Wiyaala is going to host a new weekly show on Radio Progress. This is Upper West Region’s first and most popular radio station.
The 90 minute slot is called, “Time With Wiyaala”. The show will run every Thursday from 8pm to 9.30pm starting 23rd November.
Wiyaala’s is to play music by some of the Upper West’s leading talents, old and new. Furthermore, she will chat with artists about their careers and aspirations as musicians in the “forgotten” region.

“I’ll be trying to introduce my audience to the diverse forms of music that exist in our region. Whilst technology is helpful to music making, I feel we are in danger of losing something of value if we don’t draw on our rich heritage when making modern music. I’ll be encouraging the young musicians to work on their live performance skills. Artists who mime are unlikely to make it to international stages. The platform also gives me the opportunity to push the causes of children and young women”, the singer said.
Wiyaala is an officially appointed GACA (Ghana Against Child Abuse) and UNICEF Ghana influencer.
Ga-rap king Nii Addo Quaynor, best known in showbiz as Tinny has released a new song titled “Aarooli”(We Rollin).
King of Rap, Sarkodie features on this one and is produced by Marcel.
The Ga-rapper has been absent from the music industry for a while now.

The 2017 People’s Celebrity Awards(PCA) was launched yesterday November 21, 2017 .

Multiple award winning rapper, Sarkodie, has added another award to his trophy-laden cabinet.
The BET Award winner has won the ‘Best African Act’ at the 2017 daf BAMA Music Awards.
His latest accolade was announced on Sunday, November 17, 2017 at an event held at the BarclayCard Arena, Hamburg, Germany.
Sarkodie beat fellow Ghanaian, Stonebwoy and four Nigerian artistes; Wizkid, P-Square, Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage to win the award.

Kumawod Actor and musician, Lilwin is set to heat up Kumasi come December 30.
Organized by Boss Nation Music Group, the concert is dubbed ‘Mefiri Kumasi’.

Yesterday, we wrote a story about allegations of Ahuofe Patri addiction to marijuana. The actress real name Priscilla Opoku Agyemang was said to be a heavy wee smoker. This had made her mom and other family members were overly worried about the new route she had taken in her life.

However, it seems that Ahuofe Patri is responding to the allegations.
She took to Instagram to state that she is unbothered and working on herself.

Female broadcaster and artiste manager, Frema Ashkar has taken a swipe at ‘Sponsor’ hitmaker Ebony.
Ever since she dropped her previous single titled ‘Sponsor’, Ebony has become more popular on the airwaves. She recently released a song, ‘Hustle’, that has been well received. She explained
‘Hustle’ talks about the Struggles people go through on a daily basis to survive. The song features Brella, a newly signed artiste of Ruff Town Records. Hustle is centred on a trader who out of frustration of getting poor sales, pleads on presumptive customers to buy her items.”
However, Frema Ashkar discussed the song on ‘Good Morning Ghana’ on Metro TV. She says she is not impressed with the direction of Ebony’s music career. Although, Ebony has released a couple of that is doing well, she is not growing as she (Frema) expected.
“As a musician, everybody is a competitor and so we are going to be marking you along those lines. She came up with a couple of songs Sponsor and the other one well which I think she was doing so well. Personally I was expected her to grow but she is not being creative, she is not growing. I mean in communication where you place your punctuation marks can change the whole meaning of your sentence. Therefore, when you keep the breaks you can not tell me you are not saying other things”, Frema Ashkar stated candidly.
The broadcaster continued with her opinions, “Sex sells but beyond that then what? Let us see the substance in you, the quality in you, you came out with that— is that all we are going to be having? Quite honestly we are tired of that.”
Highlife legend, Nana Acheampong has counseled dancehall artiste Shatta Wale to focus on his music career and avoid any sort of ‘beef’ with anyone.
Shatta Wale, last week made headlines when he said in an interview that he does not see Nigerian artiste Wizkid as a superstar.
Adding that, unlike some of his colleagues get star struck when they see Wizkid, he(Shatta Wale) won’t do that. That however brought some sort of ‘beef’ between fans of both artistes. Social media has not had rest since this happened.
Nana Acheampong Speaks
Reacting to this on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM, Nana Acheamponge advised Shatta Wale to concentrate on his music and avoid such encounters with other artistes. He also disclosed he is about working on collaboration with the dancehall artist.
“Shatta Wale is champion in dancehall just like Nana Acheampong is also a champion. So I’ll beseech him to be patient and concentrate on his music. He’s very good; he should continue doing what he does best. I don’t know a lot about the beef with Wizkid but he should end it and concentrate on his music because he’s too good,” he told show host, Bismark Boachie aka DJ Premier.
He further advised all up and coming artistes to exercise patience in their line of work so as to succeed;
“That aside, I’ll advise up and coming musicians to be patient because to succeed is about loving your fans and vice versa because without the fans, you can’t make it,” he added.

The 9th edition of 4Syte TV Music Video Awards(MVA’s) 2017 came off at the Accra International Conference Center on November 18, 2017.
The event saw lot of marvelous performances from artistes; Stonebwouy, VVIP, Becca, Praiz, Captain Planet (of the 4×4 fame) and many others.
The Rap King, Sarkodie surprised the audience with his appearance on the stage and got everyone on their feet.
Sarkodie, who topped all the nominees with nine(9) nominations also emerged the over all Best Video awards winner with his ‘Overdose’ video which features Jesse Jagz.
‘Overdose’ is one of the 18 tracks on Sarkodie’s ‘Highest’ Album. It was shot and directed by David Nicol-Sey North Production.
There were also performances from award-winning acts, Stonebwoy, VVIP, Becca, Praiz, Captain Planet, Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, Wutah, King Promise, B4bonah and many others.
