After Stealing 8.9 Million These Two Are Sentenced To 1 Year In Jail Or 500,000/- Fine

The case of a chicken thief being sentenced for 5 years and a corrupt fellow who stole millions getting away with a mere fine or a couple of months in jail is a common happening in Kenya it has become folklore.

When former tourism PS Rebecca Nabutola and Kenya Tourism Board Chairman Achieng’ Ong’onga were convicted with the swindling of 8.9 million it seemed a new beginning however, the two only got three months of their 4 year sentence in before filing an appeal and were released on bond.

Yesterday the two lost their appeal but got reduced sentence with the option of paying 500,000 or getting one year in jail.
