Six Movies To Keep You Grounded At Home This Weekend (Videos)

Unlike the previous two weekends which had a flurry of activities, this weekend is quite hushed up with only niche events up for takers.

So at one point you are bound to find yourself indoors. There is only so much you can do indoors for entertainment and movies are one of them. I am sure you have watched all the blockbusters and high budget movies from Independence Day to X-Men Apocalypse, from Tarzan to Now You See Me 2. So I went and compiled quite a small list trying to fit in all the varied tastes of the movies that were released quite under the radar but make for great finds. Here we go

Solace

This is for the fans of mystery and thrillers, those who love movie plots that respect their intelligence. It build up slowly but with every minute you are taken in to quite a nicely woven plot. A psychic is engaged to help unravel the mystery of a serial killer who believes he has a noble cause and somehow manages to be a step ahead of everyone else.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice was and is still universally acclaimed as a classic. The different movie versions were not so lucky. This one however is an interesting take. Using the popular zombie sub-genre it adds quite enough blood chilling action scenes yet still managing to maintain the original theme of the book. This is for action and mid-horror lovers and a good compromise if you have a romance loving missus.

 Race

At a time when racial divide across the world and especially the hate being directed to the blacks is quite an issue, this is quite an appropriate movie. Race is a biopic telling the story of one of the greatest Olympians in history Jesse Owens. It is always a challenge to do a biopic capturing all a person did that brought him in prominence. This is quite a story, told with little embellishments and you all should watch.

Term Life

I have to cater for the fans of comedy but still needing a strong story. Well, a heist gone wrong a mafia leading looking for vengeance, corrupt police cops and then Vince Vaughn…remember the tall odd guy in the Internship. There are too many ingredients for chaos in this movie it is just perfect not least Vince being a dad trying to mend his relationship with his daughter. A truly great watch.

Me Before You

Okay romance souls, I have one completely romantic movie for you. Me Before You is quite a story of accidents, tragic and memorable. There is some humor a dark twist at the end…I can’t say much without spoiling it..check it out

Approaching The Unknown

If you loved The Martian then you will enjoy this. Only that there is no Matt Damon and his antics and this is about the journey to mass and the mishaps and the landing. It is quite an experience and the perfect man against nature conflict if you ignore any shortcomings.

I hope I have added a not so little entertainment value with this under the radar finds. Enjoy your weekend!
