A Must-Attend Workshop On How to Make Your Kenyan Film a Success

So you have either decided you want to make a movie, or you have actually completed making a movie – congratulations!
What´s next for you? Who will see my film?
Where will they see it and how? At the cinema? On DVD? On the internet?
How will I pay back the debts I took on during production? How do I make a living with filmmaking in the future, especially now that I have used up all my favours with my family and friends and sponsors?

Words like “exhibition”, “theatrical release”, “VOD” and “Minimum Guarantee” start entering your life and you wonder…what do those things mean?

This Saturday, at the Heron Court Hotel on Milimani road on the 23rd of June 2012 from 2.30pm, the very fabulous Trushna Buddhdev Patel from Crimson Multimedia is giving a comprehensive introduction to Film Distribution for African films.
She will talk about how the business of film distribution works in Africa and abroad, and where the opportunities are for local filmmakers to sell their content. There will also be plenty of opportunity for questions!

Please note last year the free open lecture filled quickly and the organisers had to turn latecomers away. You are strongly advised to arrive early to ensure a seat!

If you have any questions, get in touch with May on 0704 – 805 896.

This Lecture is being held within the framework of the ONE FINE DAY FILM Workshops.

The Workshops are a partnership project between the DW Akademie, ONE FINE DAY FILMS and GINGER INK. It is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development , the Film- & Medienstiftung NRW, the Goethe-Institut Nairobi and ARRI Film- & TV Services.
