“I have Erectile Dysfunction” Man Tells Court In Defense After Being Charged With Raping Daughter And Infecting Her With HIV/AIDS

Child defilement and rape cases have become rampant.

What is saddening is the fact most of these crimes are committed by relatives of the child mostly elderly men. Such is the case that was in court in Narok where a 60 year old man was charged with defiling a ten year old girl and infecting her with HV/aids.

Mr Benedictus Anzaya is charged with defilement alongside the indecent act of touching a minor’s private parts, incest and deliberate transmission of HIV/AIDS. Four witnesses testified against him and said he had threatened the young girl should she divulge what had happened. The matter came to be known only after the girl told her teacher at Fountain Academy in Narok Town.

His defense however shocked the court and the magistrate. The man whose wife had passed away five years ago says he has been having erectile dysfunction for the last five years hence there was no way he could have committed the act.

The man also said his daughter was born HIV positive and he did not infect her knowingly as alleged by the prosecution. The matter will be decided tomorrow.
