For quite a long time, Kenya has been lording over her neighbors having just about the best of everything or being the leading in a number of sectors.

However, diligent efforts by our neighbors have seen many of us catching up with us in a number of areas. The fabled KQ lost out in a meek fight to the Ethiopian Airlines and Addis Ababa with its light train system and superhighways is a gem Nairobi wishes to be. In Rwanda the efficiency of systems, fast growth rate, smooth transport infrastructure is also the envy of the region.

However, the one neighbor who has always wished to get one past us is Tanzania. Ever since the days of Julius Nyerere referring to Kenya as a country of man eat man, the rivalry has been kept up only hushed by Kenya’s superior performance in almost every sector and Tanzanian’s more diplomatic presidents.

However Tanzania is picking up crazy infrastructure deals and they have an outspoken president in the form of Magufuli the bulldozer. Having won Uganda’s heart and stealing the pipeline deal from Kenya, Tanzanai got to launch the region’s biggest suspension bridge.
