Forget Kamba’s and Luhya’s Blackmagic! Maasai’s Potent Rituals Prove Effective As The Delamare Family Finally Compensate Ole Sisina’s Family

The family of the Kenya Wildlife Service ranger Samson ole Sisina who was shot dead by Mr Tom Cholmondeley has finally gotten justice after 11 years of pain, frustrations and living in abject poverty.

After a meeting between the two families in Delamere’s Soysambu farm yesterday, a deal was struck and the ranger’s family was awarded 27 acres and 49 cows.

In addition, the late Cholmondeley family will educate the eight children of the late Ole Sisina and build a new modern house for his widow. After the compensation meeting, it was also agreed the late Cholmondeley will be buried on Friday.

Earlier, the family of the late Mr. Sisina had blocked the burial of the man who shot their breadwinner and even performed rituals on the graveside of the late ranger to curse his killers.

At the negotiation meeting, were Mr Sisina’s widow, Lucy Sisina, her eldest son, 22-year-old John Esho and four elders while Mr Cholmondeley was represented by his father and mother and top managers.

The Thursday negotiations ended a decade of controversy that had dogged Mr Cholmondeley over compensation to the Sisina family. As the news broke of the late Cholmondeley’s death, Sisina’s family revealed of the deadly rituals conducted at his burial site to punish his killer. A family spokesman talked of the dire consequences that accompany such a ritual.

Whether this compensation deal comes in light of the revelation or is to avoid a lengthy court battle and negative publicity is not known. Hopefully both families and their dead can rest peacefully .
