Ghana Will Be Empty If USA Issues Free Visas For A Week – Dr. Mensa Otabil

Dr Mensa Otabil has some words for those trying to flee the country

Pastor Mensa Otabil said Ghana, Nigeria and many countries in Africa would be empty. This would happen if the United States of America decides to give free visas for just a week.

The founder of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) said this during the church’s 34th anniversary service.

Furthermore, he stated that there are a number of Africans who risk their lives traversing deserts and the Mediterranean to Europe. Moreover, this is ample evidence that most Africans would leave the continent for greener pasture if they had the chance.

“Look at the number of our people who try to cross the Sahara Desert to go to Europe.

And believe you me, if that way were open, Africa would be empty. It would be empty. If the American Embassy today decides: this week is free visa for everybody, Ghana would be empty, Nigeria would be empty.

Why are we travelling? It’s not because we have a sense of adventure because if we had a sense of adventure, we would have travelled to Mole, we would’ve gone to Kintampo, we have no sense of adventure, it’s a sense of hopelessness. It’s not an adventure, it’s hopelessness. This is a sense where you feel nothing good will come from here”.

Teacher Who Walks 42km To Class Rewarded With Standing Fan

We honestly don’t know how we feel about this story.

The district of Tolon awarded a teacher who walks 42 kilometres to class to teach every day. They rewarded with a standing fan as a mark of appreciation.

Furthermore, the district director of education, Rev Georgina Norga presented the award. She asked the teacher to continue with the good work.

The teacher is called Awudu Kombian. He has been the only teacher for the Warvi D/A primary school for several academic periods.

Also, some other teachers received similar awards. They included a huge thermo food flask. This was for their exceptional roles in promoting rural education in the area.

Moreover, a citation was publicly read praising their commitment and “well-dedicated service” despite daunting challenges faced by rural teachers.

Mr. Kombian doubled as a headmaster and teacher for the school. This was until three teachers were recently posted to the Warvi primary school.

Furthermore, the school has a population of about 74 with three classrooms. However, he taught them all alone for more than a year.

He travelled 42km to school to prepare the pupils for lessons. Also as a headmaster, he performed other tasks. Therefore, the school closed down whenever he fell ill or travelled.

“It’s very challenging but as a professional you have to always do your best to see what you can do in the midst of the challenges. Every day I have to travel about 42kms to go and teach, because it’s a very deprived community, and places like that you don’t have accommodation so even if you are willing to even stay there, there is no accommodation for you”.

He received the award at the event ground. Mr. Kombian said he was happy for the recognition of his works. However, he pleaded with authorities to extend the gesture to several other teachers doing a wonderful job.

“The award itself, the prize itself is not something that I will place much emphasis on but the gesture. The gesture of recognizing what I have done is what gladdens my heart

But we also expect that as we are trying, you will have to do whatever to be able to support us to be able to do the work well. So, I will say I’m happy that recognition has been given for the effort that I’ve been putting, so it’s quite refreshing to know that someone is looking at you and what you are doing; that alone is satisfying.”

Most People At Zylofon Media Are There For The Money – Ameyaw Debrah

Ameayw Debrah feels someways about the hangers on at Zylofon Media.

Zylofon Media is arguably the most talked about entertainment company in the country.

Furthermore, a lot of people associate the name Zylofon Media with money.

This is because most of their actions confirm that theentertainment company has a lot of cash for the creative arts industry. The business has employed several Ghanaians to help in the firm’s development.

However, celebrity blogger, Ameyaw Kissih Debrah believes most of the employees are not at the company for good reasons.

He made these statements on Celebrity Ride With Zionfelix.

Moreover, Ameyaw believes that most people currently at the outfit are there to squander the CEO’s cash.

According to him, many Ghanaians have noticed that Zylofon Media is the hub of cash. Therefore, it is right for them to also join the institution in order to get something.

Ameyaw Debrah told Zionfelix, that he wanted to be honest in his submission about Zylofon Media. He admitted that Nana Appiah Mensah had good plans for the creative arts industry. However, he sees hungry people around him waiting to spend his investment instead of working to make profit for him.

According to her, she has no regrets for being unfaithful to her partner. This she explained is because she only cheated once and it was at a time her partner had left her here in Ghana and spent four years abroad. Adding that she didn’t even know when when he was coming back to Ghana.

Ghanaians show John Dumelo that they never forget.

Actor, John Dumelo had criticisms about the Ghana @ 61 celebrations held on Tuesday, 6th March 2018.

Moreover, he complained that Ghana’s independence celebrations is nothing new, and most Ghanaians do it.

However, a lot of people took exception to Dumelo voicing this.

This is because he never said a thing during the previous eight years of the NDC.

Moreover, people found his criticism a little too much to bear.

Moreover, back on social media he wasn’t given a moment to rest after his post.

A lot of the replies to his post criticized him for looting state V8s, partnering with the corrupt NDC and never saying anything about celebrations during their time in power.

One person said if he was concerned about schools he shouldn’t have taken a state V8.

Ghanaian-British comedian, Michael Dapaah, known as Big Shaq has a new single out. Michael is known for his “Man’s Not Hot” breakthrough hit.

Furthermore, the song made him an international sensation where he garnered attention from people in the music industry.

Moreover, he’s back with another song. The song is already generating buzz.

The versatile comic actor played the character of “Dr Ofori” in this single “Boa Me Remix”.

Also, the song is originally sung by Fuse ODG and Ed Sheeran.

Apparently, Michael has been in Ghana for some days now. Also, he released the video to mark Ghana’s 61st Independence Day.

A Manager Dating The Artist Is The Height Of Unprofessionalism — Mzvee

MzVee has an answer for Bulldog.

A couple of months back, artiste manager, Bulldog, said it was necessary for male managers to have sex with the female artistes they manage. He said this was to ensure that they did whatever they were told. He cited reasons such as external forces could derail the relationship between manager and artiste.

Moreover, he got the support of Mark Okraku-Mantey.

Moreover, MzVee has come out to debunk such ridiculous notions. She emphatically states that she disagrees with such practice.

According to the songstress, it is completely unprofessional for a manager to sleep with his own artiste.

Mzvee made these statements on Hit FM. She was asked to give an opinion on Bulldog’s clarion call for managers to sleep with their female artistes.

Awards winning Dancehall/Reggae artiste, Stonebwoy has paid a visit to patients at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Stonebwoy led his Charity Foundation, the Livingstone Foundation team to the Accidents Center Wards of the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital.

They made a donation of Ghc 5000 and paid outstanding bills of some patients to mark his 30th birthday celebrations.

The Livingstone Foundation aims at giving back to society and creating equal opportunities for kids and adults from deprived backgrounds.

15 years ago, Stonebwoy  was also involved in a fatal accident which according to reports claimed the life of his twin brother.

Fortunately, Livingstone survived though the accident greatly affected his leg. However, the BHIM Nation President recently underwent surgery and he is fine now.

As a victim of road accident the ‘Bawasaba’ hitmaker saw it needful to support and share quality moment with in-patients of the ward. A moment that revived his struggle to survive in the same ward 15 years ago.

Stonebwoy, born Livinstone Etse Satekla was recently on major blogs in the Caribbean and Portugal. He was there for business but  he is currently back in Ghana.

He is highly focused on promoting his album, Epistle of Mama. Already, he has released 3 official music videos of singles off the album.

Not only this but he’s also warming up as he’ll soon welcome a child with his wife Dr Mrs Louisa Ansong Satekla.

Kudos to Stonebwoy for this generous act.

Kuami Eugene, Kidi And King Promise Interviewed On BBC

These Ghanaian boys put themselves and Ghana on the map.

Ghanaian musicians, Kuami Eugene, Kidi and King Promise are in London at the moment.

They traveled there to perform at a show. However, it seems they’ve been booked for more shows as well. This goes to show how appreciated they are in the country.

Furthermore, they are using the opportunity to boost their image outside of the country.

Also, photos surfaced online which show Kuami Eugene, Kidi and King Promise in and around the BBC studios for an interview.

Moreover, it seems the interview will center about their promising careers and the impact they have.

Coincidentally, the three musicians are nominated in this year’s VGMAs Best New Act.

Kidi confirmed these reports as he later shared a photo of themselves at the BBC with the caption “Earlier today the BBC … great interview with my brothers”

However, there are no details of when their interviews will be televised.

Ghana celebrated her 61 years of independence yesterday 6th March, 2018.

The theme for the anniversary was ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’.

As usual, the day was celebrated across the ten regions of the country with a parade.

The grand of the them all is held at the Black Stars Square in Accra.

The Black Stars Square is where Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, stood and proclaimed the country’s independence.

Once again it witnessed yet another historic moment yesterday when smartly dressed Ghanaians trooped there to mark 61 years of independence from Britain.

Typical of Ghana’s independence day celebration yearly, school children and men and women of the country’s security services performed a march past to salute the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is also the Commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Here, the President of the Ghana, invited guests and some dignitaries join a host of Ghanaian to celebrate the day.

Past presidents and other former heads of state too make themselves available during this occasion.

Meanwhile, Ex president John Dramani was not present at the event.

This is because, he had led  a delegation out of the country, hence his absence.

However, there were colorful display of culture and patriotism yesterday at Ghana at 61.

Pappy Kojo’s Former Manager Chooses Joey B Over Him, Read Why

Celebrity blogger, Ameyaw Kissih Debrah has revealed that he will choose Joey B over Pappy  due to his versatility.

According to the former manager of Pappa Kojo, the artiste’s core fans are mostly students of the high school level – J.H.S and S.H.S.

Ameyaw Debrah, who managed the musician during his heydays made this revelation when he appeared on The Celebrity Ride with Zionfelix’.

During the show, he was asked to choose who his best is between Joey B and Pappy Kojo on the ‘Who Is Who?’ segment.

The boss of Ameyaw Debrah Media then picked the latter over the former.

In explaining his reason, he said Joey B aside his rap prowess can also sing. However his former artiste cannot do same even though he has tried it a couple of times.

Reacting to comments that the ‘M’akoma’ hitmaker’s career has taken a swoop, Ameyaw Debrah said otherwise.

He expressed that the High School  students who are the musician’s core fans still see him as their superstar.

He further said even though he is struggling to get another hit song, most Ghanaians still enjoy his old tunes.

According to him, he used to fight a lot with Pappy Kojo because he was refusing to reason with him.

The newly wedded on why they used to argue disclosed that; “Pappy was always on keeping an image rather than doing things that will put him in the face of the people.”

He added that the rapper refused on several occasions to collaborate with up and coming musicians because he felt bigger than them.

The celebrity and lifestyle blogger continued that he advised him on several occasions to work with young artistes. However, Pappy was adamant to his words and that generated a lot of arguments for them.

He explained that this became unbearable for him so he had to pass over the ‘Realer No’ hitmaker to his junior brother, Paa Debrah to continue the managerial duties.

He however said that he didn’t do so just because of the arguments but because he was busy with his online business. As a result, he felt the the ‘Ay3 Late’ crooner needed someone who could work with him as a full time manager.

Pappy Kojo, born Jason Gaisie is a Ghanaian hip hop and hiplife recording artist from Takoradi. He’s quiet famous in Ghana thanks to  thanks to Joey B who asked him to come down to pursue his music career. He was formerly based in Italy.

Some of his hit songs include; Realer No, Fante Vandame, Awo’a, Nana Ama among others.

MzVee Didn’t Deserve VGMA Dancehall Artiste Of The Year Nomination – Epixode

Reggae and dancehall artiste Epixode has aired his views on the 2018 VGMAs awards nominees.

According to him, the Lynx Entertainment artiste didn’t deserve to be on the list of the ‘Dancehall Artiste of The Year’ at all.

The musician made this revelation at the album listening of his second studio album, 3nity in Accra on Sunday.

Epixode, boldly mentioned MzVee as an artiste whose appearance at the ‘Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ category was wrong.

According to him, he doesn’t agree with MzVee being in their category simply because she does not qualify.

Epixode did not end it that but further queried the VGMAs board if their criteria for the nominations.

The ‘Avatar’ crooner further asked if the criteria for nominating MzVee for the category was because of her YouTube views.

This he said is because not only him but also a critic also questioned ‘the ‘Daavi’ hitmaker’s nomination for the dancehall category.

According to him, Richie Mensah, Lynx Entertainment boss referred the critic to the songstress’ views on Youtube.

He again asked the awards scheme if the awards is for only Ghanaian musicians based in Ghana or Ghanaians excelling outside the country also qualify for the nominations.

He mentioned the likes of Black Prophet, Rocky Dawuni, Black Messiah and many other Reggae and dancehall musicians who are excelling outised the shore of Ghana. Adding that, none of them was able to get a nomination for this year’s awards.

MzVee is competing for the ‘Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ with Ebony, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

Meanwhile, Epixode is not the only artiste who seems to be in discontentment with this year’s VGMAs nominations.

Many other artistes have also queried the organizers with some going as far as insulting them.

The 2018 Ghana Music Awards is slated for April 14 at the Accra International Conference Center.

Forget VGMAs And Focus On International Awards – Guru Advises Colleague Artistes

Ghanaian rapper/hiplife artiste, Guru is undoubtedly one of the talented artistes in Ghana.

He’s known for his consistency in releasing hit after hit songs. Most of his songs receive massive airplays and are loved by many music lovers. Aside that, Guru has been topping music charts over and over again.

Yet, Guru, who now goes by the stage name Gurunkz has not been fortunate with the VGMAs.

Despite his hardworks and good musical contents, he can’t boast of at least three plaques by Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

No, he’s not on any blacklist and this keeps baffling many Ghanaians and his fans.

However, Gurunkz seems unperturbed about this this bitter experience. It seems he has tuned his mind off from participating or winning any awards at the VGMAs because this year’s is no exception.

His name is missing from the entire nomination list. Whilst other colleagues of his who are experiencing the same crisis are voicing their worries, Gurunkz has his focus somewhere greater.

As a result, he has advised his colleague musicians who feel cheated in the hands of Charterhouse not to focus on the unfortunate happenings in the industry.

According to him, artistes should rather focus on representing Ghana globally and not only on winning local awards. Guru made this known through his page on Facebook.

He wrote; “Sorry y’all for what’s going on in Ghana music. Let’s not focus on only Winning awards here but repping our mother Ghana Globally Love and peace guide y’all”.

Charter House, organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards announced nominees for the various categories of the awards scheme for this year. Afterwards, artistes who could not find their names in the various categories have voiced their displeasure on Charterhouse.

Meanwhile, as of March 5,2018, Gurunkz was number three on the music top chart by Heredeypap.com.

His latest track, ‘Golden Stool’ is making it big as most of his other tracks have done over the years.

Gurunkz is hence focusing on promoting this track which features Rapper Edem and Shaker.

Eno Barony Deserves To Win Best Rapper Of The Year – Edem

Nominees for the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards have been unveiled.

As usual, everyone is vouching for his or her favorite artiste to win in the various categories.

Rapper/Hiplife artiste, Edem is also vouching for rapper Eno Barony to walk away as the ‘Best Rapper Of The Year’

Eno Barony made history of becoming the first female rapper to be nominated in such category.

She’s competing with male counterparts such as TeePhlow, Sarkodie, Lil Shaker, Kojo-cue, and Strongman.

And Edem, born Denning Edem Hotor  is solidly behind her.

For him, Eno deserves to win in order to serve as an encouragement for in-coming female rappers.

He added that the rap category has, over the years, remained male-dominated. Hence he thinks a female winning it would boost the morale of other women who are rappers.

”I think Eno should win to set a new trend in the mindset of girls that they can win. It has become a male-dominated thing and she is doing her best.

“It’s ground-breaking and she has to tell all the women to pull their power cards and make noise so that she can win it…” Edem told Adomonline.com’s Dennis Adu.

Meanwhile, Eno herself has said she is looking forward to winning the award this year.

Expect Heat From Special Prosecutor – President Nana Addo

President Nana Addo made a powerful speech during Independence Day.

During the Independence Day celebrations, the President gave a speech that touched on the Special Prosecutor’s responsibilities. He stated that the fight against corruption is ongoing.

Furthermore, he promised Ghanaians that public officials, past and present, would be accountable for pilfering the public purse.

He made the speech at the Black Star Square to mark Ghana’s 61st Independence.

Moreover, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said he will not be swayed by political considerations in his quest to protect the public purse.

“Fellow Ghanaians, corruption, or, more specifically, the stealing of public funds, continues to hold back the development of our nation. Corruption is not a partisan matter and we must all act to protect the public purse.” 

The President fulfilled his 2016 campaign promise to set up the Office of Special Prosecutor. This was to fight deep-seated corruption that has rendered many public institutions dysfunctional.

Also, the President is hopeful that “with the office of the Special Prosecutor now in place we can expect more prosecutions for corruption in the coming months.”

Moreover, he urged public officials, present and past, to be on notice.

Mother Ghana celebrated her 61 years of Independence yesterday March 6, 2018.

As usual the day was celebrated by many Ghanaians across the ten Regions in with a march pass.

The theme for this year’s Independence day was “Ghana Beyond Aid”.

Meanwhile, there were march passes organized at various places across the ten regions to mark the day.

However, the biggest of them all as usual came off at the Black Star Square in Accra.

This was attended by many Ghanaians, dignitaries and some invited guests.

Among them was the President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Mahamudu Buhari.

Many celebrities as well celebrated the day in diverse ways.

They took to social media to wish Ghana a happy Independence day and as well as show their patriotism.

Many were spotted in different attires with the colors of the National flag, red gold to mark the day.

Others too were spotted in colorful Ankara prints and Kente cloths as proud Ghanaians.

Furthermore, she disclosed that men have been sliding into her DM on social media. They are constantly asking for sex on a daily basis.

Moreover, she stated that she never takes these sexually unsatisfied men. This is because it is a virtual world.

Therefore,anybody can slide into your DM to request or say anything they want.

“I receive tons of messages in my DM all the time. They say a lot including I like your album, your teeth are white. I receive very interesting ones, mostly sexual because I can’t see them and I’m sure if they see me in person they cannot say those things.”

My Son Will Win The VGMA Artiste Of Year Award – Shatta Wale’s Mother

Mother of celebrated dancehall artiste,Shatta Wale;

Madam Elsie Evelyn Avemegah, has expressed her strong support for her son in the on-coming VGMAs.

She is the mother of self-proclaimed dancehall King, Shatta Wale.

The die has been cast as the full list for the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has been unveiled.

Shatta Wale, who is making his first come-back after four years of being blacklisted is in with six nominations. This includes the ultimate awards, ‘The Artiste of The Year’.

He is competing with other big acts such as Sarkodie, label mate Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle and the late Ebony Reigns for the top most award.

However, many are of the view that it’s going to be between Shatta Wale and the late Ebony Reigns.

Most entertainment pundits, and showbiz enthusiasts have vouched for Ebony to win the coveted Artiste of the year award.

That notwithstanding, the mother of the ‘Taking Over’ hitmaker says she strongly believes her son will walk away that night with the ultimate award.

Madam Elsie in an interview with Razzonline.com  said that she knows her son too well to know that he’ll win the ultimate award.

“There is one thing people don’t want to know…I know the charisma my son has; there is nothing that will pass by him..he is going to take it..no too ways about it”, She said.

Asked if she’s very sure Shatta Wale will win over the late Ebony, Madam Elsie boldly answered that; “I’m telling you that what ever the case may be, my son is going to take it…so I can not tell you that some one is going to take it and leave my son…my son is suppose to take and he will take it”.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is an award scheme designed to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of various stakeholders and players in the entertainment industry.

This year’s event will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on April 14.

There’s also going to be a celebration jam slated for April 28 in Tema. It’s proudly sponsored by Movenpick and Media General

Afia Schwarzenegger Offers Prayers For Zylofon Media Artists

Comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger went on social media to ask her followers for a request. Furthermore, she petitioned people to pray for the artists signed onto Zylofon Media.

However, it is unclear why she would make such a request.

Moreover, the Nana Appiah Mensah owned label has many big names ever since stepping onto the scene. Some of these acts include Becca, Joyce Blessing, Kumi Guitar, Stonebwoy and others.

In a post on social media, Afia Schwar called for prayers for artists signed onto the label.
