Remember Her? Giselle Yazji Involved In International Scam

In 2004 and 2005, Giselle Yazji made a lot of headlines concerning certain controversies surrounding her and then President, John Agyekum Kuffuor. She descirbed herself as the President’s Economic Adviser. She made allegations purporting that she was the mistress of President Kuffuor and even had twins for him. Nothing came out of these allegations.

Well, it seems she did not stop her controversial ways because she has come up in international news. The Washington Post published an article on her titled, “The Mysterious Madame Giselle.” According to the article, she has been scamming people withe the information that she is an advisor in the President Trump White House; specifically Ivanka Trump’s Advisor.

It even quotes her saying she has been married to two world leaders. The article read, “Giselle Yazji boasted to her neighbors about her luxurious life and that she was the secret wife of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a mentor to Ivanka Trump and the ex-wife of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. When she told her neighbors in Chevy Chase, Md, that she could make them rich, they believed that too.”

According to the Washington Post, Ms Yazji is alleged to have defrauded her neighbours to whom she portrayed herself as a rich woman with high-level international connections in politics and economics.

Ir is very sad that this woman was never brought to answer for her falsehoods in Ghana and has gone on to scam and defraud people if these allegations against her are true. She has denied all the allegations but only time will tell and unearth the truth.

The Washington Post story paints an incredible picture of this woman and really makes us wonder how she has been free for so long.

Fans Wowed At Premiere of ‘Who killed Uncle Atta’ Movie

Kumawood movies as much as have been loved and accepted by many have also been abhorred and criticized by a few others for either their story lines, scenes, actors role among others. For these reasons, many Ghanaians prefer to watch most foreign movies to these local movies whiles others are also calling on the Kumawood movie industry to improve so as to enable locales to patronize and accept these movies.

As part of plans to help improve upon these movies, Tigo launched the “Tigo Kumawood Premiere Experience”, earlier this year to outdoor new movies onto the market.

One of such movies, is one titled ‘Who killed Uncle Atta?’ which happnes to be one of the most controversial but educative movies on the local scene in recent times. It comes with a fine but touching story line which does not only depict a worrying social canker but try to unravel the controversial manner in which a man loved and respected by the people died mysteriously.

Lucky Fans at the movie premiere

However, the death of this purchasing clerk, educationist and later a politician did not only shock the people who have benefited immensely from his generosity but also got them talking again and again as the cause of death remained a mystery.  Not withstanding this, few days after the death of the man, his second wife, and her newly born baby boy were sent packing from the matrimonial home, raising concerns over what caused his death.

The movie which stars some of the ‘gurus’ in the Kumawood movie industry such as, Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win, Akwasi Boadi (Akrobeto), Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, Christiana Awuni and Kwadwo Opoku Mahala touches on some of the controversies, hard truths, and melancholic situations we often encounter in the society.

Thanks toTigo Ghana’s benevolence and readiness to support and help promote the Kumawood Movie Industry, 100 fans were selected to watch the movie for the first time at a special premiering event at the Miklin Hotel in Kumasi.

The lucky fans  did not only enjoy watching the movie in the ‘Blue room’ reserved for high-value customers but were also refreshed with drinks and popcorn. After which they had the opportunity to meet the celebrities who were present for the premiere. Head of Products and Commercial at Tigo Ghana, Pius Tuffour is hopeful  that this initiative, which further forms  part of efforts by the telecom giant to help revive, promote and whip up public interest for the  Kumawood movie industry could  as well make inroads on the international movie markets.

Bulldog To Be Discharged Over Alleged Murder of Fennec Okyere

Gloria Akuffo, the Attorney General of Ghana, has stated that the state is not interested in prosecuting Lawrence Asiama Hanson, known as Bulldog, over the alleged murder of Fennec Okyere.
Led by Chief Inspector Simon Apoirsornu, the AG has advised that Bulldog be discharged and freed in order to enable further investigation.

He said the advise was addressed to the Director- General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Police Service adding that the caution given to the CID was that the said advise should not be filed at the court.
Chief Inspector Apiorsornu indicated that the advise to the CID Director-General was covered under the Privileges Act, Section 100 of the Evidence Act. However, the Defense lawyer, Jerry Avenogbor, disagrees stressing that Section 100 of the evidence Act indicates that privilege information is between professionals and their clients like lawyers and doctors.

He told the court presided over by Worlanyo Kotoku that his client was incarcerated for a while but the judiciary saw the need to bail him because the police investigation led to nothing.
Mr. Avenogbor was worried that the prosecution has been asking for adjournments which he said has been “hindering the administration of justice”.

The trial magistrate however ordered that Richard Gyambibi, the Senior State Attorney who wrote the advise be summoned before the court to explain the aspects of the advice covered by privilege. Sitting continues on October 12. Bulldog is standing trial for his alleged involvement in the death of Fennec Okeyre. He was picked up by the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in 2014 at Kokomlemle as a prime suspect in Okyere’s death.
We hope that the investigation into the matter is resolved and the real perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to book.

Stop Spreading Lies – Halifax To Mzbel

Musician, Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah popularly known as Mzbel seems to always be in the center of controversy. Recently, she took to her Facebook page to deride journalist, Halifax Ansah Addo on an article he posted. His article was on her U-turn regarding her claims to whether or not she slept with the UT Boss. In response to her jabs, Halifax Halifax took to Facebook to write a long letter to Mzbel.

Here is the letter:

Dear Mzbel,
My attention has been drawn to your rants, lies and insults.
Initially, I decided to ignore you because it is your stock in trade. I mean, you have always had problems with almost every story the media ever wrote about you.
I remember your reaction to and denial of the story of the robbery in your home. I also remember your contradictory reaction to the report about whatever happened between you and the KNUST students. I do recollect again, your reaction to news reports that you had been detained over some traffic offences. Even your thoughts about Jesus Christ managed to land you in some media controversy of some sort.

Then, there was the controversy over why you left ICGC and what you had told someone’s husband about which pastor was bonking who. Again your fight with Graphic Showbiz, Ghana Celebrities and several others

As for you and the media, ah well…. Controversy has always helped your brand. You are a good musician and I must confess, I admire your entrepreneurial skills too. But you’ ve got to understand that just like life, music career has its ups and downs. So, when you are down, relax, keep working hard and believe in God for a brighter day.

Resorting to such media ‘beefs’ to remain in the news is old school strategy and paints you as a cantankerous brand. Get creative and trend properly.

Now to the main issues you raised:
ISSUE #1
“Halifax Ansah Addo, you used my image and lies to promote and sell “News One” paper and now this? The last time we met at Peace FM, you were all apologetic, blaming every harm you’ve ever caused me on perception… You later came over to my event at Bukom to plead with me to feature your artiste on my stage. This is absurd and sometimes I wonder what you people want from me… What do you gain when you boldly lie to tarnish me?”

RESPONSE: You accuse me of using your image to promote News-One? Really, I thought you were the one who rather drove to my office with Maxwell (the gentleman now with the adorable McBrown) and provided me with photos and stories to promote your brand.

You are telling a blatant lie when you say I met you at Peace FM and apologized to you. What wrong have I done to apologize? I never apologized to you at Peace FM or anywhere.

Again, you are telling a big fat lie that I, Halifax Ansah-Addo, pleaded with you at Bukom to let my artiste feature on your stage. Get serious. Your management contacted me that they NEEDED my artiste on your stage. I charged them and they paid for his performance. I remember they again contacted me for another performance from him when you staged your NDC concert. We charged them again and they paid. We never begged to be on your stage.

In any case, you really think NII FUNNY would plead to be on a stage in Bukom? Oh how? Kindly check our records in that community. We run the show there. Abi you know ‘dada’

ISSUE #2
“Delay asked me a sarcastic question and I gave her a sarcastic answer but unfortunately, I was misunderstood…. I really don’t get it, what has my relationship with Mr. Amoabeng got to do with anyone…? Is that the cause of the constant rise fuel prices?”

RESPONSE: There was no gun to your head when you answered the question Delay asked you. As a journalist, I found your answer to be an interesting one. I sell news. Not all news items are to reduce the price of fuel. News is not only to inform and educate. It is also to entertain and I found it entertaining to hear you on public television tell us about who bonks you.
About a year or so later, I found it equally newsworthy to have read that you had gone on Rainbow Radio to say you never got bonked by the man you claim had bonked you, during your interview on the DELAY show.

It was a piece of entertaining news because of your celebrity status and the fame of the man whose name you are mentioning in the media over sex-related matters.
For the records, I did not manufacture the story. It was sourced to Rainbow Radio, the same station you spoke to. Indeed, even the station’s website, www.rainbowonline.com carried same story.
Same story was on Peacefmoline, Adomfmonline, pulse.com.gh and several other websites. Why get irritated by only the one published in my newspaper, THE PUBLISHER? Perhaps it was because I described the sex as “hot”. Well, I had no evidence it was hot sex. I just felt, there was no way the sex would be boring. It is a compliment and not an insult.

ISSUE #3
“Unfortunately, I can’t stop jerks like you from saying bad and untrue things about me but know that there is a G-d and there are consequences for telling lies and misquoting others… Rainbow Radio has the full audio of my interview online and I never said any of these things you mentioned. This is sad and I keep wondering if indeed you are a trained journalist or just a desperate blogger. This is offensive and I am very disappointed. Some of your colleagues in the studio with me during the interview had the best and encouraging things to say except you. This is not a noble way to start a new business.”

RESPONSE: I am not a jerk. That’s an insulting word. Ladies do not use such words. I have a spare copy of the good old book, ‘Courtesy for Boys and Girls’. It may help you in your choice of words.
As for the full interview being on Rainbow Radio, I have already told you the station’s website was where I sourced the story from.

What things did you not say? Please educate us on which of the versions to believe: you said the man bonked you. Did he or did he not?

And to answer your question, I am not a blogger. And yes, I am a very well trained and professional journalist. An award-winning journalist for that matter. If there is a portion of the story you are not comfortable with, all you needed was a simple rejoinder or a call on me to correct it.
But thanks for sharing my front page on your Facebook wall. At least you have helped pushed the story to reach some 192, 000 plus of your followers. I am grateful.

I have to end here because there is a video of Ebony playing on my TV. Her style reminds me of your much younger days.
Cheers and have a good day.
Yours In Arts,
Halifax.

Don’t Be In The Music Industry For Money – M.anifest

M.anifest has stated that if you want to make money; music is the wrong profession to go into. He stated this while on the Citi Breakfast Show. He said, “I always tell people that you don’t come into something like music wanting to make money, so if you do, just forget it. It goes beyond that and the fact of the reality is that a lot of people do not succeed,” he added.
However, M.anifest says he does not regret going into music saying it has brought about new opportunities to him.
He further added, “When you take the road less traveled you become an artiste and you do all these things that require a certain level of risk and unpredictability, you have to really have a strong sense of conviction that this is your calling and for me I have that. And also the fact that the longer I do this the more I can assume different roles not just be simply a musician but be many other different things, sometimes playing other rolls using the music as a vehicle. I’ve had the opportunity to write articles for the Guardian. I think every musician here is forced to be an entrepreneur”.
These remarks are interesting as it shows the struggles most musicians face and the opportunities that can present themselves when you persevere.

Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s Son Lauds President Akuffo Addo’s ‘Free SHS’ Policy

The son of Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah has for the first time made open remarks on President Akufo-Addo’s Free Senior High School policy.

According to Dr Onzy Nkrumah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), administration must be commended for its bold decision in rolling out the educational programme. To him, Ghana cannot afford not to educate its human resource especially the younger generation.

Speaking to Accra FM on Thursday, Onzy Nkrumah said it was a laudable idea for the Akufo-Addo government to have removed the main hurdle preventing many Ghanaian children from being educated at least to the SHS level. He also urged all Ghanaians and various stakeholders to give the President a push to make the policy sustainable.

“I congratulated him when he first came up with this. By the way, all the policies of Kwame Nkrumah are available to be copied, so Nana Addo should use all of them. Free education was one of the pillars of my father, and if Nana will allow himself to use all of the ideals of Kwame Nkrumah, that will be terrific and I will support him all the way,” he said.

Onzy Nkrumah also added that, “Free SHS is absolutely a necessity, it is overdue. I think even with the overthrow of Nkrumah, the people should have continued it. Can we really afford not to educate our people? No …So I think this is a step in the right direction.”

Dumsor Drove Me Out Of Ghana – Slim Busterr

Celebrated Ghanaian musician Slim Busterr, who has been missing from the cameras for sometime now  has disclosed why he has been out of the country for all this while. According to him, he could not bear the pressure the power outages widely called “Dumsor” came with and that justifies the reason he had to put his music career on hold in Ghana and travel to the UK, where he currently resides.

To him, fleeing the country was the best option, even though one may say he could have just stayed and help find a lasting solution to the power situation at the time to save the country for a general good.

In an interview with Hitz FM’s Dr Pounds, the musician disclosed that “I was spending GH¢60 a day on electricity and it moved up to GH¢120 a day. Why? I thought of it, I didn’t understand and it went on for almost a year. So I was like no if I joke…,”

When asked if he was enjoying his stay in UK where he is currently staying, Slim answered “Oh yeah I am enjoying in UK”.

It was just recently that Business Development Minister Mohammed Ibrahim Awal, announced at a lecture organized by Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) that “dumsor is banished; dumsor is gone because we are committed to ensuring that without electricity and energy there can’t be industrialization. We have banished dumsor to make sure that businesses have everything to do to improve.”

Perhaps this will bring Slim and any other person who might have fled the country for similar reasons back home as he(Slim) hopes to come back to Ghana soon.
