EXCLUSIVE: Could This Be Jamila Mohammed’s Replacement At NTV?

Jamila Mohammed has been one of the faces that define NTV and its Swahili section news every evening. The soft spoken anchor has graced our screens for a while now but it seems her time in front of cameras is over as new replacements are underway.

Ghafla Kenya has exclusively learnt that Jamila has been promoted to a completely new role and now she will the managing editor at QTV, a sister station to NTV.

As this is the case, the management at NTV has been scouring through the other media houses and they seem to have set their eyes on KBC’s Swahili anchor Beatrice Gatonye.

This is not the first time KBC is being raided by other media houses for its top talents. In fact, majority of those who work in private media houses must have started their careers at KBC before making moves to their respective current stations.

Gatonye is one of the prospects who are likely to inject fresh blood into the NTV Jioni teamed considering that she is among the most beautiful TV anchors and her experience in front of cameras.

The siren won the 2014 Media Council of Kenya award for the News Anchor of the Year category during the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards.

Gatonye is also known to be among the best commentators as she has done before in major functions.

Gatonye’s appearance at NTV will for sure be a case of beauty and the brains.

Ghafla Kenya reached out to Gatonye for comment over the possible move to NTV but he phone is currently switched off.
