Berla Mundi Ranked 2017 Most Influential On-Air Personality On Social Media

EIB Network Limited presenter, Berla [Mundi] Addardey has emerged the 2017 Most Influential On-Air Personality in the 2017 Ghana Social Media Rankings.

Berla Mundi as she’s popularly called is a presenter at Starr FM and GhOne TV.

The ranking which focuses on Radio and TV presenters had Berla Mundi moving from the 2nd position in the 2016 ranking to emerge the frontrunner.

She beat former colleague Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku who is now at Joy 99.7 FM.

Berla happens to have the highest number of followers across Social Media (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram) numbering over 990,000.

She also recorded the highest number of new followers totaling 441,513 in 2017.

Following keenly are Naa Ashorkor and Jessica Opare Saforu who also recorded a total following of over 850,000 and 740,000 followers in 2017.

Findings from the report also indicate Afia Schwarzenegger lost the highest number of followers in 2017 totaling 231,903 across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

New entrants on the annual ranking include: Israel Laryea, Abeiku Santana and Amanda Jissih on the 6th, 7th, and 9th positions respectively.

The ranking which is based on the GSMR Score was analysed from their Social Media followings, Growth Difference, Engagements, Post Reaches and Mentions.

The 2017 Ghana Social Media Rankings was conducted by Avance Media, CliQAfrica, Eazzy Social and Dream Ambassadors Foundation GH.

In a Facebook post, the ‘Rasta Love’ singer said he is the best thing that happened to Ghanaian stand-up comedy.

For weeks now, rumours have been high about the non-existent marriage between Elikem and Pokello Nare.

Moreover, the marriage between former Big Brother Africa housemates might be on the rocks.

Elikem Kumordzi and Pokello Nare have been throwing shade at each other on social media.

Furthermore, rumours of the split intensified this month. It was after Elikem posted a photo of a new ring with a caption to suggest that he will marry again.

In the post, he seemed to suggest that his marriage was a mistake.

The union between the two, after the Ghanaian actor’s public proposal at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards, has been marred by controversies.

Moreover, he spoke about ongoing operations such as Calm life, Cow Leg and Vanguard. Also, they will continue to receive special attention to ensure their success.

Serving alongside the Vice President were the Defense Minister, Dominic Nitiwul and Chief of Defense Staff, Major General Obed Akwa.

Ebony To Be Honoured With A Concert

Ebony Reigns will be remembered.

Organizers of the People’s Celebrity Awards will honor the late Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng popularly known as Ebony with a concert.

Last year, the musician was adjudged ‘Favorite Female Musician of the Year’ at the 2017 edition of the awards.

The organisers revealed that despite her death, her management will get a cash prize on her behalf.

Chief Coordinator for the awards, Mr. Edwin Adinkra made these statements on Spyderlee Entertainment TV.

Also, they’re planning on putting together a concert to honor the musician.

Statement On Concert To Honour Ebony Reigns

‘Ebony will definitely be given her prize. We’re going to talk with her management this week and give her the prize she deserves.

Her plaque and any other thing will be given to her management. If they decide to give it to the family; it’s their choice.

Based on this sad event, we were going to wait and have a very big event to celebrate her after the funeral.

Unfortunately, some of the winners are impatient to receive their prizes so we will stick to 28th February as the presentation date but we will still have something special for Ebony. On that day, there will be a significant amount of time for a specific thing to be done to remember her good works and subsequently organize a big event with the management and her family to at least console them,’ he said.

Don’t Let Stardom Get Into Your Heads – Flowking Stone Cautions Budding Artistes

Sensational hiplife rapper, Flowking Stone has a word of advise for budding musicians Kwami Eugene and King Promise.

According to the self-acclaimed King of Oseikrom rap act, both artistes should not allow themselves to become overly entangled in the fame music brings. This he adds will go a long way to help them especially if they want to remain relevant for a long time.

Flowking Stone however revealed that he is very impressed with the kind of music released by the likes of King Promise and Kuami Eugene.

Flowking Stone Speaks;

He stated: “I am impressed because 2017 was mainly for the new artists. Talk of kids like King Promise, Kuami Eugene and the rest. They did great, they are doing very sweet music and I just hope that they will not be overly into the stardom thing and they will humble themselves and still be here.”

“I feel to be able to here for that long personally, I feel one thing that gets a lot of people back is the ‘guy guy’ thing,” Stone added.

Stone was speaking on the satirical talk show, Tonight starring Andrew Tandoh Adote on Joy Prime TV.

Allow Me To Die – Akroboto Tells ‘Prophets Of Death Prophecies’

All of a sudden, many ‘men of God’ are making so many headlines with their death prophecies.

Many attempts from Ghanaians and industry players to stop these ‘men of God’ from publicly prophesying people’s deaths have proved futile.

Not even a possible court case against them has deterred them from this act.

With their claimed ‘death prophecies’, most celebrities are now living in fear.

However, Kumawood actor, Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto says these so-called death prophesying Prophets should allow him to die.

According to him, death is the ultimate reward of any believer hence he is ready to embrace it anytime. He noted that even Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed are all dead.

For these reasons, he does not fear death and as such wouldn’t panic at the sound of any prophecies.

Akrobeto revealed that, he has on countless occasions received calls regarding such prophecies.

However, whenever, these ‘prophets’ approach him with their death prophecies he asks them a simple question: “will you, the one calling me, also die?

According to him, they always responded in the affirmative so he tells them: “then leave me to die”.

Akrobeto was speaking on the numerous prophecies of death regarding some prominent Ghanaians in the entertainment industry on Adom FM.

Efia Odo Apologizes To Fella Makafui In Social Media Post

Over the week, social media was ablaze because of the catfight between the upcoming celebrities. Efia Odo and Fella Makfui were engaged in a social media fight.

The fight began when Efia Odo took to Snapchat to accuse Fella of being a hypocrite. Furthermore, the actress real name Andrea Owusu in a series of snapchat posts accused the YOLO actress of sleeping with politicians for cash.

She did not just make the claims but also hurled several insults at her.

Moreover, Sista Afia also waded into the fight. She took Efia to the cleaners.

However, now Efia is showing remorse for her actions. She is apologising to Fella for publicly insulting her on social media.

She is asking Fella to forgive her for the unkind words and allegations she made against her days back.

The ‘Heels and Sneakers’ actress in an Instagram video disclosed that her derogatory comments were caused by her anger. Moreover, she realised that she goofed hence the need to apologise.

Catholic University Wins 3rd Edition Of ‘Duapa Challenge’ by British Council

Representatives from the Catholic University College of Ghana put up the most convincing pitch to win the 3rd edition of the ‘Duapa Challenge’. They beat  competitors from University of Ghana, Ashesi University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

The competition was the ‘The Campus Duel’.

Moreover, the students from Catholic University impressed the three (3) judges for the event, Mrs. Comfort Ocran, Jessie Agyapong and Amma Lartey. Therefore, they surpassed the University of Ghana and KNUST. Those schools placed 2nd and 3rdrespectively.

Catholic University took home an amount of Ghc10, 000. Furthermore, this is seed funding for their project of providing skills to inmates at the prisons in Ghana.

The ‘Duapa Challenge’, is part of the British Council’s contributions to the social enterprise ecosystem. It is a social innovation competition. Moreover, it seeks to promote economic growth, private sector development and youth employment through enterprise.

Over the past two years, the competition achieved its aim in identifying and supporting brilliant social enterprises. They include Trotro Tractor, Zaacoal and CowTribe currently in operation

Primarily, the 3rd edition’s focus was on student ventures. Therefore, exploring innovative social enterprise ideas that can be supported to viable businesses.

 

My Fame Is Not From Shatta Wale – Efia Odo

News about a possible romantic affair between dancehall act, Shatta Wale and rising actress Efia Odo made several news headlines in September last year.

The two were captured in a video which went viral lying in bed somehow naked.

As usual, bloggers took hold of the story.  Since then, Efia Odo, born Andrea Owusu keeps trending in the various portals.

However, people who are familiar with how the name Efia Odo started trending had a message for Efia.

According to them Odo should give thanks and praises to Shatta Wale at all times.

This is because, they’re of the view that Efia’s bedroom pictures and video with the Shatta Wale was a blessing in disguise.

Amidst all this, Efia Odo never spoke concerning this topic.

Surprisingly, she has now come out with valid reasons to nullify the assertion that Shatta Wale made her popular.

In a tweet, spotted by Ghaflagh.com, Efia laughed off this assertion. According to her, she was not made famous and can never be made famous by Shatta Wale.

She writes that she couldn’t fathom why she begins to make headlines when she’s seen with the King of the Shatta Movement Empire, Shatta Wale. Meanwhile, he’s been seen with many other girls, yet they never make any headlines except her. She goes on to add that perhaps, it’s not about Shatta but because she’s already ‘ruling.’

She wrote: “Shatta made me famous ?? Lmao how?? He has been seen with lots of other girls but when he’s seen with me it becomes news hmm then maybe it ain’t cuz of Shatta but it’s cuz I’m poppin”.

Meanwhile Efia Odo has ended her feud with colleague actress Fella Makafui. She has apologized to the latter, asking for her forgiveness so they can bury the hatchet.

Epixode Announces “Trinity” Album Listening Session

Dancehall artiste, Epixode unveils his 2nd studio album. The title of the album is “Trinity”. 

He is holing a listening session at Paparazzi Lounge on Sunday, February 25.

The album listening session will host some selected few industry people. Moreover, this is ahead of the main album launch in March on his birthday.

About The Album Trinity From Epixode

Not much information is known about the album. In fact, the musician is tightlipped about details of the album. However, he promised it would be a good follow up after his debut one titled “Spar Junkiez”.

Furthermore, he has already released some mixtapes in the past.

Epixode has had quite a good year outside Ghana playing shows in Zimbabwe and with one crazy banger titled “Kutu”.

He released one song off the upcoming project titled “Single”. The album has Stonebwoy on it plus other few major features with a blend of Reggae, Dancehall and Afrobeats.

Juliet Ibrahim Debunks Break Up Rumors With Latest Video

Few days ago, rumors of a possible break up between Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim and her boyfriend, Nigerian musician Iceberge Slim hit social media.

It was reported that Juliet may have ditched Iceberg since she’s taking off every photo and videos with him her Instagram page.

However, a current video spotted on the official Instagram page of the actress proves that the rumors are probably hoax.

From the video and the caption that accompanies it, we can conclude that contrary to rumors that they had broken up, the two are still deeply in love and together.

The location of the video shows that she is currently in Paris, France with her ‘sweetheart’.

In the video, Juliet is captured planting a quick kiss on the cheek of Iceberg Slim. Both looked so happy as Iceberg gives a cute smile at Juliet’s gesture.

She captioned it: “Happy Anniversary….#Mtvbaseis13 Hurray!!! From Paris avec l’amour ????.” “Avec l’amour” is a French statement which means From Paris with love [Iceberg Slim].

However, fans and followers have also not stopped asking her many questions about the break-up.

For instance, a Nigerian fan by name Oluwatobi Wellington asked: “So you two are still together?”

Whilst, Adaobi, who obviously followed wide media reports of the break up rumors also wrote: “Bloggers can rest now.”

Dony, also a fan, prayed for the ‘couple’. He wrote: “Happy Anniversary… May your village ppl trying to bring you two down not locate you [in Jesus’ name]

Skyqueen, on the other hand couldn’t hide her happiness that her icons are still together. She wrote, “I’m so happy you guys are still together.”

With over over 96,000 likes and 120 comments, another fan, Bright Silas who seemed to be lost with what was happening implores them to get back together. He wrote; “wow! How I love this. I implore you guys to please come back together . Love the videomix on @iamicebergslim posted on his igpage.”

The reply needed most came when Juliet replied Silas with a question; “come back? Where did we go my sister?”

This goes a long way to prove that yes, the ‘love birds’ are still together and basking in love.

Juliet Ibrahim and Iceberg Slim made their relationship public early last year. She jokingly warned him not to break her heart, otherwise Ghanaians would deal with him when they appeared in an interview in Ghana.

Three (3) Ways To Get Rid Of Smelly Feet

One of the most embarrassing moments in life is for you to take off your shoes only for..gosh!! That foul smell. So embarrassing and annoying especially when you don’t live alone. Believe me, those dogs that come smelling your shoes when you leave them outside? Well, pray they don’t carry it away one day. No one wants to deal with the embarrassment of stinky feet. For anyone troubled by stinky feet, the question arises at some point: What exactly is causing my feet to smell?

While most of us have suffered from foot perspiration, damp feet and odor at some point in our lives, for many, sweaty, stinky feet can be a relentless problem that causes much discomfort. Sadly, it can affect the daily lives of many, causing little social life, especially if it’s related to being at a gym, outdoors in the heat of sun or in a situation where shoes need to be removed.

A study conducted at the Skin and Care Foundation in Australia reported that sweaty feet commonly comes with an offensive odor or stinky feet, known as bromhidrosis.

The condition usually begins in childhood or adolescence. However, it can have a negative impact on education, career choices and social development. Who ever feels comfortable being in a crowd with a stinking feet anyways?

There’s however some good news for those who have the problem of stinky feet. The good news is that with a daily hygiene routine, you can eliminate stinky feet and rid yourself of the embarrassment that it may cause.

1. Soak Your Feet

You can try numerous home remedies, such as salt bath, tea soaks and apple cider vineger. With proper hygiene and the rotation of shoes, these practices may help eliminate foot odor.

Tea soaks are one of the most effective home remedies. Simply use four or five tea bags to a quart of water. You can use regular tea bags or even mint tea bags! Make the tea as you normally would, then allow it to cool and soak the feet for about 20 minutes each day.

Castro Is Still Alive But His Girlfriend Is Not – Prophet Reveals

Prophet Cosmos Walker Affran, head of Cosmos Affran Ministries is out once again with another revelation.

This time round, it’s about the long lost Ghanaian musician Theophilus Tagoe known in showbiz as Castro.

According to the Prophet, Castro De Destroyer is alive and in one of the African countries.

Prophet Cosmos Walker Affran made this revealation in an interview with Nana Kwame the Master Planner on OC Showbiz Review on Skyy Power last Saturday.

According to him, Castro is still alive and Ghanaians will soon see him in flesh and blood.

 “Ghanaians will see Castro one day.” He said.

He however revealed that the lady Janet Badu who disappeared with the musician is not alive.

“He’s alive but the lady is not. There are some 5 people who speak to him, ask them where he is.”

Castro and his girlfriend, Janet Badu, both disappeared on July 6, 2014 while using jet skis during a holiday with Asamoah Gyan’s family and other colleagues at a resort in Ada.

All attempts to find them proved futile. However, some Ghanaians still believe that Castro is still alive. Others too have given up any hope of ever hearing their icon sing as they believe he’s dead.

Prophet Cosmos is also known to have prophesied that dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale will die before the end of 2018.

Hiplife Artiste, Wisa Gried has been asked to prepare to open his defense today, February 22 even if his lawyer does not appear before the court.

The order was issued yesterday by Mrs Abena Oppon Adjin-Doku, a judge at the Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Court.

Wisa Gried, born Eugene Ashie told the court on Wednesday that his lawyer, Jerry Avenorgbor was indisposed. This he explained was because the lawyer had been attacked by armed robbers.

He however told the court in the previous sitting that he is ready to produce two witnesses to testify in the trial of the alleged exposure of his manhood.

The ‘Ekiki Mi’ hit singer was supposed to open his defense yesterday, February 21. This was after the Accra Circuit court had dismissed the submission of no case filed by the embattled musician.

Wisa’s Trial;

Wisa Gried is standing trial for allegedly showing his manhood during a live performance on December 24, 2015. This was during the ‘December 2 Remember’ event at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

In the video of the artiste seems to strip whilst rubbing his manhood against his female dancer on stage.  This however compelled his management to apologize for what it described as the artiste’s “rash and irresponsible behavior “.

Wisa has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢8,000, after pleading ‘not guilty’ to gross indecent exposure when he appeared before the Accra Circuit Court.

The Fashion Industry Needs Massive Help From Government – Abrantie The Gentleman

Fashion has become a great deal and a massive part of human lives. There are many countries that are benefiting massively from fashion. However, it looks like Ghana is an exception as one of it’s finest designers is crying out for help.

Oheneba Yaw Boamah, popularly known as Abrantie the Gentleman has expressed his worries over the non-involvement of fashion in the Tourism, Arts and Culture industry.

Abrantie the Gentleman is the founder and creative designer of the award-winning Bespoke fashion brand.

According to him, there are no rights whatsoever that protects the rights of fashion designers and their creative work. This he says has given room for other fashion designers to pilfer others’ creative works without facing any punishment.

“Unlike music and movies, the fashion industry which includes the creative designers, tailors and models are not as protected when it comes to the entertainment industry.” Abrantie lamented.

Abrantie took to his Instagram page to share his worries with Ghanaians. He expressed how heartbroken he was after seeing the knockoff and “messed up” versions of his designs. Not only that but also his custom logo being used by other tailors.

To him, these tailors are using his brand to market themselves without giving him any heads up or regard.

Abrantie’s article;

“Imagine someone taking Sarkodie or any other person’s beat or song without his knowledge. Rights reserved to protect his music and the music industry as a whole would find that defaulter guilty and hence promotes creativity and deters others from stealing in that industry. However same can’t be said about ours.”

“We also go through a lot of processes and work hard to produce the designs we come out with so it is very painful to see someone using your hard work without regarding it.” he continued.

According to him, he received the greatest shock at the one week memorial service of the late Ebony. This he explains is because he saw Bullet, Manager of late dancehall artiste Ebony in one of his customized shirt designs. Meanwhile he knows very well that he didn’t design and sew that shirt in particular.

As professional as he is, Abrantie the Gentleman, however, did not blame Bullet for wearing or purchasing a knockoff of his design. Instead he blames the designer who made it.

He called on the media and the Tourism, Arts and Culture industry to throw more light on fashion as a sub of the entertainment industry. He further urged them to make known rights that protect their brands and designs as fashion designers.

“Ghanaians are constantly being compared to Nigerians because of things like this. They protect their fashion designers. Why can’t we do same? Nigerians have done it so we can also do it.” He queried.

Don’t get me wrong, this is no comedy, this is reality.

However, in a flash back, the genesis of this saga goes back to a call by DKB for comedians to join him fight Charterhouse. Their purpose was to fight the organization for always bringing in Nigerian comedians to perform at programs whilst ignoring Ghanaian comedians.

According to the comedian turned musician, both of them teamed up and created fake accounts on social media years ago to to attack and defame event organizers, Charterhouse and some personalities.

David dropped this bombshell during an interview on the “Total Showbiz” segment of Okay FM’s “Ekwansodwodwo” drive time program.

Angry Oscar, described DKB( Derrick Kobina Bonney) as a hypocrite. This he said is because after all their plans DKB broke all communications with him for over three years. However, he (DKB) called him just two weeks ago, that he was doing a documentary on comedy in Ghana. Adding that DKB is asked him to attack Charterhouse as part of the documentary. Meanwhile DKB now runs around town with George Quaye (Head of Communications at Charterhouse) as if he’s his best friend.

He also said if DKB is the ‘king of comedy’ like he proclaims then he should take on Charterhouse on his own.

“Are you not the self-imposed king of GH comedy, so why don’t you fight them? You are friends with George Quaye, are you not? Although you and I, we teamed up to create anonymous accounts on twitter to attack the likes of George Quaye, Nii Aryee Tagoe and others. They see you as a friend, don’t they? I am sure they see you as a friend because you are the good guy and David Oscar is the bad guy. Now you are coming to me to go and attack Charterhouse but I said no! I won’t do that. You are a hypocrite. Why don’t you go and fight them yourself?”David Oscar lamented.

In order to affirm his claims, DKB was reached on phone on the same program to react to David’s allegations.

DKB, in response, said Oscar is only bitter hence his attacks on him.
