Chaos And Riots At UON After Babu Owino Wins…He Promises To Vie Again In 2017 (Photos)

Paul Ongili well known as Babu Owino was last week sworn in as the SONU chairman to start his fourth term as UON student.

The event resulted in mass demonstration from the UON main campus students led by his fierce rival Mike Jacobs. The students who shouted and waved placards of Babu Must Go! brought events on the usually busy university way to a standstill as they engaged the police in running battles that soiled both in the campus halls and on the roads.

In a separate interview, the SONU Chairman gave hint that he will be vying again for the seat come 2017. Babu is quoted as saying “In 2017 if I don’t get someone to hand over power to, I will vie in SONU election in April and in August vie for Embakasi East parliamentary seat; so I will be an MP and SONU Chair at the same time; I am a jack of all trades.”
