From The Managing Director To Finance Manager, Top Level KBC Management Fired

Word reached Uncle Chim Tuna that the top level management had been sacked. Rather, had been issued with notices that they should vacate their offices at the end of this month. The letters were issued on Tuesday. My source who happens to be deeply embed in the ICT Ministry let me know that the officers holding the office of the Managing Director, Finance Manager, head of Procurement and the officer currently holding the position of Technical Management.

I sought to find out more because Uncle Chim Tuna doesn’t run on half baked stories. So my source delved in deeper into the reasons for the dismissal and all I can say is that the allegations leveled against them are serious. One and all of the officers have been accused of gross mismanagement and corruption.

I called KBC to find out just what was going on but it came as no surprise that the good folk at KBC refused to divulge any details. When I called, I asked to be patched through to the HR department -afterall, it is they that hire and dismiss individuals. They claimed to have no idea what I was talking about but rather than hang up, they opted to patch me through to upper level management.

Once patched through, they also refused to comment and instead handed my call to someone even more senior. What I am wondering is why they would go to such lengths to tell me that the story isn’t valid. Seemed a little over-kill to me.

When I called my source back, he raised a very good point: how could I expect people who have been dismissed to admit as much? He however told me that the sacking came directly from the Government of Kenya through the ICT Ministry.

The officials allegedly sacked are:

 

Mr. Waithaka Waihenya – Managing Director (MD)

 

Mr. Henry Momanyi – Finance & Administration Manager (FAM)

 

Mr. Robert Wekesa – Procurement Manager (PM)
