Terry Frempong-Masson is facing charges for fraud.

Terry is the CEO of TM Entertainmentz. They organise big shows such as the Sarkodie Live in USA tours. He is facing charges for allegedly using fake identities. He did it to steal more than $250,000 worth of film equipment from companies in Arizona, Georgia and Indiana.

Charges Leveled Against Terry Mason

According to reports, he was arrested and charged Feb. 2 with one count of theft by deception, two counts of identity theft. Also, one count of receiving stolen property, one count of money laundering. Furthermore, one count of conspiracy to commit theft by deception, and one count of criminal attempt to commit theft by deception. This is according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey and Perth Amboy Police Chief Roman McKeon.

According to an investigation by Perth Amboy Sgt. Mabner Terron and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Christopher Pennis, between Jan. 19 and Feb. 2, Frempong-Masson allegedly placed online orders for the rental or purchase of film equipment from three film companies using fraudulent identities.

Using a fraudulent identity, Frempong-Masson placed an order for $30,000 worth of film equipment with a film company based in Chesterfield, Indiana, and had the order shipped to his home in Perth Amboy’s Harbortown housing complex.

He allegedly also placed a $114,000 rental order with an Arizona-based film equipment company for delivery to his Perth Amboy home. In addition, Frempong-Masson traveled to Atlanta to receive more than $130,000 worth of rental equipment. This was from another film company that was acquired allegedly using a fake identity.

Shirley Frimpong-Manso is adding a new title to her long list.

Award-winnng filmmaker, Shirley Frrimpong-Manso has reportedly started working at TV Africa. She has the position of Chief Operating Officer.

According to reports, the hiring is recent. This was due to the fact that the TV station realised that it was not progressing as expected.

However, Shirley is already at post working hard as COO.

Shirley’s new position at TV Africa adds to her already existing duties. These duties the founder and CEO of Sparrow Productions, a film, television, and advertising production company.

Coded is telling his side of the story.

Coded, member of the 4X4 music group, has revealed that the idea for the group to go solo came from Fresh Prince. However, he was actually in opposition to the idea.

According to him, the decision was taking collectively by the group. This was after Fresh Prince brought the idea but at the time he wasn’t on board with it.

About 4X4

4X4 is a three man group. It is made up of Captain Planet, Fresh Prince and Coded. However, for the past couple of years, they have been releasing only solo projects. Despite rumours of a break-up, they have maintained they are still together and they’ve remained so.

Broken heart is a terrible thing. Nana Boroo fell victim to it.

The ‘Aha Y3 D3’ hitmaker, Nana Boroo, blamed a broken heart he suffered for his long hiatus from the music industry.

His biggest single, ‘Aha y3 d3’ dominated the airwaves in 2010. This was followed by ‘Bebiasoso” in 2014.

However, after these singles, the Tema-based artiste went into hibernation. A lot of critics were of the opinion that his music career was dead.

Boroo provided very scanty details. He revealed that his girlfriend left him for a fellow industry person. He said it affected him so badly that he couldn’t concentrate on music.

The singer said, apart from being occupied with other stuff, he had to spend a lot of time mending his broken heart.

He revealed this to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.

“Been busy with other stuff, being work, business, and … healing the heart small.”

He has new music out called ‘Broken Heart’. The song is the musician’s reflection of his recent heartbreak experiences. It also features rapper Sarkodie.

Furthermore, he asked for fans to send him their heartbreak stories on his social media platforms and the one which touches the most will win a package from him.

Pope Skinny hopes to be part of the Zylofon Family.

Host of ‘Kasahari Level’ on Adom FM, Pope Skinny, has indicated that he won’t turn down an offer from Zylofon Media. That is if they should call on him.

He stated this in an interview on Spyderlee Entertainment TV said.

“we’re all hoping to get endorsements like these. It’s my dream to be signed on to a big label like this…I’m so open. I mean if it comes I’ll just laugh and thank my God and just embrace it. He (Nana Appiah Mensah) is a good person; I’ve had the chance of meeting and interacting with him. So who knows? I mean the money is good, the business is good, the environment is good; who wouldn’t wish for this?”

Furthermore, he was asked what he thought about Shatta Wale’s move to Zylofon Media. He stated,

“It’s a big platform for Shatta Movement. This is what we’ve all been waiting for. This is the first time someone is pumping this much money into the arts industry. Our kind of work needs more money to go places so if we have a big platform like this which is ready to invest in what we do, I mean this is the best thing we could all wish for. Members of Shatta Movement are so happy. Before the signing, we were doing big exploits with our own money, strength and other resources.”

Kuami Eugene is in hot waters.

The fast-rising musician has been accused of stealing his new song.

Kuami Eugene recently dropped a new song, ‘Confusion’. The song has garnered a lot of attention as his other songs.

Allegation Of Theft

The song and its accompanying music video bear a striking similarity to a song by Malian composer Sidiki Diabate. Therefore, this has led to accusations that Eugene ‘stole’ the Malian’s song.

However, the young Lynx entertainment star has responded to the allegations. He claims he was inspired by Diabate, rather than stealing his song.

Moreover, other inspirations which went into his song included Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba.

Kuami Eugene’s Statement

“Ghanaians must note the fact that, my song has the feel of Kojo Antwi’s “Dadie Anoma”, Daddy Lumba and also an inspiration from Sidiki Diabaté song ‘Fais moi Confiance‘. So I didn’t steal the song, I only took an inspiration from them and credited all of them in the song. That is the definition of creativity.” 

“Ebony took an inspiration from Daddy Lumba’s song “Poison” and composed her hit song “poison. Also, Nigeria’s Wizkid sampled VIP’s “Ahomka Womu” and came out with “Manya”.  That doesn’t mean they stole the songs , they are only paying respects to the legends.

“To me what really makes an artist is researching to be able to give your fans variety of music. That is why Kojo Antwi releases highlife today and reggae tomorrow. This is because Ghanaians gets fed up with one stuff. However, picking a vibe from Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba and Malian artist enriches the song and gives the song a Mailan feel as well as Ghanaian feel. At the end of the day, the song is a highlife song and that is why I credited them by writing highlife music to the world.”

Daddy Lumba needs his impersonator to go away.

Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu affectionately called Daddy Lumba is going to court. He is taking Kwame Anokye to court. Anokye has pretended to be his son for material gains, benefits and publicity for a long time.

The ‘Yentie Obia’ hitmaker filed the lawsuit at an Accra High Court. He alleges that Kwame Anokye impersonates him.

Genesis Of The Story

The story began when Kwame Anokye appeared on TV Africa’s reality show dubbed “Just Like You”. It was a reality show where talented youths imitate and demonstrate how their favourite artiste sings, speaks and performs on stage.

However, Kwame Anokye did not let the impersonation end there. Moreover, he carried on to portray himself as his son because of his great resemblance with the hitmaker.

Furthermore, according to the highlife sensation, Kwame Anokye’s impersonation has affected his business, brand and reputation.

He believes that, the name Daddy Lumba is exclusively his in the music industry. Therefore, no one has the right to use it in the entertainment industry.

Daddy Lumba has about 30 albums to his credit. He is considered to be one of the veteran sensational highlife musicians Ghana has ever had. His music is loved by many Ghanaians because of his creative use of the local language in his music.
