Meet The Kamba Nurse From Aga Khan Hospital Whose Love Inspired Will Smith Latest Big Movie

Kenya and Kenyans’s have quite a history with Hollywood whether it is being the location of shooting mega budgets, references in movies or producing successful actors and actresses.

One niche that has been developed over the years is being the source for stories transformed to movies like Out of Africa and the First Grader. However, even with this history, nothing would have made one Prema Mutiso when she was leaving Kenya to US that she would be part of a story that inspires a Hollywood movie that stars none other than A list actor Will Smith.

Prema Mutiso journey took her to the paths of one Nigerian Dr. Bennet Omalu then a promising forensic pathologist and the two married. The doctor would rise to prominince being the first to publish the health hazard American Football caused its players.

His struggle and her support are the story behind Will Smith’s recent mega movie ‘Concussion’ and her role is played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The couple now reside in California and have two children.
