5 Types Of Foods To Avoid For B Blood Type

Not all blood types are the same. There are four types of blood, A, B, AB and O, and the presence or absence of certain antigens is what determines your blood type according to the American Red Cross. These Antigens- A and B- -are substances that can trigger an immune response if they are foreign to your body. Based on these difference, there are basically some foods to avoid for each blood type group.

For Type B’s, the biggest factors in weight gain are corn, wheat, buckwheat, lentils, tomatoes, peanuts and sesame. Each of these foods affect the efficacy of your metabolic process, resulting in fatigue, fluid retention, and hypoglycemia – severe drop in blood sugar after eating a meal.

Today, we’ll begin with foods for blood type B. The others will be treated in our subsequent posts. If you have type B positive blood, there are certain foods that you need to avoid to achieve and maintain good health.

The following are foods for blood type B people;

Meats

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter whether you have B positive or B negative blood, the foods that you shouldn’t eat, including meat, are the same. While you’re encouraged to eat lamb, goat, venison, rabbit and fish, you’re discouraged from eating chicken and pork. You should also skip other types of poultry such as duck, according to the Everydiet website, though you can eat small portions of turkey. Shellfish such as lobster, crab or shrimp are also not recommended for you, instead, fish such as salmon, sardines, cod, halibut, mackerel, sea trout, sole and flounder are highly recommended in your diet. You should also limit how much beef you eat if you have type B blood.

Fruits and Vegetables

Though fruits and vegetables are an essential part of your diet because they supply key vitamins and minerals, there are a few varieties that you shouldn’t eat if you have B positive blood. While you can eat most fruits on the Blood Type Diet, two varieties to avoid are coconuts and pomegranates. If you have type B blood, you can fill up on leafy greens like broccoli, brussels sprouts, kale, collard greens, beet leaves and mustard greens as they aid up with weight loss by speeding metabolism, but you should skip corn, tomatoes, avocados and pumpkin. Beets, yams, sweet potatoes, carrots, red and white cabbage, eggplant and all types of peppers are also considered good choices for type-B people.

Grains and Legumes

Rice bran, spelt and millet, oatmeal are among the grains and any other product made with oat or rice flour that are permitted if you have type B blood , but there are other options that you should eliminate from your diet. These include lentils and wheat, including wheat-based foods such as bread and pasta. You should also avoid certain varieties of beans, including garbanzo beans and black beans if you have type B positive blood.

Eggs and Low Fat Diaries

When it comes to diary products, an individual with type- B blood is said to benefit most from yogurt, low- or non fat milk, goat milk or cheese such as mozzarella, ricotta, cottage, feta or farmer cheese. These along with eggs, supposedly contribute to efficient metabolism for type-B people.

You can eat most dairy foods if you have B positive blood, but you should avoid blue cheese and American cheese, according to Everydiet. You should also skip certain condiments and spices such as ketchup and pepper. Distilled liquor, such as brandy, whiskey, rum, gin and vodka, are also off-limits if you have B positive blood.

Fill Your Cup With Tea and Juice

For people who have type-B  blood, licorice tea is allegedly a good way to avoid hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Other beneficial beverages include green tea; herbal teas containing peppermint, ginger, ginseng, sage, rose hips or raspberry leaf; and juices prepared from pineapple, grapes, papaya, cranberries or cabbage.

Knowing your blood type is very essential. So you might want to pass by the hospital to check which group you belong to if you don’t know yours whiles those who already know theirs can follow these tips for a more healthy living. Remember, your health is your life. The rest of the blood types would be treated in our subsequent posts.

Check Out 5 Health Benefits of Eating Avocados

Avocados are stone fruit with a creamy texture that grow in warm climates. Their potential health benefits include improving digestion, decreasing risk of depression, and protection against cancer.

Also known as an alligator pear or butter fruit, the versatile avocado is the only fruit that provides substantial amount of healthy Monounsaturated Fatty Acids (MUFA).

Avocados are packed with disease-fighting antioxidants. Find out how eating this delicious food will benefit your health.

Yes, avocados are relatively high in fat and calories (138 calories and 14.1g fat in half a medium-sized avocado). But they’re also one of the best foods you can eat, packed with nutrients and heart-healthy compounds. Here are five great reasons to eat them regularly.

1. Avocados can help you lose weight

Half an avocado contains 3.4 grams of fibre, including soluble and insoluble, both of which your body needs to keep the digestive system running smoothly. Plus, soluble fibre slows the breakdown of carbohydrates in your body, helping you feel full for longer.

Avocados also contain oleic acid, a fat that activates the part of your brain that makes you feel full. Healthier unsaturated fats containing oleic acid have been shown to produce a greater feeling of satiety than less-healthy saturated fats and trans fats found in processed foods.

2. Avocados are packed with carotenoids for good eye sight.

Avocados are a great source of lutein, a carotenoid that works as an antioxidant and helps protect against eye disease. They also contain the related carotenoids zeaxanthin, alpha-carotene and beta-carotene, as well as tocopherol (vitamin E).

But avocados aren’t just a rich source of carotenoids by themselves-they also help you get more of these nutrients from other foods. Carotenoids are lipophilic (soluble in fat, not water), so eating carotenoid-packed foods like fruits and vegetables along with monounsaturated-fat-rich avocados helps your body absorb the carotenoids. An easy way to do this is to add sliced avocado to a mixed salad.

3. Avocados can protect your unborn baby-and your heart

One cup of avocado provides almost a quarter of your recommended daily intake of folate, a vitamin which cuts the risk of birth defects. If you’re pregnant-or planning to be-avocados will help protect your unborn baby.

A high folate intake is also associated with a lower risk of heart attacks and heart disease. Does your family have a history of heart problems, or do you have risk factors (such as being overweight or smoking) for heart disease? Avocados could help keep your heart healthy.

4. Avocados can help lower your cholesterol

As well as increasing feelings of fullness, the oleic acid in avocados can help reduce cholesterol levels. In one study, individuals eating an avocado-rich diet had a significant decrease in total cholesterol levels, including a decrease in LDL cholesterol. Their levels of HDL cholesterol (the healthy type) increased by 11 percent.

High cholesterol is one of the main risk factors for heart disease. The cholesterol-lowering properties of avocado, along with its folate content, help keep your heart healthy.

5. Avocados can help stabilize blood sugar

Rich, creamy, and packed with beneficial monounsaturated fat, avocado slows digestion and helps keep blood sugar from spiking after a meal. A diet high in good fats may even help reverse insulin resistance, which translates to steadier blood sugar long-term. Try putting mashed avocado on sandwiches instead of mayonnaise or on bread instead of butter. To keep what’s left over from turning brown, spritz the flesh with cooking spray or coat with lemon juice and wrap in plastic.

Telcos Must Pay Musicians Their Royalties –Bulldog

Artistes Manager, Bulldog, born Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, has advised telecommunications (telcos) companies across the country to pay royalties to musicians.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with host  Andy Dosty, Bulldog underscored the need for the Telcos’ to introduce a Data Levy Fee that would pay musicians upfront for marketing their songs.

According to him, the telecommunications company make huge revenues from the works of the musicians so couldn’t fathom out why they will turn a blind eye to them.

“We didn’t have this digital world then when it started. I beg of them to introduce a data levy fee for the Telcos, even if it’s 3 billion annually. They should pay upfront to the musicians because it’s their platform that is carrying most of these stuffs to the pirates to do their work…” he said.

Telecommunication companies throughout the country one way or the other utilize works of artistes to market their products in the public domain.

The terms and agreement between Telcos and musicians on how they would be paid royalties is unclear which is in sharp contrast of what happens abroad.

He added that, “If it’s not like that, we will be seasonal. We can’t work. They make a chunk of the money from that and it’s about time they put in the work…” he stressed.

Bulldog further urged musicians to unite and fight for their royalties from the telcos.

“We need to sensitize our musicians. It’s high time we start using our brains. That’s all we have. All the resources can deplete but the mind is what God gave us. That’s what the creative people use. There is a perception that musicians don’t pay tax it’s a huge lie…” he advised.
