Eric Omondi Hacked!

Comedian Eric Omondi is the latest public figure to have fallen victim to hackers, with a series of out-of-character messages posted to his Facebook page.

Eric is now being counted among the victims in a string of recent high-profile personal security breaches.

At the time of writing, Eric’s Facebook page is available, but the posts appearing do not reflect what Eric is known for. These ones for instance;

Speaking to Ghafla! on phone Eric confirms that his page has indeed been hacked and has lost total control over the admin rights of the page. He’s appealing to his fans to ignore posts that appear after the post below as that was his last post.

Facebook is a delicate social media platform and people can hack into accounts and steal identities like it’s nothing. However, the interesting question that cannot easily be answered is just HOW Eric’s Facebook account was hacked.

The most likely answer is that his password was compromised – but if that is the case, was it compromised because it was poorly-chosen and thus easy to crack?
