After Ezekiel Kemboi Showcased His Kibaki-Like Hairstyle, This Is the Stunt another Kenyan Gold-Medallist Is Pulling Ahead Of His Race Today

Temperatures are charged up after Rudisha’s win yesterday and so is showmanship.

Perennial entertainer Ezekiel Kemboi reverently showed off his new Kibaki-like hairstyle which he intends on rocking in Rio and now Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku has just released a video ahead of his Olympic run today.

The reigning world indoor and Commonwealth champion for the 3,000 and 5,000 meters has starred in a catchy tribute song titled _Run Caleb Ndiku_.

Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku will be running today at 4:05pm in the 5000m finals of the Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

The popular marathoner is featured in Machakos Kyalo’s music video where he shows off his various trophies won on the track. He also gets into the hip-hop mood and is seen throwing Sh1000 notes at the camera.

Rapper Kyalo who is based in Boston wants the world to share in on the tune that the track star listens to before he goes out to conquer in the races.

“Caleb tells me he listens to the song before the race and hey, that is who I made the song for! The song is meant for anyone who just needs to work hard towards something and drown out dissenting voices. Keep working,” Kyalo added, “There is this little story he likes to share with me. A lot of people in our village thought Caleb had gone crazy because he was just running and practising. They were saying, ‘Caleb has gone mad! Or someone has done voodoo on him!’ But now, they are the same people asking him to buy them chai.”

The 5,000 meters silver medallist at the 2015 Beijing World Athletics Championships is aiming for gold at the Olympic Games tonight.

“When Caleb first heard this song he actually said, ‘We are out! This is it. This is a hit.’ He just believes in me. The friendship is there. It is a mutual learn and learn. It is a respect of brotherhood.”

Kyalo and Caleb have grown up together.

“We lost touch when I moved to the States. In 2013, we reunited in Machakos, through my parents who were his primary school teachers. We exchanged contacts and I would send him my songs and he would tell me when he has his races coming up. There were a couple of races where he had won silver and another one gold. He would tell me that he was listening to my music before running. This motivated me and I had to make a song for him. I recorded Run Caleb Ndiku and then we shot it.”

The music video was shot outside Machakos People’s Park at a “perfect little spot”.

In the music video Caleb endorsed Kyalo as “the best artiste in Machakos…and the whole of Kenya.”
