Exclusive: Bongo Star Diamond Caught Up in the JKIA Inferno (Photos)
A huge fire broke out at the arrival terminal of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at the break of dawn resulting to indefinite closure of the airport. Passengers on planes that had landed just before the fire broke out remained stranded inside the aircrafts in parking bays before being evacuated.
Among the stranded passengers was Bongo star Diamond Platnumz. Diamond had just landed from South Africa to catch a connecting flight to Tanzania but that was never to be as all arrivals and departures were cancelled.
Narrating his ordeal, Diamond said that airport officials asked him and other passengers to disembark form their plane and whisked away to a waiting bus and booked at the Panari Hotel. The “Nataka Kulewa” hit-maker is still unsure whether he’ll be able to travel to his home country.
The Bongo superstar also caught the incident on camera. Here are the photos;

The Bongo star had this to say after the scary incident;
“Kiukweli ni jambo la kumshukuru Mungu kwangu mimi na Abiria wote kutuepushia na mabalaa yoyote tangu mwanzo wa safari hadi hapa tulipo na Mwenyezi Mungu akasimame nasi kutufikisha nyumbani salama…”
Meanwhile, Diamond is expected in the country ahead of his shows in Nairobi and Mombasa on Friday and Saturday respectively.
