After Kenya Deported Him, Zambia Too Responds With A Career Threatening Action Against Koffi Olomide
Trouble begets more trouble! Koffi Olomide’s woes seem to be getting deeper! Zambia has followed in the footsteps of Kenya to take action against the violent Congolese singer!
Last Friday, Koffi Olomide dominated headlines after he was seen in a viral video unleashing kicks on one of his dancers at JKIA.
After public uproar, the Kenyan government decided to deport the Congolese singer back to Kinshasa. But the deportation was only the beginning of Koffi’s woes.
Koffi was slated to perform in Lusaka, Zambia at the 90th Agricultural and Commercial Society of Zambia show but after he assaulted a woman at JKIA Zambians too decided to turn their backs on the Congolese singer.
The President of Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM), Njoya Tembo, also condemned Koffi’s behavior in Kenya going on to cite a previous incident in Zambia where the veteran musician assaulted a journalist.
“Koffi has proved to be violent when musicians are generally peace ambassadors. In Zambia, he beat up one of his dancers and then a photojournalist, Mandela, at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel a year or two ago. Being an election year, Zambians shouldn’t be subjected to any form of violence. We have invested a lot in peace and that can’t be traded for anything – not for a concert,” Mr. Tembo was quoted by Lusaka Times.
