Thrilled Kenyans Spectate As KCB And Chase Bank Exchange Fire In Public
Call it the most exciting corporate war of recent times. Kenyans couldn’t help but laugh when two commercial banks decided to jump on each others’ neck.
The battle took place on social media of course. You didn’t expect Chase Bank CEO, Duncan Kabui, and his KCB counterpart, Joshua Oigara, to roll up their sleeves and take to the street to settle their brawl, did you?
Well, it’s KCB that started the provocation. The bank being the largest commercial bank in Kenya in terms of assets, obviously assumed it could push around Chase Bank without the latter responding with a significant threat.
Well, the underdog surprised the giant. Chase Bank was swift enough to land a knockout blow on the protruding skull of KCB.
KCB posted a photo of a lion that had pounced on a buffalo trying to pluck its backbone. The caption read ‘The Only Chase We Know.’
On its Part, Chase Bank posted a photo of a lion corned by herd of steamed buffalos. The lion had sought refuse on top a tree. The caption read ‘The jungle has its surprises.’
KCB lacked a comeback, they went mum after Chase Bank hit them with the Mohammed Ali-like-knockout blow.
Their banter attracted lots of Kenyans who couldn’t help but cheer on Chase Bank for their laughable response.
