DP Ruto Builds A Kes 1.2 Billion Home With A Private Airstrip In Eldoret Town (Photo)

He still calls himself the true hustler even though he graduated to the billionaire club many years after he sold peanuts to passengers plying the Nairobi-Eldoret highway. Ruto is bringing up a massive mansion that will tower over all houses in Eldoret town.

A bold headline on today’s edition of The Star is enough to convince you to buy the newspaper even if you never meant to.

“Ruto building sh1.2bn home in Uasin Gishu”

I was strolling down City Street when the headline strafed my face. I ignored the fact had only few coins left in my pocket (considering where the month is) and bought the newspaper.

So the Deputy President has coughed a whopping 1.2 billion to put up a house that dwarfs his boss’ colonial era fortress dubbed State House.

The Star says the home sits on a 20 acres parcel of land the DP bought in Moiben constituency. The most captivating part of Ruto’s home is the airstrip.

Apparently the country’s second in command wants to be touching down in his own airstrip when he flies from Nairobi or anywhever else for that matter. Is Ruto planning to buy a private jet?

So where does Arap Samoei gets his guap from? I hear he has substantial stake in insurance, real estate, media and transport sectors. Apparently he owns Amaco Insurance Company, has a stake in Weston Hotel and he also has rental houses in Nairobi and Eldoret.

Mhh! Also interesting, Ruto gave the Chinese the contract to construct his mansion. Below is a photo of Ruto’s ‘State House’ under construction;
