Celestine Donkor Advices Ebony To Stop With Nudity

Ebony seems to attract everyone’s attention these days.

The latest person to speak about Ebony’s act is gospel singer, Celestine Donkor.

There is no animosity between the two artistes. However, in recent times there’s been a lot of controversy surrounding Ebony’s act. This involves showing of skin and sexually suggestive moves.

Her management has come out to address the issue by saying that’s her brand. However, it seems not everybody is on board with this image.

Addressing this, Celestine Donkor decided to write an open letter to the artiste on Facebook, to advise her.

In the letter, she commended her for her talent and style but advised her to desist from exposing her nakedness to the public.

Celestine Donkor’s Words

#Dear Ebony
I have taken time to listen to your songs, and watched most of your live performances on utube. I must say you are a very talented artist….actually ..

#YourTalent&Style: weight for me, is like combining 3 secular female artist whom I don’t want to mention their names here.

#YourLyrics: are very smart and takes a very strong feminist disposition- Empowering women and bringing out challenges and Delimer that young ladies face.

#YourVoice: is simply amazing! Very strong and catches attention instant attention without negotiation.

#YourBrand: though still developing Is a contageous fever that can’t be ignored. With a strategic management team, you are capable of contending with any Competitor.

Now the contradiction about you is how you interpret all these great qualities on stage….. My point is with all these….. Is ‘nudity’ necessary? I really want to know, what value does exposing your nakedness to the public add to your brand…. Because actually, it’s not Like going nakedly wild on stage is something new……. Mzbel did that before…. ….

Shatta Wale Will Apologize To Ghanaians – Bola Ray

Over the past week, social media has been set ablaze with the feud between Shatta Wale and Nigerians.

This feud came about when his words were taken out of context. This has generated a lot of back and forth between the ‘Dancehall King’ and the majority of Nigerians.

However, things took a turn when he released a video that showed him shooting a gun. The video has caused an upset amongst Ghanaians.

Here is the video

https://youtu.be/97PXRr9d7Qo

Bola Ray was not happy with the stunt and so he called Shatta Wale out on it. He narrated the conversation on Starr FM.

I called him up on Saturday and I had some strong words for him. Together with Kwami Sefa Kayi for 30 minutes, we were on the phone with him and I think that is so bad, uncalled for, uncultured and I condemn it.

Yes, he says he’s going to apologize and I’m waiting for him to do that. I don’t mince words and I’m saying it for the first time on radio that, I did that. I didn’t mince words at all and I think that from how he came about, he was remorseful about it and says he was just…but I won’t go into details,” Bola Ray said on Starr FM.

DKB Expresses Disappointment At Shatta Wale For Calling Himself ‘Naija’ Boy

Award-winning Ghanaian Comedian, DKB, has expressed his disappointment at Shatta Wale for calling himself a ‘Naija’ boy.

It all started about two weeks ago when dancehall artiste Shatta Wale said in an interview that he didn’t see Nigeria’s darling boy, Wizkid as a super star.

Leading to massive trolling from Nigerians to the ‘taking over’ crooner on social media.

In light of the mishaps, Shatta Wale has released a number of songs, standing his ground by defending his statements and cementing his claims including one dubbed ‘I Be Naija Boy’.

He then took to social media to alert his fans and followers to stream and download the song which according to him is better than all of Wizkid’s songs combined.

Shatta was captured to have written boldly ‘ I Be Naija Boy’, perhaps, referring to his song in a recent tweet.

DKB Tweet

This, however, did not go down well with Ghanaian Comedian DKB.

He has expressed his disappointment at Shatta Wale for calling himself a Naija Boy. In a tweet the comedian said “So now @shattawalegh deny we Ghanaians to call himself a Naija boy? This is betrayal…I’m very disappointed.

This is not to say Nigerian is our enemy, but we are on the same ship fighting for the same things for our industry. It is not fair for him to call himself a Naija boy when Ghanaians were behind him after the incident. It is a stab in the back and I am very disappointed”

Shatta Wale, is however, yet to respond to DKB’s comment.

Benefits Of Aloe Vera For The Skin

Aloe vera is a plant species of the genus Aloe. It grows wild in tropical climates around the world. The plant is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. Aloe is used for decorative purposes and grows successfully indoors as a potted plant.

We have already extolled the benefits of aloe vera juice. However, this post is about the benefits of aloe vera to the skin.

It acts as a moisturizer.

Aloe moisturizes the skin without giving it a greasy feel. This makes it perfect for anyone with an oily skin complexion. For women who use mineral-based make-up, aloe vera acts as a moisturizer. It is great for the face prior to the application to prevents skin drying. For men: Aloe vera gel can be used as an aftershave treatment as its healing properties can treat small cuts caused by shaving.

It treats acne.

Aloe vera gel contains two hormones: Auxin and Gibberellins. These two hormones provide wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin inflammation. Giberellin in aloe vera acts as a growth hormone stimulating the growth of new cells. It allows the skin to heal quickly and naturally with minimal scarring.

Aloe is soothing and can reduce skin inflammations, blistering and itchiness, while helping the skin to heal more rapidly.

It fights aging.

As we age, everyone begins to worry about the appearance of fine lines and the loss of elasticity in their skin. Aloe vera contain a plethora of antioxidants including, beta carotene, vitamin C and E that can help improve the skin’s natural firmness and keep the skin hydrated.

It lessens the visibility of stretch marks.

The skin is elastic and as such it’ll expand and contract as needed to accommodate growth. However when the skin stretches too far, too fast (due to pregnancy, rapid weight gain or loss) the elasticity of the skin can be damaged. That’s what leaves those unsightly stretch marks. Moreover, these marks appear due to minor tears in the layers of the skin caused by sudden and excessive stretching. Aloe vera gel can help hide these stretch marks by healing these wounds.

We Are Killing Our Stars – Tic Tac To Ghanaians

Hip life musician, Tic Tac, is not happy with the attitude of Ghanaians. He spoke about how Ghanaian music fans neglect artistes when new ones emerge.

He made these statements in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on ‘Celebrity Radar’ on Citi FM. Tic Tac said Ghanaians have not been fair to him in his career.

Nigeria will always have 2face, respect D’banj, Toni Tetuila and all these guys. They always give them shows so they always release new music. These stars are then happy to show the way,” he said.

But we are killing our stars. Once our musicians are growing to become superstars, we cripple them with lies, disrespect. Therefore, they are left stranded. I thank God for my life, I think Ghanaians have let me down but it’s not late; we still have more to do,” Tic Tac stated.

Also, he lent his voice to the fight to reduce Nigerian influence on the Ghanaian music market and rather make Ghanaian music more visible in Nigeria.

According to Tic Tac, it takes more than insults to penetrate the Nigerian market.

Being the first Ghanaian hip life artiste to have broken into the Naija market, I thought it was necessary for people to have asked me how I was able to penetrate the Nigerian market. But all they do is to insult me. I think Ghanaian musicians need to come together, work hard and we can get there,” he added.

Sarkodie Disrespected Me – Yemi Alade

Well it seems not everyone feels as deeply about Sarkodie.

Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter, Yemi Alade has said she has ceased being a fan of Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie. This is because Sarkodie disrespected her and failed to feature on her song.

Yemi Alade made these statements to Bola Ray on Starr Chat show. Yemi Alade revealed how disappointed she was when Sarkodie refused to show up. This was after her management team and that of Sarkodie had agreed to meet in the USA, UK and South Africa.

Her Words

I’ve really tried my best to really not go into details but the long and short on why i don’t want to dwell on this is that is super unfair, unprofessional and unkind for international acts or even artistes to have a dealing with anybody and after agreeing to certain things, you don’t come through at all. There were three different countries and three different venues where my team and I had an agreement with Sarkodie and he didn’t come through.

“I don’t want to bring in the feminine and masculine inequality we’re experiencing in the industry and i don’t want to link it to that. I was pained as a person but i’ll say it is almost impossible to promote a project that is supposed to be for two people when the other party isn’t coming through at all, the music pretty much suffers.”

Bola asked if she felt disrespected and she replied in the affirmative.

“I definitely felt disrespected. However, the good part about it is I already had a name for myself. I’ll continue to do that for as long as I can and as God leads me to. It was just a point in my career that I went over and I’m so fortunate. For instance I’m here in Ghana and working on a song with Mzvee. It takes two to tango. I’m here to support her and she supports me too.”

Yemi Alade asserted that even though Sarkodie hasn’t apologised, she’s not waiting for one.

He didn’t get back to apologise, but I’m cool and not bothered at all. I tried three times, it is enough. We sort of like found ourselves in same location in America, UK and in South Africa and anytime we always got thumbs up but the moment we step out of that box to get things done and probably link up at the agreed point, it never happened, it was gross unprofessionalism as far as i’m concern and I really don’t want to talk about it because I’m like it’s over and done.“

Finally, she said, “I don’t listen to his music, no more fan of him. I only work with artistes I’m a fan of. I’m just not a fan of him anymore.

Paul Okoye (alias Paul), the founder of the One Africa Music Fest, has apologized to Sarkodie, his team and fans. He apologized for the incidents that led to Sarkodie not performing at the recent concert in Dubai.

His apology would undoubtedly put to bed the brouhaha about the incidence.

As of now, we don’t know if Sarkodie has accepted the apology. Furthermore, there were reports that Sarkodie would not perform on the platform again.

His Words

On November 16, 2017, One Africa Global (OAG), held the fifth installment of the One Africa Music Fest (OAMF) in Dubai. It turned out to be a hugely successful event that was enjoyed by a sold out crowd. It was also live streamed to millions of fans around the world.

As we continue to build our brand, we hold ourselves accountable to the highest esteem of professionalism and integrity to both our fans and artists and will continue to reach across all cultures, boundaries and understandings that collectively form One Africa. At the same time we call on all performing artists and fans alike to embrace that they appear as ambassadors of our culture and genre of music, and as such they must equally be held accountable for their behavior when attending one of our events, especially with regards to artists who are judged not only in their individual capacity but also on the actions and inactions of their entourage.

However we would like to offer our sincerest apologies to Sarkodie, his team and all his fans. Due to management’s miscommunication,  he could not perform and we regret that we missed out on his performance.

We at OAG are personally accountable on delivering on all our commitments. I take it to heart when commitments are not fulfilled to either the artist or the fans. As we continue to improve our platform and the experience shared by the artist and fans our goals remain undeterred bringing Afrobeats enthusiasts under one roof, one shared love, one family, One Africa.
Thank you.

5 Reasons You Should Gift Dark Chocolate To That ‘Special Someone’ This Xmas

Thinking of what to gift that special person this Christmas. Well, you might have heard of the numerous health risks of eating too much chocolate.

Hey, if that is your worry, then worry no more because, dark chocolates are exception.

Keep in mind that all chocolate was not created equal;

Dark chocolate packs more of a health punch overall, but even the bittersweet varieties can be high in calories, fat and sugar.

However, treating yourself to a small amount regularly is definitely a health message we can get behind.

Take a look at some of the surprising health benefits below;

1.It Improves Blood Flow

Cocoa has anti-clotting, blood-thinning properties  that work in a similar way to aspirin which can improve blood flow and circulation.

2. It Can Quiet Coughs

Can’t stop coughing? An ingredient in chocolate called theobromine seems to reduce activity of the vagus verve, the part of the brain that triggers hard-to-shake coughs. In late 2010, the BBC reported that scientists were investigating creating a drug containing theobromine to replace cough syrups containing codeine, which can have risky side effects.

 3. It Protects Your Skin

Forget what you’ve heard about chocolate causing breakouts: Dark chocolate is actually good for your skin. The type of antioxidants called flavonoids found in it offer some protection from UV damage from the sun. And no, that does not mean you can skip the sunscreen!
4. It May Fight Diabetes
A small Italian study from 2005 found that regularly eating chocolate increases insulin sensitivity, thereby reducing risk of diabetes.
5.  It Improves Vision
Because of chocolate’s ability to improve blood flow, in particular to the brain, researchers at the University of Reading hypothesized in a small 2011 study that it may also increase blood flow to the retina, thereby giving vision a boost.
So now that you know the health benefits, don’t you think giving at least a bar to that special person this festive season would cause no harm?
Besides, who doesn’t love chocolate, well some do but the lovers are many.
