Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto still stuck in South Africa recovering.

Bomet governor, Isaac Ruto will spend one more week in South Africa to recover, following a successful surgery on his cheek to rectify a cut he sustained when a tear gas canister hit him on the face.
Ruto was injured last week in Bomet, during a clash between his supporters and the police during a football march in his county, after the governor tried to intervene asking for the release of some of his supporters who had been arrested by the police.
The police lobbied teargas at the governor and his supporter when the confrontation threatened to get out of hand to disperse them. One teargas  cannister hit him on the face injuring the bridge on his nose.
The governor sustained a cut and was attended at a local hospital before later flown to Nairobi where he was briefly admitted at Nairobi hospital. Ruto was later that evening flown to South Africa for further treatment.
 
Following his injury at the hands of the police, Bomet residents erupted in protests calling for action to be taken against the police involved.
Bomet county director of information, Kiprotich Samoei spoke to the daily nation and revealed that the governor was still recovering at a private hospital in South Africa.
