After K24, Kiss TV Now Kicks Out Journalists

Barely a week after Mediamax Network Limited dismissed at least 73 journalists drawn from its radio and TV sections, employees at Radio Africa Group’s Kiss TV have faced the same fate. Reports indicate that the Patrick Quarcoo-owned TV station is in the process of trimming down its baggage employees.

According to the head of news at Easy FM and Q FM, Robin Njogu, 27 staff members have been shown the door at the TV station.

Njogu alleges that the CEO, Mr. Quarcoo says that Kiss TV has been making losses amounting to KSh10M a month since March, something that an anonymous source at the TV station confirms.

The source reveals that just like K24, Kiss TV’s wage bill supersedes the total income something that’s hurtful for any profit-making business. The anonymous source adds that indeed the 27 are going home and that the dismissal letters were being dispatched by the time this article was published.
