After Having His Song Banned, Kenyan Dancehall Artist Releases 2.3Million Shilling Video

His first video caused quite a stir! Talk about storms in teacups; the track was actually banned for being “pornographic”. An assertion I found ludicrous given that this is the same nation that had a “Bend Over” concert but who am I to question the moral discrepancies showcased by the Kenyan public.

But after all the hullabaloo had (h)eventually died down, Blaqy remained. And he was determined as ever to produce a track that would push boundaries and prove that he has vision and can tell a story. So he decided to do just that, tell a story. This is apparently what transpired one night after leaving the club -he met some female police officers who pulled him over and what transpired next… Watch it in the clip.

And for the naysayers asking why the video cost 2.3 Million shilling, well, for starters, he got a customized number plate and he had to hire the street he was shooting in. Anyway, allow me to share the video so I don’t spoil it for you with a lot of jibber jabber:
