Music Mogul And Renown Business Baron,Joe Kariuki,Launches An Amazing Venture For All African Women.

Late December last year,at some swanky 5-star hotel ensconced in the lush Nairobi suburbs,a City business magnate and reputable music mogul was hosting an event that would attract throngs from the farthest of places.

Joe Kariuki, the exuberant CEO of renown music label Candy and Candy Records had organized some ritzy gala dubbed Amsha Mama for the African Women that was held at the state-of-the-art Tribe Hotel, around the very pool that famous US singers, including Akon, are familiar with.

The event, which had the candor and grace of a state affair, complete with cool music, spirited waitresses, polite ushers and a cool, classy crowd was held to celebrate the amazing feats of the African Woman; Her journey, her struggles, her achievements, her businesses, her victories, her innovations and inventions.

As a man whose always had the African Woman close to his heart,He sought to reward and award this woman, recognize her for the steps she’d made, inspire her and strengthen her in her walk to prosperity in Africa’s very patriarchal  society.

Speaking at the event,Joe said, “Empowering women is a driver in the society, and I want to use my skills and experience to build a platform for women to grow their businesses”

Some of the attendees, some from abroad.

Many other attendees, most of whom had actually flown in from various countries just to attend the event, also echoed Joe’s words. Lisa from Italy said, “The AmshaMama concept is so unique. I am looking for women who can produce craft which will be used for high end jewellery in Milano”

From Uganda,an adrenalized Sophie said,“How can I miss this! As chairlady for our Sacco of 600 women I want to ensure they get this kind of opportunities for exhibiting their products and for getting the network with other women”

Many other women shared similar sentiments including this one from Copenhagen, Denmark: “African Women and Beyond is exactly what we need to promote women. It is showing the strength of women and their initiatives”

As the night wore on,bubbly guests, among them men too, were treated to many sumptuous exotic foods and drinks as they busied themselves around the serene pool, chattering the night away in the cool breeze of a silent December night.

And with that,Joe continues his quest to not only empower the African Woman but also to uplift her, encourage her, enlighten her and engage her.
