I Am The Music Demon( Shocking revelation by an up and coming artiste)

People listen to music for different reasons as it is said, ‘Music is food for the soul’, but a revelation made by an up and coming artiste about his entire mission in the Ghanaian music industry will make you think twice as to the kind of music you should listen to.

The musician, who goes by the name Cash King(which he said was given to him by his sister) said he represents the devil himself on earth and has been sent to take over dancehall music in Ghana. He made this revelation in an interview with blogger, Arnold M. Alavanyo. He(Cash King) categorically stated that his strange skeletal tattoos across his chest represents a secret occult group he belongs to.

The Reggae Dancehall artiste who has a tattooed eyeball and two skeletons on his forehead explained further that he had to bleach his skin in order for his fans to easily locate the tattoos on his body “I am bleaching my skin because I want people to see the tattoos I have on my body and because I admire Michael Jackson and I want to be like him”. The young musician who is in his early 20s insisted that he carries his skeletal occult tattoos on his body because it’s an important mark for him as a member of his secret group.

“Anyone with this kind of tattoo means that person is not afraid of death”, he explained. Cash King who refused to disclose the name of his occult group maintained that their rules and regulations prevents him from making public what the group does in secret.

“There are big people both young and old who you know that belong to our group, some may not have our symbols of the tattooed skeleton on their body but they’re all members”, he said. Cash King further added that though he strongly doesn’t believe in religion(as it brings division) or any in any deity for his success or survival he believes he will be super successful in life soon.

Media Blackout As PAC Sits On Judiciary Malfeasance

There was a media blackout at Wednesday’s Parliament Accounts Committee sitting as it considered the 2015 Auditor General’s Report on financial malfeasance in the judiciary.

The reports highlighted how office complexes worth ¢1.2 million deteriorated after two years; how staff got over ¢92,000 in unearned salaries as well as the inability to account for bank lodgment to the tune of ¢5.8 million.

According to Joy News’ Parliamentary correspondent Joseph Opoku Gakpo, the Committee gave the media no explanation for the blackout but only stated that no media will be allowed in for the day’s hearing.

Also, reporters were told that within the members of the Committee, they have the right to go ahead and hold meetings as well as take decisions without the media.

Explaining the media blackout, former member of the Committee, George Loh said it is not true that the media was kept out to protect the image of the judiciary.

He said other government agencies have had that privilege of being heard in-camera and cited the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) as an example.

According to him, when some agencies are invited they agree to come to explain themselves with others requesting for in camera hearing on some issue they think bothers on national security.

The former MP said Wednesday’s development is nothing new and people must not read meanings into it. However, he said the report to Parliament must contain what happened during the in-camera hearing.

Mr Loh said since the report will be with Parliament’s library it can be accessed by anyone after it has been made public.

Below are highlights of the 2015 Auditor General’s Report regarding malfeasance with the Judiciary.

Payment of unearned salaries

At the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department, the review of the nominal roll and salary payment vouchers revealed that a total of ¢92,861.32 was paid as unearned salaries into the accounts of officers who have either resigned, retired or transferred to the Judicial Service.

Management stated that the payment to the separated staff has stopped and letters have been written to the affected officers to refund the unearned salaries.

At the Half Assini District magistrate court, the audit revealed that the management of the District Magistrate Court failed to take prompt action to delete the name of an unknown person, Aminatu Sidique from its payroll. As a result, an unearned salary totaling ¢14,036.07 was wrongly paid into her bank account with ADB, Wa from January to December 2014.

The Auditor General recommended that management should employ the services of the police to apprehend the lady and recover the amount. It was also recommended that there should be a revenue of salary vouchers to ensure immediate deletion of unknown persons whose names appear on it.

Shoddy construction work

Also cited in the report is the issue of the physical inspection which showed that Danida sponsored project for the Service at Winneba and Kasoa disclosed that barely two years after construction. The building at Winneba had developed many cracks and almost all the locks on the doors are faulty.

Also, the toilet facilities at the Kasoa District Court could not be used due to non-completion of the manhole thus creating an inconvenience to the two judges who preside at the court as well as staff and visitors.

To ensure value for money in the two projects in which government has sunk ¢1,241,585.86 it was recommended that the contractor for the Kasoa project is called upon to complete the manhole. In the Winneba case, the contractor was asked to rectify the defects in the building or an embargo is placed on the 5% retention deducted from the contract sum paid to him.

Inability to reconcile bank lodgments

It was observed that the Service consistently failed to obtain bank statements from the HFC Bank, as a result it was unable to reconcile revenue totaling ¢2,969,409.79 and deposits of ¢2,846,435.82 and £75,000 collected on behalf of the Service by the Bank at various courts with bank statements.

Unauthorized transfers without court order

In the Brong Ahafo region, a review of the bank statement of the deposits by the Sunyani High Court revealed that nine standing orders debits made by the NIB Bank amounting to ¢48,298.69 were without the orders of the court and an application from any litigant.

It was recommended that the Registrar immediately contact the bank for reversal of the transaction.

Revenue unaccounted for

Also, it was noted at the same court that the total revenue of ¢135,829 was realized from judgment deposits between March and July 2015. However, a reconciliation of the cashbook and the bank statement revealed that ¢125,369.70 was rather lodged leaving ¢10,495.30 unaccounted for.

It was recommended that an amount of ¢10,495.30 is refunded into government chest.

Unauthorized transfer without court order

At the Sunyani Commercial Court, a review of bank statements of the deposit account revealed that eight standing orders made by the NIB between March and May 2015 amounting to ¢126,821 were without the order of the court and an application from any litigant.

It was recommended that the Registrar contact the Bank for the immediate reversal of the transaction or the amount recovered from the Registrar.

I Can Never Bring Nana Ama McBrown Down – Lil Win

Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lil Win has said he never planted anyone in Kumawood to destroy the career of actress Nana Ama McBrown. He believes that Nana Ama is a multi-talented woman and so there is no way an individual can pull her down.
He spoke to Angel FM in Kumasi with regard to allegations by a lady that Lil Win was a thief who liked to steal from others to make his career thrive and he (Lil Win) planted Sandra Ababio in Kumawood movies to end the career of Nana Ama McBrown.
“Nana Ama McBrown is so blessed and I can never do that to her. No one can bring her down and neither can I. I can never think of such a thing” Lil Win expressed.

He added that Nana Ama had versatility and could fit into any role given her just like himself. “She is versatile, she can fit into any role and that no one can bring her down-She is just like me.”
According to Lil Win, he crossed paths with Ababio on the set of Cocoa Brown and was impressed with her acting and vowed to get her Kumawood roles.
“I got her number andcalled but she refused to pick my calls until one day,” he admitted.
“That day she came to act and she was not even paid. Do you know she has never been paid since she (Sandra) started acting in Kumawood?” he said.

Jessica Opare Saforo Endorses Baby Blanche’s No ‘Dross’ Campaign

Baby Blanche’s campaign to sensitize women to stop wearing panties especially at night to halt the spread of infections has been endorsed by Jessica Opare Saforo.

The eloquent TV and radio media personality said the initiative is highly commendable and should be supported despite the lukewarm reception it was met with from some quarters.

The co-host of the award-winning Celebrity Fanzone on GHOne TV also of the belief that perhaps Blanche’s idea has been misinterpreted which explains why people like Akumaa Mama Zimbi have opposed it.

She said “The whole initiative is to help ladies free themselves from infections which most ladies suffer as a result of wearing panties,” the actress stated during the launch.

I heard because this is something that popped up on my radio show, someone sent in a message that what she [Blanche] was actually saying was that women should not wear them to bed. I stand to be corrected though.

That is what I heard. If she said don’t wear it to bed, I agree. Come on, really you wear panties for 18 hours a day…, the least you can do is to take it off when going to bed. Feel free. I think men can even attest to it. So I don’t see why it should be a problem.

I think the campaign is noble, I see where she is going with it but maybe she might want to spruce it up a little bit with more information and get other people in the industry involved just so we can send the right information. So Baby Blanche just do you.”

So Sad! Ghallywood African Film School Allegedly Shuts Down

Can the Ghanaian Movie industry ever catch a break? It seems there is one step forward and 3 steps backwards. One of Ghana’s reputable film schools, Ghallywood African Film Village has allegedly closed down.
The film village which is located off the Tema-Aflao road at Dawa in the Greater Accra Region was established in 2005 by William Awuku Akuffo to train persons interested in filmmaking.
It has, in the past, trained over 3,000 people in videography, film make-up, editing, sound, light, directing, acting, modelling, scriptwriting, among others. Top industry players like Majid Michel, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, Anita Owusu, Kisa Gbekle, among others, are all products of the school.
But investigations by Daily Guide suggests that the school is now almost a ‘white elephant.’

When they visited the premises this weekend to confirm its closure, they reported that there seems to be some iota of truth in the rumours making the rounds.
The facility looked abandoned. There were no film students at the facility. Some parts of the property are also gradually succumbing to the bad weather conditions. While parts of the roof of the school’s summer hut looks almost like it’s been ripped off, grass has also taken over major part of the once beautiful environment. The main entrance of the village has been closed to vehicles but one can walk in on foot.

There were also no security men to talk to. But there were some three men who appeared to be encroaching on the property, cutting down growing trees and picking them for firewood.
One of them who won’t mention his name disclosed that the school is not functioning. However, he mentioned that there is another branch in Accra. He could not indicate where it is located in Accra when he was asked.

Make Local Languages Compulsory At Tertiary Schools-Dr Rawlings Zanetor

The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Dr Zanetor Rawlings says it is high time Ghanaian universities considered including a local language as part of its core courses.

According to her, making a local language part of the minor courses in the university will encourage and get more people interested in learning more about their local language.

“We are a multilingual country, which means naturally we are good at languages and it is an advantage to us as a people but somehow there is a block when it comes to English [in comparison with our local language].

“Maybe the method used in teaching the local languages to children is what is creating the block. Perhaps it is the time we go back to the policy which places emphasis on speaking the mother tongue to children as they go through school,” the medical doctor said.

Speaking at the launch of the 11th edition of the Spelling Bee competition at the Osu Presby Hall Tuesday, Dr Rawlings expressed worry that with lots of the so-called eye openness, society is losing its language and cultural identity.

Dr Rawlings, who was speaking on the theme of ‘Why we lose it?’ as part of a broad theme for the launch ‘The relevance of the mother tongue in literacy noted lots of dilution when it comes to mentioning local names and places which in turn affects the language negatively.

“If you don’t appreciate the value of language, you can’t express yourself properly and as we move along, what we end up with is someone who speaks only English, which is not even the proper English language.

“In essence, the person ends up with nothing in the end. We need to hold on to our languages and the key is to speak them wherever we are,” she stressed.

The first time MP is also advocating the need for local language dictionaries to enable the upcoming generation to appreciate and know their mother tongues well.

Dr Rawlings reminisced her time at Wesley Girls High School speaking fondly of her Fante teacher, Mr Otabil, and Biology teacher, Mr Xexemeku.

Dr Rawlings with brainchild of Spelling Bee Ghana, Eugenia Techie-Menson

“I recently contacted Mr. Xexemeku and realized he has changed the spelling of his name to Hehemeku,” she said adding it made her sad because she believes, “language is important because they convey the spirit of a thing.”

“My name, for instance, is Zànetor which means the ‘darkness must seize’ which is a command. When my name is mispronounced, it changes the meaning of the name because the Ewe language like may other Ghanaian languages is tonal as well,” she said.

According to her, she used her high school days to interact with many other girls from different ethnic groups as an opportunity to learn bits of other different languages.

She charged young ladies to take their roles as educators seriously especially when they become mothers because the onus lies on them to teach children their first language.

“They’ve been helping in terms of shaping this industry. People actually sacrificed the coins to ensure that there are consoles, cameras [to work with]. These people deserve to be recognized,” he said during the unveiling of the list of nominees, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer of Big Events Ghana, Jesse Agyepong has said the relevance and credibility of the scheme cannot be pooh-poohed despite concerns some persons have raised about the event.

“The question of relevance keeps coming up and any award scheme which doesn’t speak to the core of the reasons why it was set up, fails to be relevant. The reason for setting up the RTP is still the same. Media personalities play a very key role in our evolution as a country… So the platform has been created to ensure that those who are driving a very impactful agenda are recognized,” he said.

“I think it’s still quite relevant. It’s not a platform which hasn’t have its challenges. The challenges still exits. Many individuals have spoken about regional representation… But I always say that we are a country that debates to help processes. So when Ghana challenges you, you should embrace it. What’s important to us is to ensure that we embrace the challenges and make it work. Which is why this year, we organized an unveiling session… There are things we will fix along the line,” he added.

Forgive Major Mahama Killers – Dr Lawrence Tetteh

The Founder of the World Miracle Outreach, Dr Lawrence Tetteh, has asked Ghanaians to forgive the indigenes of Denkyira Obuasi who lynched Major Maxwell Mahama, a soldier who was with a detachment of soldiers on duty in the area.
“It is time to show love, reconnect and come together as a nation to forgive the people of Denkyira Obuasi,” Dr Tetteh said.
According to the evangelist, a national tragedy occurred in the town, “and that as a nation we are all guilty in one way or the other for shedding innocent blood”.

Dr Tetteh was at Denkyira Obuasi to launch a three-day crusade titled, “Total restoration.”
He met with elders and the youth of the town who are assisting with preparations for the crusade scheduled to come off on October 11, 12 and 13 this year.

In all, a total of 58 suspects arrested in connection with the murder has since made an appearance at the Accra Central District Court.
The Denkyira Traditional Council performed purification rights in the area to ward off any curse the soldier’s death might bring to the area.

Don’t Rush Into Birth Immediately After Marriage-Naa Ashorkor

By societal expectation, starting a family immediately after marriage is the norm, but for actress/TV presenter, Naa Ashorkor, young wives need to be given the chance to plan their way into motherhood. Naa Ashorkor, who recently gave birth to a baby boy, said the pressure for young couples to have children as soon as the rings are on their fingers does not help in planning for the future.

She told the Graphic Showbiz in an interview that already she has to answer questions about when she is having a second baby. “It’s been less than three months since I gave birth but questions are coming on when my second baby will arrive. Sometimes, I find such questions interesting but I don’t allow them to get to me because I don’t think I’m too old to rush to have children. “That is the pressure many couples go through and I know many friends who are going through emotional trauma because they are just three years or even less in their marriage and everyone expects to hear the cry of a baby in their home,” she continued. Naa Ashorkor got married in 2014, and after two years of marriage and no baby, there was so much talk about her getting pregnant but the Perfect Picture actress said she did not allow that to get to her. Instead, she used such occasions to ask more questions about motherhood and also learn from the experiences of older women to help her prepare for a baby.

“Motherhood is a full-time job on its own and in these modern times, taking care of a baby is no child’s play. Why would you rush to give birth when there are no provisions to make the child comfortable? “Sometimes, your work could even be a barrier and that is why despite our culture placing much value on child birth, we must give couples the power to decide when they are ready to bring children to this world,” she stressed. To back her argument, Naa said she sacrificed her job for seven months to have her baby. “These are some of the problems which confront you in making decisions and so you need to plan well.” Although she took time off radio and television to focus on motherhood, she wasn’t inactive.

She told Showbiz she was busy working on her latest play, Bukom, for her April Productions House and her online marketing company, Jaanor. Already, she’s back on GHOne TV hosting her Tales from the Powder Room and would return to her radio duties as host of Starr FM’s mid-morning show, The Zone from October 2. “I miss being on air. It feels like forever and I’m looking forward to getting back to work full time,” she said. Even though she admitted to being indifferent to feminism, Naa Ashorkor, who will be celebrating her third wedding anniversary next month, advocated for women to confidently build and empower themselves to be relevant to the society saying, “marriage and childbirth don’t define any woman’s worth in the society”.

Leave Afia Schwarzenegger Alone – Chris Attoh To Ghanaians

Chris Attoh is the latest Ghanaian celebrity to lend his voice to the Afia Schwarzenegger saga telling Ghanaians to let it go. Commenting on this issue on the After Hours show on TV3, Chris Attoh argued that Afia Schwarzenegger’s issue is a personal matter and should be treated as such, despite advising couples against adultery.

He told host Mikki Osei Berko: “The important thing is when it comes to marriage and relationships people need to also realize that this is a space to respect and whatever Afia was going through this is her personal matter. I think people should leave it alone. Marriage is a serious business, one way or the other, whatever people see and enjoy in the video, I think they should learn from it that adultery is not something that should be encouraged. I wish Afia all my love.”

Chris Attoh also advised Ghanaians to focus more on positive news.

“It is exciting stuff, but it gives me the opportunity to remind the society that there are real people. Afia is someone who is a media personality and the media is a powerful force. This might be today’s story tomorrow story might be different. Audiences need to look out for more positive stuff, “the actor argued.

At this rate, we are not never going to hear the end of the saga. We are still waiting on the court judgement.
