DJ Pinye Bereaved

Legendary Kenyan deejay Peter Chuani aka DJ Pinye is mourning the death of his younger brother who passed away on Saturday. Murimi, 31, slipped away as was being rushed to hospital after he fell sick at home.

The deceased suffered from Cerebral Palsy and has been under the care of Pinye since the passing of their mother three years ago. His late brother’s condition compelled him to Pinye to help raise awareness on Cerebral Palsy in the country by partnering with Therapies for Kids (TfK) an organization that gives Pediatric Intensive Fitness programs for children and adults with neurological disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Stroke.

Last year he took part in the Cerebral Palsy Society of Kenya charity walk to help raise funds and awareness and at the same time seek to fight stigma and get people living with the condition to be accepted in the society and not shunned. He also appeared in Daddy Owen’s “Mbona” video featuring Deno where he opened up about his late brother’s condition and how he had previously discriminated against him.

Family and friends are meeting tonight at Sailors Club’s basement from 6PM.

Ghafla! wishes to offer its sincere condolences to DJ Pinye and his family.
