Doomsday Has Not Yet Struck, But Something Absolutely Awe-inspiring Happened Earlier This Morning. (photos)
Doomsday-mongers reiterated that the end of the world as we know it would be the 28 of September 2015. Today.
If you have not yet made peace with your maker, this would be a perfect time to do it. But away from the end of the world shenanigans, something absolutely magical, regal and totally entrancing happened earlier this morning.
To those of us that were awake by 5.47 a.m in Nairobi and Nakuru or in Germany, we had the pleasure of witnessing a full blood moon, something that you shall have to wait until 2033 to see again!
Wasn’t I lucky?
Now, the blood moon by definition is a lunar tetrad. What is a tetrad? It’s four successive total lunar eclipses, with no partial lunar eclipses in between, each of which is separated from the other by six lunar months (six full moons).
The term “blood moon” has gained popularity the world over with its attachment to the biblical prophecies that the “Lunar tetrad” would be an indication that the end of the world was nigh.
“The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord..” Acts 2:20
Maybe I spoke too soon.
The term blood moon has gained quite the momentum in Kenya with people drawing fascination from watching the awe-inspiring sight. Methinks we are watching too much TV.
These are photos of the sight as it unfolded in Germany, Nairobi and Nakuru.
