Kenya just experienced the first public same sex proposal. For a country which still grapples with the issue of homosexuality, this was a daring move by the first open lesbian rapper in Kenya.
Grammo Suspect currently working on her spoken word album Embrace diversity with two singles outs, shared the moment online.
She narrated her meticulous planning and how she finally got her partner identified as Timeka to say yes at an event attended by close friends of the two.
Grammo Suspect popped up the all-important question on Tuesday having ensured she kept it a secret from her curvy partner Timeka.
She invited a number of guests who may not have been aware of the gravity of the situation in terms of its significance as well as the risk involved.

While the LGBT community has not been subjected to witch hunts and violent attacks as in certain African countries.
However, the hate on the ground and lack of proper protection from the law has seen some attacked for their sexuality. The politicians and prominent clergy in the country have also spoken out against it.
