Meet The Top KCSE Student Who Was Admitted At Mathari Hospital For Mental Illness

The just concluded KCSE results are filled with moving and touching stories.

Take for example the case of Chavakali school which a year back had it results cancelled only to emerge with even better results this year.Or the case of Otongolo shining and even Duale’s son performing well. However, all these fade in comparison to the feat achieved by the top student at Light Academy in Karen.

18 year old Zachariah Ndungu fell in 2014 having been diagnosed with a behavioral disorder. What followed was a two months stay at Nairobi West Hospital who conclude that he had a mental condition. He was taken at the Mathari Mental Hopsital and was discharged after 4 months. 

A clinical psychologist was hired to help him and all the efforts bore fruit when he emerged top of his class of 84 students with and A and all 84 points. He wants to pursue actuarial science when he gets to university. There he is celebrating with others in the school
