I has built three house (storey building) I toiled to put up those houses, so you don’t bluff me. I had my car, I’d educated my children, my children are doing well. One is a Medical Doctor, I have one working at the World Bank, I have two who are nurses at Scotland and Holland, so why do you bluff me!?

You’ve come to office and I’m just coming to you. We’re the ones who have been in this industry for a long time and we have ideas to share with you to help and enhance whatever you want to do. It’s not just coming to stand on TV or radio and just bragging and bragging.”
