Finally Uhuru Remembers The Family Of Muslim Teacher’s Who Died Protecting Christian Passengers And This Is What He Does(Photos)

Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are on a tour in the much maligned NEP region.

The first stop was in Mandera and here the president had a special mission among the plethora of usual presidential tours activities. Mandera county is the home of the Salah Sabdow Farah, the 34 year old Muslim teacher who in selfless act of courage shielded his fellow Christian passengers people he did know from fierce terrorist bullets.

He literally took a bullet for strangers he knew nothing of. While he has been forgotten after a week of praises following the incident, the President’s action yesterday ensured his action will not be futile as far as his family is concerned. Not only did he posthumously award the teacher with a presidential award, he also gave the family 4 million shillings for their upkeep.

It may not be worth a man’s life but it is a gesture that is a long way from the usual neglect such heroic acts undergo. Here is the photo of the widow and the late teacher’s young child at the awarding ceremony.
