Easy FM’s Sheila Mwanyigha Hails Classic 105’s Ciku Muiruri Daughter

Sunday saw the Chicago Marathon go down where Kenyan athletes carried the day in both women and men races. While the men and women made their country proud by bagging the accolades, another great Kenyan ‘won’ the race by ensuring you and I are up and running.

Classic 105’s Ciku Muiruri’s 16 year old daughter, Erica Gachoka, took part in the full marathon (42km) in her quest to help buy mobile blood units in response to the numerous blood appeals for those who need it most. Erica is not an athlete, has never done any sort of long distance running and only started training a couple of weeks ago but wanted to prove that with determination, anything is possible; and she did it.

This deed touched so many, among them Easy FM’s Sheila Mwanyigha who dedicated a post to the young volunteer. Here’s that;

Like the bumble bee, she said she’d defy the odds and fly.

42kms is how high she flew in the Chicago marathon yesterday.

Erica Gachoka, you are a wonder and a gift from God. Words can not express how happy and proud of you I am.
