How Could I Have Refused An Offer For ‘Odo’ Remix From Davido – Kidi
Fast up-rising act, Kidi, has commented on his collaboration with Nigerian Superstar Davido on his ‘Odo’ Remix.
According to him, he couldn’t refuse a collaboration with Davido when the offer was made by his signee, Mayorkun.
After winning the 2015 edition of MTN’s Hitmaker talent show, Kidi’s musical career has grown from strength to strength. This is to the extent that he’s been able to secure a collaboration with one of Africa’s biggest artistes.
Kidi, born Dennis Nana Dwamena released his hit ‘odo’ in July last year. The track, meaning ‘Love’ became one of the most popular and loved songs in the country that year. It continues to receive massive airplay even this year.
Three months after he released the song, he dropped a remix which featured Davido and Mayorkun.

He further explained that the remix with Davido wasn’t recorded so it can outshine the original as many thought.
“Something I’ve always wanted Ghanaians to understand is, the original was loved by many Ghanaians and we didn’t do the remix to come and overtake what you already love,” he said.
The ‘Say You Love Me’ hitmaker told Joy News’ MzGee that the idea for a remix came about when Davido came to Ghana and expressed interest in being on a potential remix.
He went on to say that it was also an opportunity for him to break into the Nigerian market, which is the biggest in Africa. “…he’s one of the biggest artistes in Africa so you don’t turn down such an offer.
He is a very respectable person and I’m honored to have him on my song. I mean, why not? And it’s also a way to sell myself to the Nigerian market because now, Nigerians play my song every day on radio and on their TV stations. They now know who Kidi is,” he added.
