Video: Ebony And Efia Odo In A Fierce ‘Mpotompoto’ Battle

In our African society, cooking is a skill every girl must know.

However, there is always a bad perception about our celebrities when it comes to working in the kitchen.

One thing that’s certain is the fact that people don’t only learn how to cook from mothers these days.

Besides, there are different kinds of foods coming into the system almost everyday and one has to be abreast of time.

Thanks to technology, one can get almost every recipe of any food on the internet.

What matters however is to frequently practice what you learn to be perfect just like mothers teach us.

Two celebrities Ghanaians will probably doubt can even find their way into a kitchen not to talk of doing the cooking are dancehall star Ebony Reigns and actress Efia Odo.

In a video spotted by Gaflagh.com, Ebony is seen battling it out with the semi-nude actress Efia Odo.

They were cooking a local dish called “Mpotompoto”.

Though both seem to struggle through the process, the result was an unexpected one in the end

The judges were astonished at the taste of the food and as to whose tasted best.

In the end, both were declared winners as it was a tie between them according to the judges.

A little on ‘Mpotompoto’

‘Mpotompoto'(Yam Porridge) is a local dish common amongst the Ewes and Akans.

Instead of yam, some people substitute it with either cocoyam or sweet potato.

GBC Director To Go On Leave For Mishandling TV License Issues

The Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Dr. Akuffo Annor-Ntow, has proceeded on leave with immediate effect.

The decision to have him go on leave was taken on after a meeting involving the Corporation’s board.

Board Chairman of GBC, Reverend Professor Emmanuel Addo-Obeng, explained the decision. He stated that is was due to Dr. Annor-Ntow’s poor handling of the TV License issue.

Apparently, he said the National Media Commission (NMC) has already been notified about the directive. However, he was quick to add that the duration of the Director General’s leave has not yet been decided.

According to him, the GBC Board will have to consult the NMC. They would decide on how long the Director-General is supposed to stay on leave.

His Statement

“We are going to immediately engage NMC to discuss a whole lot of issues affecting GBC and the future of the state broadcaster.”

Furthermore, he stated that an interim management team has been set up to steer the affairs of the GBC until issues are resolved.

“We have put an interim management committee in place with a board member and two directors of GBC to hold the fort while this consultation goes on.”

Meanwhile, news of the directive to have Dr. Annor-Ntow proceed on leave is not surprising. This is due to his decision to prosecute defaulters of the TV License fees.

Dr. Annor-Ntow came in for strong criticism for spearheading a move to set up 11 courts nationwide prosecute those who fail to pay their TV License fees.

Although the move was suspended following the public uproar, the GBC Board deemed Dr. Annor-Ntow to have handled the issue poorly and that has now led to a directive to have him proceed on leave.

Gospel Musicians Should Stay Away From Alcohol – Philipa Baafi Urges

Gospel musician, Philipa Baafi has condemned Gospel musicians who indulge in alcohol.

According to her, there are some gospel artistes who take alcohol before they perform.

Statement from Philipa Baafi

“I will not dispute that fact and it is not only the females, the males are also into the act. It is a human institution and we have bad nuts in there. It’s not only alcohol. Also, people are involved in other things.

But my brother, why will you take alcohol before you perform? Our Bible indicates that we should be filled with the Holy Spirit. Thererefore, the Holy Spirit will lead you to perform so why should you drink before you perform.”

Therefore, she is warning gospel musicians to desist from taking alcohol. This is because God abhors such behaviour, particularly from people who have devoted themselves to propagate the gospel.

Lil Win Uses “Juju” To Stay Relevant In The Movie Industry — Kwaku Manu

It seems there is a lot to be revealed about the movie industry.

Kumadwood star, Kwaku Manu has revealed shocking tales about the movie industry. He stated that the movie industry is dying gradually. This is as a result of too much use of black magic–“juju” by some actors and actresses.

According to Kwaku Manu, some famous and top actors and actresses are obsessed with the use of “juju”. They use it to stay relevant and always get movie roles in the industry. This is done at the expense of the few actors and actresses who rely solely on God for movie roles.

Finally, Kwaku Manu pleaded with authorities to put necessary structures and systems in place. This was to help lift the ‘dying’ industry on its feet.
