At 78 Years Of Age Prominent Law Scholar Professor Yash Pal Ghai Gets Admitted To The Kenyan Bar (Photos)

It is said that age is just but a number especially when it comes to the pursuit of one’s dreams.

Yash Pal Ghai is indeed an epitome of the statement considering hsi actions yesterday. The prominent law scholar has had many years of teaching and researching matters law and has helped a number of countries in their constitution making process. His teaching efforts have taken him world over from Fiji to Cambodia, Nepal, UK etc.

In Kenya he is best remembered for his time as the Chairman of the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission. Despite all these, including numerous academic and state honors world over and despite being admitted to the British Bar and the Tanzanian Bar, he has never practiced in Kenyan law courts since by the time of his graduation there was no Law School in Kenya.

Yesterday however, the 78 year old said the oath in his bar admission, in an evening ceremony conducted by the Chief Justice. Several Senior Counsels were there to witness the ceremony. Ghai said the motivation was the several cases he gets at his Katiba Institute ans he wishes to make his presentations in court.
