Garang’s Son Chased From Cabinet Meeting For ‘Poor Dressing’ (Photo)
The sad and at times shocking events in South Sudan took a comical turn when a Minister was barred from going to the meeting due to poor dressing.
After weeks of failing to appear to the capital, the First Vice President Riek Machar finally showed up and the first meeting of the Transitional Government was held. Among those expected to attend in his role as the Minister of Irrigation was Mabior Garang de Mabior, the son to the nation’s first president the Late John Garang.
However, it was not all smooth since he was asked to come properly dressed. According to his post on Facebook, he went home to change a bow tie on the suggestion of Dr. Riek Machar, however, on getting back he was still barred from getting to the meet despite being dressed in a sleek fitting black suit and white shirt.
This is what he posted in displeasure at his treatment
..after coming home and changing my bow tie at the advice of the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny-dhuorgon…I returned to the Council of Ministers Meeting…only to be harassed and barred from entry by Salvador Kiir’s bodyguards…they should understand that ithis TGONU will not be business as usual…change is here…
