A Suprising Turn Of Events As Striking Form Four In Tharaka Nithi Students Vent Their Anger On A School Goat

The past few weeks have seen a spike in the number of destructive strikes across the nation.

South Nyanza, the southern part of the rift valley have been hard hit in the wave of destruction that have seen school after school engulfed in smoke as dormitories, halls and administration buildings were burnt. The latest incident suggests that the problem is yet to be solved but at least, the burning has taken a different direction.

Students of Egakaremba Secondary school in Tharaka Nithi went on strike protesting against a cancellation of an academic trip as well as the numerous CATs they were being given. The28 students in their protests decided to vent their anger and admittedly hunger on the school goat which they roasted and devoured.

When the area chief and other security personnel responded, they were able to calm the students down thanks to their being already satisfied with a rare delicacy on the school menu. It was quite an interesting turn of events with no more loses or disruption as students settled in class. I guess, at times all it takes is a sacrificial goal…
