Another Obama In The Making: Pretty Somali Lady Wows The World With A Historic Victory Over Long Serving US legislator
It is very hard to believe a former refugee girl in Kenya is making inroads into American politics with a major victory!
33 year old Somali-born activist, Ilhan Omar, has made history in America unseating a longtime Democrat legislator.
Ilhan won democratic primaries in Minneapolis House district to unseat longtime Representative Phyllis Kahn who has served as a legislator since 1972 when she was first elected.

Ilhan will be the first Somali-American woman in US House of Representatives if she wins in the November general elections.
The Somali-born activist was a refugee in Kenya for four years when her family escaped the Somali civil war of 1991.
She moved to US in 1996 where she lived to date, Ilhan is currently the director of policy initiatives at Women Organizing Women.
November polls will tell whether Ilhan will once again make history!
